The only minus is that island is isolated from other resorts

Really nice place. Totally worth the money. Free renting of kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Only minus occurs if you want to go to the main beach in the evening. Then you have to walk along narrow trail without lights for 10 minutes. Would recommend the place :)

Everything you need and a good price”
This is a good value option on Koh Ngai. Most ferries and speed boats stop at their pier, they have a pool, pool towels, include snorkel and sea kayak equipment at no additional charge. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. It's a bit around from the main beach.

Can't ask for more unless you pay $$$$$”
The complaints about this place are a bit ridiculous. It's on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, with a private beach, and they even give you free snorkeling equipment and kayaks! Not only that, but the arrival pier puts you on a walkway straight into the hotel! The food at the restaurant was also good, but yes indeed a Coke is 50 baht. It's a tiny island that has to have everything brought in and there are not a lot of other resorts to make it cost effective for suppliers. You can both snorkel or swim right off the beach. At night, you can see fish swimming in front of the restaurant! The pool was clean and had a good shower area to get clean from the beach. This is not a luxury hotel by any means--but they aren't charging for it, either! My only advice to the hotel would be to install some Wi-Fi access points to expand their signals. Currently it is only available in the lobby or pool area. Great place that we wish we had stayed longer!

Fair value for your price ”
This hotel looks more like a summer camp, but offers everything you need. Rooms are clean and quite big (only bed was pretty small). One of the cheapest hotels in Koh Ngai. Staff is very friendly (they even borrowed us towels and snorkelling masks after we checked out). It's at the pier, but a bit away from all the other hotels/restaurants and main beach. but it has a beautiful private beach. Restaurant is a bit pricy as well compared to the others. As for us the price mattered we were happy to stay there

She displays a positive attitude, is soft spoken but firm, is kind and listens attentively. The place is run like a well oiled machine. Any problems are dealt wi5h professionally and expediently.

We love this place”
We stay here a couple times a year. It isn't fancy and isn't a huge hit with tourists, so it never seems crowded. We like it because it is quiet, cheap and you can snorkel right off the beach. The beach is rocky and full of coral, so not great for swimming. The snorkelling is very good, though.

Fantastic Resort”
What a fantastic resort. Located conveniently at the end of the pier. I stayed 2 nights in room 207, located in the older building. The room itself was a bit old and in need of TLC, and lacked amenities like TV and fridge, but for $40 per night in this amazing resort, I was very satisfied. Nice sized wardrobe to hang clothes, desk, end tables, balcony with table and chairs, with a great sea view. Air con and hot water. Free breakfast was average or slightly below, fried noodles, fried rice, fried eggs, mystery meat, toast, instant coffee, and very little fruit. All other Thai meals ordered from the restaurant though were excellent, so delicious. Great bowl of Gaeng Som (sour soup, not for the meek), super spicy. Prawn curry, excellent. Every meal was a treat. The resort grounds were beautifully landscaped. Did not use the pool, as there were no shade umbrellas. Plenty of shady beach chairs though. Beach was swimmable at high tide, spent hours bobbing around. They offer free snorkel gear and 2 hours free kayaking each day. Although it seems you are a captive on their property, just north of the pier there is a 10 minute jungle trail that leads to the next beach, the main beach for this island. You can walk a few miles down this beach and sample other restaurants if you wish. But the best part of my stay was the staff. So very very friendly, every one of them, reception and restaurant, were full of smiles and truly made me feel welcome. What a great experience.

Good stay”
Beautiful surroundings/tropical fish
I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were perfectly fine, and the Ko Ngai setting was beautiful. The food at the restaurant was good, and reasonably good value given the location. Most of all I found the staff courteous, and were generously accommodating given I was a day late arriving at the resort. The beach immediately in front of the resort is mainly a coral beach - with snorkelling possible at high tide (lots of colourful fish), otherwise it's best to clamber along the narrow path to the beach where the other resorts can be found. That beach is somewhat sandier ,though still with some submerged rocks/coral to watch out for. The snorkelling gear was included in the room price. A small suggestion for improvement would be the addition of a ladder to the end/side of the pier, so that it would be easier to get in and out of the water. A good experience for the price.

A wonderful place to relax”
beach with shadow, wonderful view to the sea, quiet surrounding
Reading all the comments in Agoda I was a little bit skeptical to go to this place: unfriendly staff, expensive meals? Nothing of all! I was very glad to be there and felt comfortable: very friendly and helpful staff, normal prices for a beach restaurant (you cannot expect 45 Bath for a meal like in the street restauants in the cities, but 150 Bath for a thai meal I find at a place like this in order and comparable with other similar places). I also like the big trees at the beach giving shadow all day. There are other places anough to bet sunburned on an island like this. Really great was the view to the sea with the solid rocks on the island in some distance. Specially beautiful at sunset when the golden sun colours the rocks. The garden is very clean and beautiful. The staff uses many hours a day to take care. So, when you look for a quiet place to relax some days and enjoy the tropical surrounding: go there, you will like it.

