Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel
Clarke Quay,Clarke Quay - View on map
"I was disappointed at first, I arrived on a very early morning flight in Singapore, and had let the hotel know well in advance when I booked that I would be arriving early so would wish to check in early. I had previously visited a few places in Australia prior to my stay and none of these hotels had a problem letting me check in early. I arrived at the Grand Copthorne around 6am, greeted by a very rude and unfriendly receptionist, only to be told if I wished to check in early I would have to pay an extra $150. I declined early check in, but was offered no advice at what I could do at 6am in Singapore or asked if I would like to rest or freshen up. I wasn't very impressed that I had to ask if I was able to freshen up somewhere. I was taken up to an area where I was able to get a shower and sit down, which was very nice but I also wanted somewhere properly to rest like a couch or a sleep pod. While I was waiting in this area I spoke to some other guests and was disappointed to find out they were being allowed to check in at 11am instead of 2pm like me, they had not paid $150 or had one of the very expensive rooms yet they were being offered an early check in. I was pleased with the service offered by the bellboys they were very helpful, the hotel was also served well by taxis, the longest I ever had to wait for a taxi was about 15minutes. I had to get taxis everywhere as the metro was just too far away. The hotel advertises that it is in Clarke Quay but it is at least a 20-25minute walk from Clarke Quay. When I was finally able to check into my room I was very impressed, it was a beautiful big room, very clean, and had fantastic views of Marina Bay. I thought the minibar items were very over priced so didn't use the minibar but enjoyed the complimentary water bottles offered - great idea! I loved having the use of the mobile phone, I used it just like a normal mobile phone and was also able to call home for free - fantastic! I also enjoyed the pool, much bigger than"

"Absolutely the perfect accomodation for all kinds of traveller. Being in a perfect location right in the middle of the busy boat quay, perfect for both business trip and tourists. The apartment is not huge but it has everything you need, small kitchen, clean toilet, and even washer and dryer! Cherry was very helpful and really nice. Long gone the days where I would find accomodations for my trips, at least for Singapore, I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Singapore!"

"I recently stayed here with my parents and a toddler for our first trip to Singapore. The main reason I chose this place was the location and the comfortable size for entire family. I am so used to hotels in US where most places offer 2 double beds in a single room. When I was doing search, I quickly realize that is not the case in Singapore and usually the room sizes are much smaller. Since I didn't want to split the family into two separate rooms, I had very limited choices, and this was the best choice for the location and cost. I am very happy which my choice, since this place was more than I expected. It is located in UE square (shopping plaza, if you are going to take a taxi, you can just say this instead of hotel name). UE square has grocery store and convenient store other than few restaurants. Also, this place is located in between Clarke quay and Robertson quay, two trendy places along water with tons of dinning options. Also, it has 3 bus lines right in front, and Clarke quay metro is only about a 1 km (13min walk). UE square also offers a free shuttle to Dhoby Ghaut in the morning and in the evening. When I book this place, I didn't know but this place actually has complimentary breakfast. It is nothing fancy, but decent enough. They offer some pastries, fruits, cereal, porridge, and steamed buns or sticky rice with coffee and juice. Pool is clean and standard size. During afternoon it was under shade (since it is surrounded by high buildings), so it was very pleasant to swim. The staffs are fantastic here. They are very attentive, pleasant, and helpful. They offer cleaning every other day, and unfortunately my toddler wet the bed the first day. I requested to change bedding and they came right away and did cleaning with no extra charge. Another bonus is that they offer free cell phone. You can use it to call few countries for free (includes Singapore, US, India, Japan, etc) and use google map or internet. It was not very fast internet service but was de"

