Furama City Centre Hotel (SG Clean Certified)

"I booked this hotel for a stopover for 3 nights. My room was great, big and by the looks of things, recently refurbished with glassed off wetroom/bathroom and big window. My only criticism of the room (and possibly every room although I don't know) was that it was a tiny bit damp. I've experienced that a lot in hot countries including Australia and Malta (even in 5 star hotels) so it's not the fault of the hotel necessarily. It was totally clean and well-looked after but if you are sensitive to it with Asthma or the like, perhaps not the most perfect choice. Otherwise, it was great. Good buffet breakfast too. Although they could get a better white wine choice at the bar. Only one choice and it was a sweet one. Blah. The location, for me, was perfect. A hop, skip and a jump to Chinatown, across the road from a non-glitzy shopping mall with food courts called People's Park which I loved. That was full of massage places, frame shops for cheap glasses and some great food - especially directly across the road from the hotel at a little outside food place called Cafe 168 (i think) I ate much better and far cheaper there than I did in the outside food street stalls in Chinatown which were really overpriced. It's also a 10-15 min walk straight down Cross St to Lau Pa Sat, a beautiful old colonial building housing countless hawker stalls. It's famous, good and cheap, worth a visit. The hotel is also super-close to Chinatown MRT stop which is about 3 direct stops to Little India and other connections. All in all, a good choice for me and I would go back. "

"Location: it's 10 mins walk to NTUC grocery, you can take the bus just outside the hotel ( use the back door gate ), bus stop 51,64,121 and 186. Bus 121 takes about 4-5 stops to Tiong bahru plaza (mall). Then take the same bus back to the hotel, problem is, you have to walk up across the skywalk and go down before you reach hotel. It's 5 mins by taxi to SGH. 2. Breakfast : very very very basic, rooftop, better to buy in the grocery and cook your own food. 3. Free mobile phone : calls to 5 different countries except Philippines 4. Please request for rooms near elevator coz we stayed at the far end 5. Room: it's very modern. Why? SMEG brand electronic stove top, microwave, sink. Free dishwashing soap and new sponge. They have complete set of kitchen utensils. 2 plates, 2 sets of everything.i love that they have a big strainer for me to steam my baby's vegetables. Kettle, toaster. Towel for dishes. Scissor, knife, peeler. Complete. 4. Replenish dilmah teas, coffee, sugar etc everyday. 5. They have 2 glass pitcher to store your water/drinks 6. Electronic windows. Very big ones. 7. 1 bedroom yet 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet. BRAVO! 8. Glass cabinets. Like it so! 9. Bathrobes 10. The bed is king size, California king. The linens--- honestly, the cleanest and looks so new and white. 11. They have plenty of electric outlet. Really really. And outlet suitable Philippines gadgets. 12. Bathroom: all grohe 13. Shower: water pressure is strong. Hot and cold. 14. Small toilet though but with bidet 15. Towels are big size. 16. Complimentary water everyday. 17. Big sofa bed. Can sleep 5'5 feet tall person. No dinning table and chairs though. 18. 1 TV in the bedroom and 1 in the living room 19. Staff are helpful with location, and everything 20. Free slippers although very cheap ones 21. I didn't try the television tho. I like the hotel but it's very very very quiet. I like it because it's really clean modern and new. - better to book directly with Agoda coz they are pr"

Heritage Collection on Chinatown (SG Clean Certified)

"We booked at chinatown but was upgraded to ann siang hill branch which is just a few minutes walk away. And was upgraded to 500sqft unit with one bedroom. Location is great, just near chinatown, a lot of food stalls nearby. Got a separate bedroom at the loft, with tv. A dining room, a living room with netflix. The entire unit was airconditioned. With 2 fridge, microwave, kitchen utensils (plates, bowls, spoons, knives, glasses, pitcher) with stove and pots, with washer and dryer. They provided, laundry soap, dishwashing soap, hand soap aside from shampoo and body soap. Phone is provided, Staffs are nice, easily contactable. But be careful not to spoil anything as will be charged. Was planning to pay the deposit through cash but it will be a hassle setting an appointment with the staff of the checkout day just to return the deposit since they’ll just be available during office hours. Decided to use card instead (and would probably have some processing charges from my bank). "

