Awesome location with spacious room”

Stayed 2 nights at Labu Labi. This family run business is very cozy and charming. All the rooms (more like chalets) are facing Tanjung Rhu beach & the beach is 10-15 steps from the door. Unlike the crowded and touristy Pantai Cenang, you get to enjoy Tanjung Rhu beach all by yourself. If you're looking for water sport activities, NAAM sports is just further down the beach. Plus, Kilim Geoforest is just nearby if you're planning to sign up for a Mangrove Tour, which we did with the help of Labu Labi owner's daughter, Bibi (3hr tour for RM110 inclusive of lunch!). Although the resort doesn't come with their own restaurant, they do provide bread and cereals for breakfast and there's a fridge selling soft drinks & beer. There's also a bbq pit for rent. There are dining places nearby like fish & chip joint, Malay Thai restaurant but I'd recommend you to drive 2 mins or walk 15 mins (bike <10 mins?) to the Ayer Hangat night market every Friday night. I'd stay here again if I'm going back Langkawi.

Highlight of the Entire Malaysia Trip”

I booked Labu Labi after painstakingly searching for a good place to stay in Langkawi. The higher end places were too expensive, whereas, the mid-range places were either far away from the beach or had alarmingly bad reviews. I chanced upon Labu Labi and immediately booked it after reading the glowing reviews and the fact that it was on the beach. I was still apprehensive that online photos might be a scam, but as soon as I booked, I got an email from Liza, the wonderful owner. She was in regular communication even while I was travelling to coordinate our transport. That's not even the best part. We reached late at night, so couldn't really see the beach, but we were in for a surprise the next morning. As soon as we drew open the curtains, all we saw was white sandy beach and clear blue turquoise water. Labu Labi delivered on all fronts: amazing staff, friendly guests, private beach, quiet and clean. Recommendations: rent a car from the airport to travel around the island.

Great stay”

We have just spent 6 days 5 nights at Labu Labi. When booking, I was apprehensive given cheap price but outstanding reviews. Was not sure what to do but went for it and was not disappointed. Here are my reflections: - Family run and so kind and friendly helping you out - Location is gold with views across to Thailand and surrounding Langkawi islands. - We booked a family room at end of residence. Quiet, private and so relaxing - The sunsets are incredible. - North and away from the hustle and bustle of duty free Langkawi. - Beach is kid friendly not crystal blue waters but refreshing. Things to be aware of: - Breakfast is very basic. This is perfect for young families with corn flakes, toast, and basic malay food available as well as tea and coffee overlooking the beach - Rooms are simple but clean. Nothing fancy but beds were clean and comfortable and best of all it is quiet which is a great escape from Kuala Lumpur. - No lunch or dinner - Fish and chips next door is really nice.

definitely worth it! it was a good stay. bed was super comfortable, room was cleaned, basic stuff e.g towels was provided. view from room was breathtaking! room was just in front of the beach. at night, we could hear the sound of sea waves. it was so relaxing . i really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay in labu-labi again. however, i didn't try the breakfast as i prefer to get around to find local food. and it is near to jetty ( i forgot the name) where you get to go for boat ride in Tanjung Rhu - if you go for package. if you were looking for fresh delicious seafood, don't forget to go to Tanjung Rhu floating restaurant which you can go there by going to the jetty i meantioned.

Private beach”

There are many good things to say about Labu Labi Residence Resort. First of all, the location was perfect, at Tanjung Rhu where it is not as crowded as Pantai Cenang. The room is located just by the beach, the beach was right in front of us, just like our quiet and private beach. I would recommend those who stay here to have own transport such as rented car or bike as there are not much food in this area. Some areas of the hotel is currently under renovation and I believe it will be great once it is completed! Hope to be back again.

Exceptional”

Definitely one of the best accommodations I've booked on Agoda. The location might not be ideal for some as you will definitely need to rent a car to get here and also to explore the rest of the island. But for us, the beachfront location was excellent. Great for catching sunrises/sunsets or just to have some quiet time listening to the sound of the waves. The staffs were super friendly and welcoming. Gave recommendations to places that we might want to go. Loved how spacious the room was even with 3 adults and 2 kids (family room). 1 back door and 1 front door. Almost full-length windows that allows to gaze out to the sea without stepping out from your room. Beds were very comfortable. Pillows were just nice, not too hard or soft. Air-conditioning and fan and the rest of the amenities that they provided was working perfectly and sufficient for our stay. Bathroom was huge. We loved it! The lock wasn't working though but it was not a big issue for us. Although everything was fairly basic and it's more like a self-service accommodation, we were pretty satisfied and happy with our choice. Thank you Labu Labi Residence for making our stay a great one!

