Great service”
The hotel gives us a very good impression because the manager upgraded one of our rooms to a bigger one without extra charge so as to accommodate a baby bed in the room upon our request. The rooms are cosy and clean with magnificent view of the Kumamoto castle. Breakfast was good and the parking is just at the door of the hotel. The shopping and eateries are just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. I definitely will visit this hotel again if I am touring Kumamoto.

Location is just right. Cross the road you will reach Kumamoto Castle and its neighborhood places but sadly to see the Castle is still renovated. Reaching shopping and dining area are within 5 min walking. The energetic and willingness to serve are keys habit of all staffs here. Room is quite space than expected for the downtown area hotel like this.

Good Location near to the Castle”
Hotel in good location near to the Kumamoto Castle and also shopping areas of Shimotori and Kamitori are only less than 10min walk from the hotel. Everything else is just standard, not bad but also not specially good. Room quite comfortable and clean.

Excellent location, even more excellent staff”
Kumamoto is an interesting city in Kyushu. It is an old city, with excellent historical, cultural and educational facilities. The location of the hotel was directly across from the famous Kumamoto Castle, very close to the two light train tracks that criss cross the city. The staff were pleasant and well mannered, as would be expected in Japan, and also very helpful and informative. The room with a double bed was small, but very clean. Internet connection was free, but not especially efficient or fast. The staff at the check-in counter were well spoken in English. I would recommend the hotel most strongly, and would definitely be happy to stay there again on my next visit to Kumamoto.

On the way stopover at Kumamoto”
We loved this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is beautiful, well preserved from 1960 when it first opened. Spacious and lovely lobby. Staff very friendly and helpful. We drove to the hotel and got to park right in front, most convenient. Parking fee is 800 Yen per day which is totally worthwhile. Room is a bit old but well maintained. Location is great, walking distance to the castle, major shopping arcade, dept stores and restaurants. We didn't eat at the hotel. Strongly recommended for anyone planning a stopover to experience Kumamoto.

Hotel was walking distance to major shopping streets and Kumamoto Castle. Value for money! Staff was helpful calling ferry as we had to confirm if our car can board the ferry to Shimabara without reservation.

Great hotel in a superb location”
Everything about the hotel was excellent. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally helpful with information. I would definitely be most happy to stay there again on my next visit to Kumamoto, a charming city with excellent culture, history, educational facilities, and wonderful organic food.

Located right next to the kumamoto castle provided us with a good scenery view from our room. It is also easy to walk to the main street from the hotel. Breakfast is not buffet type, so may not be as many choices as expected. Room is clean and neat.

Near Kumamoto Castle”
Besides located near the Kumamoto Castle, I can't really comment on the convenience of the location because I rented a car and drove around. Parking at the hotel is chargeable event for guests. Room is clean and comfortable.

I cannot comment on the restaurants because I ate out, but they had a few. the room was clean and had all the Japanese mid range hotel features. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