ST Signature Chinatown(SG Clean Certified)
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Made for the hassle-free traveler, ST Signature really makes it easy for anyone to book, check-in, stay, and check-out - without even having to meet a single staff at the hotel throughout your stay. While you could do that, it's the personal touch of the friendly hosts (I received a personal tour of the property; thank you Mark!) and the opportunity to interact and make new connections with other guests that make it a wonderful place to stay. The hotel has all the necessities for a simple stay: clean beds, well-stocked bathrooms, a shared cooking lab (kitchen) with fresh coffee for the caffeine needy, etc. Location-wise, the hotel is also located a stone's throw away from Chinatown MRT, and is surrounded by enough eateries, points of interests, and malls to keep you busy. If a place to rest for the day is all you need and you don't mind the concept of shared living (cohabitation in some form), then ST Signature is perfect."

"Room was big enough for walking, distance between capsule better than other hotel capsule bed. Mix room (man and woman) but safe. Room with automatic light control, if somebody walk it will light. Bed was big enough, supplied with 2 standardpillow and 1 small pillow, towel and white linen. Free standard breakfast like bread and jam, milk, eggs, hot and cold water. Bed is in same room with bathroom with hot water, and several sink for brushing teeth/wash hands. Single and double capsule ready. Sometime noise in the night when some people walk and talk. even a couple do ML early in the morning in the closed door capsule. Futuristic capsule. Nice experience. Near chinatown and bus stop, train station. Many restaurant nearby. Safe neighbour for children. Not so crowded and quiet environment. A drink machine supplied outside hotel so we can buy some cold can/bottled drink and sit in some high chair in front of the hotel. Big enough safety box for our cabin luggage. Capsule with door can open and close with keycard. So its safe if we keep inside or keep big luggage when we go out. Nice friendly staff. 10 dollar for deposit, can easily take when we check out. So its nice to try new experience stay at this hotel and safe some money to spend / shopping hehehe than stay in star hotel."

ClubHouse Residences Serviced Apartments - Staycation Approved
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Great location to Chinatown. Level 4 room number 04-03 at the end of a corridor, best room to stay as no passing traffic otherwise it would be noisy with people moving in and out. Seperate bedroom with pull out couch in lounge/dining room for 2nd bed. A code for the front door for security, luggage can be left behind the reception desk if you arrive earlier than the 2pm checkin (no staff on site most days we were there) one day we returned and the front door was jammed open so not so secure. Kitchen handy to heat things, cooktop but no microwave, cutlery & crockery supplied. Good size fridge and all in one washing machine/dryer. Downstairs is a great eating place for breakfast, good coffee. We were there midweek and the downstairs bar closed at midnight so noise wasn’t a big issue as in some reviews. 5 minute walk to Chinatown & the great street markets and eateries so I’d recommend this accommodation. Cons-no tea towel to wipe dishes and couldn’t find the rubbish shoot. "

Beary Best! Chinatown
Chinatown,Chinatown - View on map
"Beary Best Hostel automatically earns rave points for being right in front of Chinatown Station Exit F. Beary good points: 1. Location - very near Chinatown Station Exit F, near the Chinatown center (temples, bazaars/markets and hawker stalls like the Maxwell Food Centre) and there are convenience stores and a McDonalds nearby. Chinatown is an ideal place to stay as a tourist because of its central location. The Downtown (blue) and North East (purple) MRT lines are indispensable courses in traversing through major destinations and interchanges. 2. Breakfast - the hostel's basic breakfast is enough to pump up your day to walk/commute about. There's free-flowing milk, coffee, tea, bread with jam & peanut butter and cereals. Water in Singapore is potable but if you still prefer bottled water, they sell it at SGD0.80 (really cheaper than stores and stalls outside). 3. Very good wifi connection - I've stayed in another hostel chain that doesn't offer free wifi so I really appreciate this :) 4. Cute, colorful and friendly vibe 5. Comfortable bed Beary Minus Points: 1. Our room's bathroom had a slightly funky, moldy smell. 2. Requirement to take off shoes at the lobby. Maybe it's just me not liking cold floors touching my feet. I opted to wear socks throughout my stay :) I'd love to stay here again! :)"