Luxury Resort This Is Not... but here’s why I’d stay again...”
Cons seem bad, but please read on... Cons Worst 2 nights sleep I’ve ever had... I went in March and had the cheapest room available with fan. Ceiling fan that rotated so no constant air directed in one place. Left bed in room 324 is terrible and needs replacing (can feel springs with every move). My advice... do not risk it, stay in AC room for comfortable nights sleep! No WiFi in room - Sporadic/near non-existent WiFi in reception/restaurant. (Best WiFi and beach found on Paradise Beach!) Pros (that far weigh out the cons if above advice taken!) Good Free breakfast (if a couple = 2xfree breakfasts!) Free mask & fins Free use of sea kayaks Conveniently 1 min away from boat drop off Friendly staff Swimming pool While the place feels like it could do with some TLC, I calculated that the free perks available would actually cost at least the price of a fan room if you hired/bought, as is the case with most other hotels. AC room is a must though!!

Comfortable, old hotel at perfect location”
Resort is old and worn out, and for the price you paybone might expect something more polished, however the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff very helpful, free snorkelling eq and kayak were a nice addition. The location is great, secluded amd private with some nice snorkelling just off the beach. The thai food in restaurant is excellent but quite expensive, as everything on the island. I guess its the best pick on koh ngai

Great spot and staff, terrible wifi”
Great spot for swimming, snorkeling kayaking with gear provided by resort. Plus there are hornbills and lizards to be seen on the grounds. It is a15 minute walk through jungle to main beach, which you have to take because long tails don't run with low tide. Or is this to keep you at the resort restaurant? Resort food prices are NOT higher than at other island tourist areas. The included breakfast was adequate. Friendly helpful staff. Grounds and pools are maintained. Older rooms could use some TLC, but are clean. We are planning to stay here again.

A lot of insects and worms in rooms!”
+ cheap, free kayaks, ok breakfasts - a lot of long black worms coming out from the celling, cockroaches on the floor and under the pillows, far from the rest of beaches, no fridge, loud fan Really not recommending, worst 3 nights on 1 month trip. If you cant afford the other accomodations on this island you can check near Koh Mook.

Good value for money. The facility is a bit old compared to some others on the island and facilities may need more maintenance but nevertheless, rooms were kept clean, service was impeccable, food delicious, and staff polite and service oriented. Snorkeling in front of the resort is ok but compared to Koh Kradan, not as exciting. Our friends who also stayed at Koh Ngai Resort were pleased with the hotel’s policy to offer equipment free of charge. We warmly recommend the place as a viable option for a relaxing stay on the Koh Ngai Island. Transfers to other islands were also effectively arranged by the front desk. Access path to other resorts though is quite challenging for elderly ones and can not be recommended during high tide and hours of darkness.

Good deal for an island property”
My second stay here was very enjoyable but this resort is older so don't expect 5 star glitzy. The building had fresh paint and the grounds were lovely and picturesque. I had a good sized basic fan room with a balcony, no hot water but it included a pretty good buffet breakfast for about $35. per night. This property is isolated from the main beachfront strip which was fine by me. The views are fabulous, there's a good swimming beach and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. i found the food to be quite good but do expect higher restaurant prices which is standard with all hotels on the smaller more distant islands.

Best hidden secret stay ever!! Must stay!”
This place was classic Thai style decor, which isn’t the prettiest in my opinion. Very minimal but clean rooms, free waters daily but besides that it’s just a room, a bed, a desk, a dresser & empty space lol..... BUT besides that this was amazing. You’re not spending much time in the room anyways & we didn’t have any bugs in our room. The view every day outside my window was unreal for 30 usd bucks a night. With free snorkeling stuff & free kayaks for however many hours a day, it’s unreal how cheap it is. The employees are over the top kind & hospitable. It’s definitely a nice private beach with a short 10 minute walk to the other beach. Personally, we just stayed on koh Ngai resort side! Super private & a better view! 10/10

Perfect for snorkelling when water is calm.”
Beach is rocky but can snorkel when water are calm right outside resort. Resort offers kayak and snorkelling equipment for free. Isolated from other hotels but only a 10 min walk to the other main beach through the trees along the coastline. Beware of the giant spiders we saw! The hotel is very dated and not the cleanest but we fell in love with the peacefulness and clear water on calm days. Very small store by the lobby but we suggest bringing your own water bottles and drinks/snacks. The more isolated the island the more expensive these are. Can only buy water at the resort restaurant. Would stay at the other main beach if we returned for ease of being able to easily eat at other restaurants even when sun sets. I don't suggest trekking through the jungle when it gets dark as the rocks get very slippery and is a bush trail. On windy days boats are unable to dock the the pier and instead stopped at the other main beach. Beware some had to cary large suitcases though the jungle.

Perfect place for couple days of total chillout, breathtaking views, calm. Food is in fact more expensive than normally in Thailand (typical for islands) and you have no other place to go however food was really good. We found all our lunches/dinners tasty, reasonable portions. Breakfast could be better, choice very narrow but still fair enough for first bites during the day.
