We stayed at Koh Chang Hut Hotel before. We have tried several different rooms and 2 bungalows. All very nice. If you live in bungalows you can have a real quiet stay. Some of the rooms are facing the street and of course there is a Little more noice there but it is nice to Watch the life. Rooms facing the garden are quiet. We shopped around for nice and comfortable hotels and this is without a doubt the best value for Money in White Sand Beach. It is walking distance to nightlife (around 100 metres) and it is nice that you can walk home after partying. Not a good idea to drive in the night. We give the hotel our best recommendation and we will stay there neXt time in Koh Chang.

Best Bang For The Buck At White Sand Beach”

This is my second long stay visit at the Hut and I really like this place. The only problem is that during the high season (Dec. Jan. and Feb) the Hut is constantly fully booked because experienced travelers who come to Koh Chang know how cool this place is. Another word of caution is to stay out of their featured air con bungalow you see available on Agoda. This is unit H-9 and is inches from the ring road at a base of he hill that takes you out of White Sand Beach where an endless parade of cement and dump truck traffic gun their engines to make it up the hill. This room is always available because no one in their right mind would stay there and if booked, there is no refund to relocate to a quieter room. With that said, you need to book on their site. For the budget traveler unit H-1, a cliff side fan bungalow unit is literally perched on the edge of the cliff with a dramatic view and great ocean breeze. Their ocean view rooms are where you want to stay if you can get in. I usually start in one of their garden rooms and wait for an ocean view unit to open up. All these spectacular ocean front rooms can be had for a great monthly rate that prorates out to the same price of the mosquito invested shacks on the inland side of White Sand Beach Road. This is a family run shop and when they get to know you, they treat you like family.

Lovely clean bungalows”

Stayed in fan bungalow. Fan was more that adequate. Lovely bungalows very clean rooms and cleaned every day and the hotel and grounds were well kept. Bungalows on a steep hill, did not affect us but something to consider if anyone travelling has any mobility issues. South of white sands but walking distance of bars and resturants . Loved this accommodation but white sands not my favourite place on Koh chang as the beach is very dirty despite its name!

Nice people, nice stay”

I stayed at Koh Chung Hut for 5 days. The first night I stayed at B4, beautiful view, balcony and basically next to the Italian restaurant. It's fairly quiet (music wise), all you hear during the night is the waves bashing against the rocks and nature doing its thing in the trees :) The room was big with sofa & TV, the towels were very used and with small changes you could make it even more inviting. It was clean, only had one cock roach and a lizard seen in the bathroom (to be expected in the trees and only huts). AC was perfectly working, cleaning room replacing towel and refill fridge with water daily. Moved to A4 after accident, staff was extremely helpful and kind as I had twisted my ankle and wasnt able to walk, they moved all my stuff into the new room. I would definitely stay here again, great value for money, 10min walk to white sand beach which is just beautiful.

Perfect - swimming pool is the only thing that lacks”

Perfect location with an absolute stunning restaurant overlooking White sand beach from a cliff. Clean rooms with all amenities, good priced restaurant. Can be half the price of the competition nearby and the only thing you may miss is that they do not have a swimming pool. Wonderful beach 10 minutes walking down the road, as all the shops & drinking holes. Has become my favorite for Ko Chang White sand beach in the 2 times I was at Ko Chang.

Nice garden setting, bad location”

Koh Chang Hut has a very nice garden and some rooms with great sea views. The location is not great and if you don't have wheels (or budget to take taxis) you will soon get bored. Unless you are into girly bars (2 minute walk) or supermarkets (Makro, Tesco Lotus and Big C are all within walking distance). There is no real beach near the hotel. The restaurant was closed for reconstruction making the hotel a bit messy. The atmosphere is good, staff are nice and I appreciated the free hot water so I could make coffee. The room was cleaned every day. I would recommend this hotel for 2-3 nights maximum.

Very nice hotel overall”

We liked this hotel very much. We had the rooms in the main building (not bungalow) and they were everything we needed and more. Spacey, with a fridge, nice bathroom, good bed, a balcony overlooking the street. The staff is very friendly and nice. Location is a short walk (5 mins) to the beach, past some shops, restaurants,... Immediately upon arriving we extended our stay, and also returned here before leaving Koh Chang. Recommend! P.S.: The price for the beer in the reception is lower than 7/11, so if you're a beer lover don't think twice :)

Well located place to ejoy hollidays”

Located on the edge of White sand beach. Built in kind of rustical way. Walking distance to everything you need and just enough away from noisy disturbing places, night bars, etc. Stuff is nice, helpfull. Price is correct. Only minuses: there is no light at the mirror in bathroom and as our room looked on road side it was a bit noisy till 11p.m. or so. Extra plus: AC is not located directly on bed as in many other Thailand hotels we've been.

Nice hotel with all amenities, excellent value for money”

Pros: 1) The location of the Hotel is at the center of White Sand beach , one can walk to both North and south part at ease.. 2) I stayed in a fan bungalow, small but very elegantly decorated.. Has TV as well as refrigerator too.. There is a small balcony to sit and relax and enjoy the view of the hill.. the toilet is very nicely decorated with stone and gives the feeling of a natural stone made toilets. 3) The luxary AC rooms are sea facing , very elegantly decorated.. There is a full fledged bar and restaurant overlooking the sea, providing nice view.. 4) Both the 7 - 11 are very near.. There is a good food joint below , and eateries are nearby Cons: 1) Little far from the beach.. Takes around 5 - 7 minutes walk to reach the beach... In case you want to enjoy the good street food, suggest you walk for 10 minutes towards north end, where you get all of them.. 2) Not much night life in this part... In case you need that, suggest the beach side hotels.. 3) Wifi in lobby only 4) Hotel keeps 1000 THB refundable deposit Or Passport at the time of check in

