Best hotel in Japan ”
The jaw dropping window views and surrounding scenery at this beautiful historic facility were made even better by the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a pleasant experience during their stay. Management was always quick to greet the guests (who they care about enough to get to know) and help them find their way around the city with maps, suggestions, and easy directions. The rooms themselves are a wonderful experience of traditional culture with modern comfort. The bath house comes as promised with a phenomenal view of Mt. Fuji. (If you want to catch a good view, go early in the morning before the clouds set in.) After a rough day of travel, we arrived at the hotel to find that management had generously upgraded our room so that we could see the mountain and the lake from our bedroom windows. This is by far the best hotel that we stayed at in all of Japan and we will make it our goal to visit this location many more times in the coming years.

Excellent hotel”
We enjoyed our stay here. The free courtesy van picked us up from the station (after 3pm), we had the tourist info office call for us. Shuttle back to station from 8 to 10am. The hotel is right on the red line (Gem Museum stop) so once we got our bus pass we could easily come and go as we pleased. Very nice breakfast every morning a bit different, with eggs, sausage, salad, yogurt, fish, rice, and soup. Laundry available, and refrigerator is in room. Gave us yukatas to wear around the hotel and up to the indoor onsen with views of Mt. Fuji. Free coffee was served in the lobby in the mornings. The hallways and lobby were quite cold in the winter, so bundle up. There were fireworks Saturdays and Sundays in winter which you could see from right outside the hotel on the lake, quite stunning as it was snowing at the time! From my garden view room we could see Mt. Fuji if we looked to the left.

Really worth the money”
I have nothing to complain about the hotel. I was staying at the Japanese style family room and everything was great, from the room view (to Kawaguchi lake), the interior design to the service the staff provided. Walking to the hotel from Kawaguchiko station is doable, or in case the weather is too cold you can take a taxi for just around 1000 yen. The hotel may seem a little outdated but it didnt bother our staying whatsoever. They also have onsen that you can use anytime (i believe) cause i went there at 5am and it had already opened for use and free shuttle bus from the hotel to the station in the morning (until 11am). Breakfast is another bonus for the hotel as they have authentic Japanese set that is really worth the money. A little minus is that the bathroom doesnt have heater so it was a little bit cold taking shower during winter time. Overall i really enjoyed staying at the hotel and definitely recommend it to others. I would stay at the hotel again if i revisit Kawaguchiko.

Highly Recommended”
Excellent service! Requested for room with best view and we got to stayed in the room with both lake view and fuji view. Weather is perfect in the morning so Mt.fuji can be clearly seen from our room. Also it’s quite convenient that they have free transfer service to Kawaguchiko station. The staffs are friendly and Japanese style breakfast is delicious as well! (Would be great if hairdryer can be provided in room) Thank you for your great hospitality!

Awesome vacation”
The hotel was awesome. We had view of the lake from our room and the view of mt. Fuji and the lake at the onsen at level 4. It was wonderful. There is free shuttle service if you call the front desk for pick up at the train station. Got to use the payphone at the station.

Vintage, classic, surreal and reasonably priced”
The hotel is very beautiful. It has a classic vibe and a lot of history in it. On a clear day you can see mount Fuji in the onsen. Most rooms will either have a view of Fujisan or the lake. Eithet view is beautiful. The breakfast is traditional japanese and it was one of the best we've had in Japan. We came during the Autumn and the place was magical

Great Hotel”
We traveled in a large group. The hotel was in a beautiful location and we had an authentic Japanese experience. The hosts were lovely people- working very hard to make sure everything is good for their guests. We enjoyed the Japanese breakfasts, the hot bath with a view of the Fuji mountain, our room with a tranquil lake every morning. Thank you for a great stay!

Staff were so accommodating and friendly. Though we had a hard time finding a resto or store to buy food during the night, it’s okay. The nearest one is on their right side, well you have to walk a bit. We had a great time at the onsen. Clean and really hot water. Will definitely come back again ;)

Kawaguchiko Hotel - A hotel rich in history”
Got the chance to spend some time at this hotel and was very happy with the level of customer service I received. They have a traditional Japanese Onsen one for men and one for women. They offer traditional style bedrooms with a traditional breakfast or wester style rooms with breakfast. The room that we got was excellent as you could see mount Fuji on one side and the lake on the other. I look forward to going back and staying at Kawaguchiko hotel on my next trip.