Heritage Collection on Boat Quay

"I stayed at Heritage @ Clarke Quay (I think the location is more Boat Quay than Clark Quay) before and thoroughly enjoyed it and so I booked it again. Unfortunately, before I checked in, they had some issues with the room and called me to ask if I would mind moving to another Heritage Property about 13 mins walk away at Stanley Street with an upgrade of a slightly bigger room. I didn't mind and so I went, and I was glad I did. Although I had difficulty finding it at first due to the lack of signage of the Hotel, but once I sorted out on the phone with the friendly staff from Heritage, checking in was smooth and the location is absolutely fantastic with good bars, restaurants, cafes, hawker centres, 7/11 and MRT train station nearby. The room has almost everything you need like a studio apartment. I said almost because although they give you everything you need should you want to cook a light meal, there isn't a kitchen sink (to wash, to clean, to prepare) which makes any cooking process a 'little illogically inconvenient'. The bathroom's sink was not ideal or suitable either. However, you really don't need to cook as there are tons of food options. Other than the lack of a kitchen sink, the whole works were there, big nice comfy beds, good sized bathroom with powerful enough shower, wifi, washing machine/dryer (shared) etc etc .. it is basically a very efficient and excellently equipped little hotel apartment. If it had a small gym or pool, this would be pretty perfect for me. I stayed for almost a week and extended my stay for another 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised by a nice gesture of a small bottle of wine from Michelle, their guest relations manager. All in all, I had another good experience with Heritage again. They emailed regularly in regards to my stay, was prompt in my requests, and a smooth check out well taken care of by Adrian who also checked me in. "

"Great World City is your amazing home away from home. It is centrally located, relaxing, comfortable and spacious. We loved our stay as it was just the perfect home away from home allowing us to eat together as a family and cook our own meals and also big enough to order in and have friends over to enjoy a relaxing evening. Just did not know it was an option until I saw it on Agoda. A great choice! thanks, "

"We stayed 1 week - 4 adults, 2 young kids (1 & 4) in August 2015. The location is brilliant. So picturesque, on the river, quiet, above restaurants and businesses such as remedial massage, 5 min walk to bustling Clarke Quay, 10 min walk to MRT. Easy to get a taxi. Interior is roughly 3.5 - 4 star, comfortable but not flash. Small lounge/ dining area, small balcony, 2 bathrooms/3 toilets for 3 bedroom apartment. A safe and hair dryer provided. A few things really let it down. The bathrooms were pretty awful and in urgent need of refurbishment and a thorough clean. One had grout that was ugly, lumpy, colour mis matched and was mouldy! Mould around the soap holder (which also had soap scum after a room service) and sink (see photos in main section). When I ran the bath brown water came out, along with dirt and mould. See photos. Yuck!!! The in-built plugs were all leaky. The shower door was grotty and allowed water flooding out onto the floor. No breakfast was provided on weekends (2/7ths of our stay). On the plus side, staff were very lovely. There was an cappuccino machine in the lobby. Breakfast serving room was small and often felt crowded with 1 or 2 staff usually in there at same time as multiple gusts. Very kid friendly dining room: high chairs provided along with kids plates, cutlery and bibs. Much appreciated! Breakfast election was small but variety rotated and good quality. Great omelettes and waffles when available. Nice little pool. But pool surrounded by tower so often in shade when pools nearby were sunny. Spa didn't work. No pool towels provided. Pool area was clean, there was a small play structure for kids (best for ages 2.5+) and my kids lovely the 2 bunnies. Overall good for kids, comfortable, good location, nice staff. Let down by bathrooms so we won't stay again. "

"We really enjoyed our stay in a two-bedroom apartment. The location is excellent, within walking distance of restaurants, Clarke Quay, MRT, and Fort Canning Park. There is plenty to do in the vicinity and good nightlife nearby. For coffee snobs, the hotel is across the road from a shop with excellent coffee and pastries! Everything you could need in a home away from home is provided - washer/dryer, all the small appliances, plenty of bathroom cabinet space, wifi speakers, about a zillion tv channels, aircon in all the rooms. The room is not particularly modern but very comfortable. Thank you to the staff for going beyond expectations. I emailed ahead to see if we could leave our bags at the hotel after our 8AM arrival, they offered complimentary check in from 9AM which was very appreciated after an overnight flight. Also, my partner is a smoker, and the man at reception provided him with a container of water outside to use as an ashtray which was thoughtful!"
