Good value. ”

Funny little place which is more a Homestay than hostel or guesthouse. The family live behind the property and run a restaurant downstairs which seems to be open only during the early morning. It's great value for budget travellers; has everything you need including hot shower, towels, soap, AC and fan. Around a ten minute walk to the beach and other places to eat.

room 3 was bad”

Bed made terrible noise when moved on it so we woke up constantly. Ants in the bathroom. Moldy stench because bathroom vent fan switched off with the lights. Minibar fridge was filthy. Good air conditioning. Airport, beach and Pantai Cenang main street conveniently close.

Value for money budget stay”

Comfortable budget stay with food and supermarket within walking distance. The beach and more dining choices are closeby as well.

Clean, spacious room. AC, towels, soap, everything you need. Great deal for the money. No complaints.

Big basic room, friendly staff”

We enjoyed our stay at d'Warung. The room was big and spacious and filled our basic budget need. There are a cpl of restaurants and a supermarket nearby. Otherwhise you have to walk 5-10 minutes to reach a more busy street with restaurants. The closest beach is also a ten minute trot away and very nice. If you are on a budget I think the short walk is worth while. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere good, which compensates the tired wardrobe. Comfy bed and good shower pressure. I would stay here again.

Comfort stay”

The Location is near Chenang Beach , you can walk around 8-10 minutes. The hotel was clean and comfort and got lot of parking space , so if you rent car you can easly park the car. at night it was not noisy so you can rest peacefully . Th owner was very nice. i will stay in this hotel again in the future ;)

Ok for a few night's stay”

We booked the hotel because of it's proximity to Chenang beach. Actually, the motel us on the main road between Kuah an the Chenang beach. From here, you still have about 15 minutes walk to the beach. Ragarding the hotel, the staff was friendly. The first room we got had a terrible bug spray smell, so we requested another one. They were kind enough to give us a new room. Regarding the cleanliness, I think it was same as allover Malaysia, lacking some effort. The plumbing was also quite leaky in many places. I recommend it only if you are willing to walk to the beach, and don't have too high expectations.

Well located with excellent rooms and good service”

Located among the rice fields, it is just a short walk to the beach. It is surrounded by restaurants and other services used by the locals and therefore very cheap. The lunch at the motel is highly recommended. The staff is very helpful and can arrange anything needed during the stay.

It is run by a a family living nearby. Not a hotel, it is just extra rooms that they rent out. Clean and cheap. Very basic. Close to minimart and food stalls.

Basic lodgings in a Malay kampung”

We stayed during the peak school holiday and Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace exhibition, hence we paid a premium. Basic but clean lodgings in a Malay village setting with chicken and ducks roaming the grounds. There was even rooster waking you up early in the morning. Owner operates a food stall which is quite busy in the morning and lunch time. However only Malay food is available. There is a mini market and another eatery a short walk away. Pantai Cenang is 2km away. Room is spacious as it only has a bed, a small wardrobe and a small TV with only 3 free to air channels. It would be good if they provide a small table and mini fridge. Only shower gel is provided. Free wifi is available but it is very flaky and slow. If someone smokes in the building, strong cigarettes smell will linger the room. No room service and housekeeping is done once every 2 days. Little English is spoken. Check-in and check-out was a breeze.

very clean basic room”

Because it was Chinese New Year, we could not book a room on Pantai Cenang (beach). Possibly if we phoned the hotels directly instead of using Agoda or Asiarooms, we may have been able to book rooms. D'Warung provides a real muslim experience. The guesthouse is a 10 minute walk from the beach .We had a fabulous buffet muslim breakfast. There were no western tourists at the guesthouse. It was a very unique exoerience. The staff were very kind anf helpful even though they did not speak English and unfortunately we did not speak Malay. The guesthouse and the room were spotless and large with excellent wifi. Ducks snd chickens were strolling around the grounds.I think it was good value for the price.

Clean and simple with distractions”

The room was simple and clean. The shower heater did not work all the time, and when fixed worked once after that. Furthermore, there was a rooster waking you up early (5-6 AM) in the morning. The staff is very nice, but they are not really available during the evening.