Didnt want to go home”

Nice private bungalows with fantastic view & tiny private beach downstrears. Claning & new towels every day. Rooms are basic, but have all You need , maybe it will be nice to have kettle & tea 2 cups & 2 plates to put fruits on:) We liked to have breakfast on the terrace , watching the sea & listening to the birds singing. Location is very good, White sand beach is 10 min to walk, fruit stall is 2 steps left & good massage 2 steps right from entrance. Two 7/11 are a bit down the hill, 3 min walk towards the beach. Some lovely animals live in hotel gardnen : yellow Cat, two small Dogs & a Parrot

Nice environment with big size room”

The room had nice equipment which was nice: Big mirror, chairs and desk, wardrobe. You can easily find diners and travel agencies nearby. Near white sand beach as well. The room was big with a balcony, also with nice a/c. The bathroom was nice with good hot water supply. It was a worthy stay and i recommend this hotel to traveler to koh chang.

value for money”

the location is good at the end of white sand beach,and they cleaned the place every day,the price is very good,but no smile from the lades at the reception,and they have only one big safety box at the reception and they put your thinges in plastic bag with your room number inside it,you can fined lizardes at every place (but not in the room) but i think its normal in koh chang.when i com back to koh chang i think i will stay again.

Excellent value, best sea & sunset views”

Best value in Koh Chang! Hotel and interior abit outdated but the room was in good condition, there are different types of rooms facing the sea, some are extra spacious and even have a kitchenette or spacious for preparing meals. The views are spectacular from the balcony. Lovely garden. Staff are kind. Highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay.

Good for few nights”

I needed a place to stay and this place is good.. i stayed in the hotel side which is rooms direcly above the lobby area. Rooms are spacious, aircondition and balcony adds to the environment. The television with English movie channel, news choices good too. The beach behinf hotel is good for snorkeling only. White dand beach is about a kilometer distance. A motorbike would be great to have.. i like the place except for distance to beach.. The bungslows look nice, also due to Covid-19, most places are closed near by. The restaurant in koh chang bungalow is closed.. Over all place is good, and they offer daily cleanung, and motorbike rentals , and travel information..

Great room”

Great location just up from white sands , 10 min walk , cleaning ladies and staff were very friendly , one miserable receptionist but she could have been having a bad day , we stayed room 5 , great views , very steep steps everywhere so wouldn’t recommend for aged people , slight grip that had to pay 50 baht to use safety box at reception but easily overcome if you realize that they need a key deposit or a passport , so just use your passports as deposit so sorted , , not really hot water but it’s Thailand so hot enough so no grip unless you were here in low season might make a difference . Would recommend this place and would stay again , surprised I hadn’t been before, , didn’t try restaurant but it was right next to our room and didn’t hear a thing so no problem , , facilities, no pool but were surrounded by sea , no hair drier , no safe in room, tepid water , but I would recommend this and will stay again. Well we extended our stay by a few extra days

Great budget hotel!”

Paid 500 baht for a bungalow room. Set in a garden style resort in whitesands on Koh Chang. Basic but with everything you need. Set on the hill going down into whitesands, 2 minute walk to 7/11 and across the way from ‘little Pattaya’ and paddy’s palms Irish pub. About a 10 minute walk to the sandy beach area and restaurants. Can rent a scooter from the hotel for 200B a day. For 500B a night it’s an excellent choice. Would highly recommend for the budget aware traveller. Has a thai/Italian restaurant set at the back of the garden overlooking the sea with fantastic views. Will certainly be coming back to this hotel whenever I’m in Koh Chang again. Can’t really comment on the staff as we never seen them apart from the cleaners and laundry staff but that’s all we needed really.

Not close to the main area ”

Our taxi driver did not know where this hotel was and dropped us at the very start of White Sand Beach, when in fact this hotel is way past White Sand Beach, up on the hill. It's a good 10 minute walk from the centre of White Sand Beach. It does claim to have a private beach with snorkelling area but it's tiny and rocky. It seems that some of the prices on Agoda are more than the hotel are charging if you book direct, which is a little unfair. Rooms are big and clean but a little musty. There are some nice sea view bungalows but even the standard ones are adequate, each with private balconies / terraces. The restaurant was expensive, but that seems standard in Koh Chang when compared with the rest of Thailand. Wi-fi was not working when we stayed and although we were told it would be fixed, it wasn't.

Affordable rooms - nice staff”

Second time i stayed here. Nice rooms in the back with a nice garden architecture. The room in the back under the restaurant was nice with a great view over the cliffs and the ocean. Unfortunately this room had an issue with the toilet. So i got transferred to another room up in the 'garden'. Well, seems i had bad luck this time because there was a loud noise comming from the opposite of a disrespectful guest who seemed to play computer games all day in a superloud volume. Apparently he did not react on any knocking from the staff. However i like Koh Chang Huts since they have affordable and big rooms. It is a 10-15 minutes at least to the beach which is really no problem.

Good place for a week”

friendly staff, clean and spacious room with aircon, hot shower, fridge, tv and balcony. very comfortable bed and perfumed bedsheets. the place doesnt own a beach, white sand beach is at 5-10 min walking down the main road. i had a room in the main building on the interior side, not a great view but not noisy.

Great hotel”

Easy check in....good location...5-10min walk to white sands...lots of bars and eateries close by. Staff are excellent...very friendly. I was in standard double overlooking Main Road...was a bit worried with traffic noise but no problem with door closed. Room big...aircon and wifi fine...room cleaned every day. Beautiful bar/restaurant at the back built out over the sea...great for sundowners....i will stay here again.