Peaceful resort by the beach with amazing sunsets”

My stay at Labu Labi Residence was beyond just pleasant. We extended our 3-nights stay to 6-nights instead. The staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were located right on the beach with gorgeous sceneries just metres away. Would definitely recommend anyone who wants to see the more tranquil side of Langkawi to stay in this particular residence. Do note that it would be more convenient to rent a car to travel around :)

Superb location on Tanjung Beach”

The biggest feature of Labu Labi is its location on the best beach in Langkawi. Literally 10 steps and you are on the sand which stretches around a mile or so. Superb views and sunsets. Even the cement factory in the distance looks like Kings Landing from Game of Thrones. Great staff. You don’t need to hire a car even though it is at the secluded north of the island. We used Grab, cheap, reliable and easy to get even during the peak tourist season. Try Pia’s The Padi restaurant, 10 minutes by taxi. Great dining experience. All in all Labu Labi is good vfm with spacious rooms. Breakfasts are okay, not great. The hotel outdoor environment would benefit from a tidy up and there aren’t enough working sun beds and cushions. Small negatives. It’s a great place to stay in Langkawi.

Best place to kick back and relax”

Stayed in Labu Labi for 3 nights (wished it had been longer). The rooms were very spacious and clean, beds were very nice and comfy, nice hot shower with strong water pressure, WiFi in room and has a fridge which is big enough to fit all our drinks (Freezer space a little tight though). The beach is right on your doorstep. The family rooms are slightly shaded by a few trees which is great as we could sit outside and enjoy the breeze without getting burnt by the sun. The beach itself is nice and quiet, although at times you can hear cars passing by at the road behind, but we didn't find that disturbing at all. The limited number of guests makes it conducive for a perfect getaway for both families, friends and couples. Liza, the host, was great, she was there to greet us even though we arrived at night. Her positive and cheerful demeanor made the experience that much better. Regarding food, Labu Labi does not provide food, however, in the mornings, we would take a 2 min drive down the road to the Roti Canai stall. Alternatively, there is Scarborough Fish and Chips just up the beach which serves some excellent fish and chips. Overall, had a great experience, will definitely be back!

Perfect Stay”

A spacious room right on the beach, u can enjoy a very private stay in Labu Labi, and own a beautiful beach with no crowd at very reasonable price. Although there is no reception and dining area, but there is a restaurant which serve nice western foods - Scarborough Fish & Chips - is just few steps away from Labu Labi. Overall, a memorable 3 days stay in Labu Labi, it is really a hidden gem in Langkawi.

Island living with just enough mod cons ”

We loved our stay at Labu Labi. Having read reviews from other customers we knew that we would need a car and arranged it through a Mr Wan prior to arrival. We went from the plane, into the car and on our way within minutes. GPS helps with getting about until you are used to the geography of Langkawi. Free maps at the airport helped us a lot. To be honest though once we, my husband, 2 year old and I arrived and were shown to our beachside room, we didn't feel that inclined to go anywhere else! the room was spotless and linen crisp and clean. Beds comfy, aircon/ and fan a blessing when you needed a cool off. wifi reliable. The room opens onto an area with comfy chairs to take in the view. There is a tap for washing off sand, essential with a toddler! Behind a row of shady trees is a sloping white sand beach. The sand is beautiful, full of shells. The sea is warm and blue to look at. Not so clear, not dirty, but a little silty, don't expect clear water snorkelling. You have to watch little ones as the slope is not that gradual, but we were fine with it and our son learnt about taking care in the water. Lots of birds and trees inland, great trip to the Kilim Mangroves. We also enjoyed Pasir Tengkorak 'skull' beach, sheltered in a cove, amazing trees with non invasive monkeys, and the beach slowly rolls out into the sea, great for kids. Scarborough Fish n Chips is good, the dory is nice. We did need a change and went to pantai cenang for delicious indian food at Mumbai Palace. Glad to have a fridge to store some simple food, we bought our own bread for breakfast. Lisa and her family are non intrusive and kind, and when asked will help. We had two washes done for 5RM. It would have been nice to have the room cleaned while we were there for four days, but if we had felt strongly we could have asked. We would definately return. The sun, sky, sand and stars stay with us, thank you, for keeping nature preserved in the development of this lovely residence.

SO AMAZING!”

This was was great, not only you have your privacy but also the rooms were extremely spacious. After coming here from "Holiday Villa Resort - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE" We made up by staying at Labu Labi Residence Resort. The lady at reception was lovely and you have to go next door for the amazing fish and chips! There are other beaches close by if you want to check out. Otherwise the beach literally in front of your room is really nice also. There is also loads of activities which you can do. Highly recommend this resort :)

Beautiful surroundings and scenery of the sea”

Clean and spacious accommodation with plenty of beach lounges. The chalet is located right on the beach. My 4yr old loved playing with the sand right outside our doorstep. The only downside is the waves were too strong for my young kids to swim (probably due to the weather) and with no swimming pool it was limited in terms of their activities. The other thing was the location, very secluded on tg rhu and far from the main cenang strip and shopping facilities and restaurants. But we enjoyed the privacy and peacefulness. A car is a must to get around the island. Food was easy to find at nearby stalls (but not walking distance) and there is a fish and chip restaurant right next to labu labu resort. All in all, fantastic relaxing holiday on a beautiful beach and comfy chalet. Well done labu labi.

We made the right choice”

Be reminded, the Labu Labi is off the beaten track. We were looking for such a location and definitely not disappointed. The welcome was very warm, the room very spacious with huge windows facing the sea a few meters in front of us. Like everywhere in Langkawi beware of jelly fish in the sea. We enjoyed staying at Labu Labi without a car but if you like to be more active a car would be a plus, actually a must.

Perfect piece of peace!”

My husband, daughter (2) and I stayed at Labu Labi for 7 nights in Feb 2018, we had a triple bungalow on the Scarborough Fish and Chips side of the residence. Bibi who runs the place was friendly, cautious and helpful at all times. It was clean, simple and well presented. The door opened out into a small terrace area with steps down to a gorgeous beach. The restaurant near by we’re happy to serve our breakfast drinks to us on our terrace (they would pass them over the fence when they were ready) and we often had a drink/snack there. There were Indian and Malay/Thai hawker stalls/restaurants nearby that we got takeaways from on a couple of occasions. It is a very peaceful location if you are looking to just rest on a quiet beach. We used Grab/Uber to get around on the rest of the island which was cheap/easy enough (a scooter would’ve been great but not something I would do with a 2 year old!). Perfect.

We spent 8 night at Bibi's Place and we enjoyed every minute of it! Bibi and her Family are very kind and to their best. The room's are clean, big and direct at the beach. If we can go back to langkawi, we would defiantly stay at the Labu Labi Residence!

Exceptional”

We had an amazing stay at Labu Labi! Very laid back environment with comfortable beds and clean rooms. Perfect location to relax and just hang out all day and enjoy and the incredible view. Our kids loved the parrots behind the residence. There is a cafe that serves food all day (very well priced) on site so there is not need to go anywhere. Will definitely stay again!

Peaceful, Relax, Clean and Away from all Crowds”

This is the resort that is NOT for people who wants, classy resort, with good classy feelings, convenient access to places of attraction, near to necessities, shopping, night life and a lot of food. Labu-Labi is a very near to nature, almost unexplored beach, peaceful & relax, far away from crowds, just you, the seaview, sound of wave and the cup of drinks in your hand. Not to mention the Beautiful Sunset view. We love the fact that this place is very clean, every morning there will be a beach cleaner, going round the beach and the room is very nicely maintained. Very complete amenities, body shampoo, hair shampoo, complimentary drinks, coffee n tea, water kettle ..... etc. The Wifi is perfect, there's a router is EVERY ROOM, TV comes with ASTRO but then again, who cares, you will be out of the room to enjoy the view whenever you can. Aircon works really well and there's also a water heater shower with very good water pressure. (This is the few things you always read to be problematic in chalet hotels) There's a nice good lazy chair right in front of the chalet for a perfect Sunset view. For meal convenience there's a nice Western Restaurant <1min of walking, Scarborough Fish & Chips Restaurant. If you like Water Sports, there's a Water Sport Club nearby, just <1min walk down the beach. Downside: The lobby is having a renovation and it will caused bad first impression but once you're in the chalet room, everything is forgotten. You need to drive at least 30mins to everywhere you go so to stay here you need transport.

great place with great view”

We had a wondeful stay at Labu Labi. The room is spacious and clean with every basic thing that you need. The beach outside our room is so beautiful, clean and quiet. How nice it was we were able to enjoy our breakfast and great view on the veach every morning during our stay. We will come back to Labu Labi if we visit to Langkawi again. Lisa who call herself a 'moveable reception' is very friendly and helpful. We really hope that Labu Labi can be continuously maintained well with its' nice natural enviroment to make every guest a comfortable and unforgetable stay.

Resort fronting the beautiful Tanjung Rhu's beach”

We had a pleasant stay at Labu Labi Residence Resort. The resort is quite, clean and very comfortable. The care-taker of the resort is very helpful and sweet. The resort is fronting the beautiful private sandy beach of Tanjung Rhu and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset from our resort. The resort is very near to the organiser of the mangrove boat cruise and do not forget to visit the Tanjung Rhu beach as you will be mesmerised to see the beautiful Tanjung Rhu beach from another angle. However, when we talk about food and shopping...not much choice available at Tanjung Rhu area and we have to take about 30 minutes to 1 hour journey to Pantai Cenang or Kuah for food or shopping.
