Great location and comfortable stay”
I just finished staying four nights at Laon Inn Gion Nawate in early February 2019. My stay was perfect! First off, the location is fantastic, just a couple minutes down the road from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Line. You're also in easy walking distance to Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Railway and all the shopping and nightlife nearby. As the hotel is in Gion, you're obviously in close distance to all the temples, shrines, and culture found in Southern Higashiyama, as well as being close to the Kama River, Pontocho, etc. I really can't say enough good things about the location. As far as my stay was concerned, the room was large and comfortable, and I liked the convenience of having washing machines and dryers on the first floor (though the dryers could use a cleaning). What I liked most was the staff was helpful yet hands-off. They only clean your room or empty your trash when you request it. Frankly, I liked the privacy and comfort that allowed.

This hotel is located about 100m from the commuter/subway station. Which makes it easier for those who use public transport. Many eateries around the hotel. It's location in the Gion area only steps away from Gion corner, Shirakawago river, philosophy walk and a few beautiful temples. We booked 2 rooms at the ground floor. Rooms are sparkling clean. Toilets and bathroom are separated. Very convenient. They have left luggage service for free. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

This is a great little hotel in amazing location. It's not luxurious but we'll set up with clean, comfortable, practically designed rooms. Wifi excellent. Staff always obliging. Highly recommended. I will choose this hotel agsin for future trips to Kyoto.

Bang for your buck”
We got this room for super cheap so it's definitely really good for your money. The location is right near the Gion-Shijo train station and some bus stops so it's very convenient. It's also within walking distance of Nishiki Market and all the shopping. Rooms are clean and simple and the staff is super friendly. They do eco-servicing so if you want room service, you need to tell them the day before. For 4 nights, we just got the room fully cleaned once. If you need new towels, just ask at the front desk.

staff is nice and helpful. the olny thing is the aircond function only in 1 setting. if you change to heater from aircond is ok but when u change back to heater you need to tell reception to reset.

Room : triple room is small for three people; need to re-arrange the table to partially open a large and a medium suitcase. Bathroom is also small. Room is clean but will not be cleaned daily unless you request for it a day before. Location : very accessible; 1-2mins to keihan gion shijo station; 1-2mins to gion keihan bus station; 3-5 mins to gion bus station. near family mart. near gion corner. 5mins to yasaka shrine. laundry area and vendo machine in the same room as the smoking area (enclosed) so you'll smell cigarette smoke when you enter the room

Great location with reasonable price”
The hotel locates near Gion-shijo station of Keihan train; it takes only 2-3 minutes walk. However, it is still easy to access Kawaramachi of Hankyu train within 5 minutes. The hotel is in the shopping area which make accessing to convenience store or restaurants became easy. The room is clean but the size is quite small that we cannot open the luggage widely(not sure whether it is due to adding extra bed or not). The staff provide well services.

My son and I enjoyed our stay here. It is a small place situated in Gion, within easy walking distance of a number of attractions. The rooms are a decent size, spotless and have airconditioning that is easily workable without knowing Japanese (that mind sound odd but believe me you will appreciate it!) The beds are very comfortable. Close to many food options. Only advice I would give booking this place is to consider getting a taxi from Kyoto station if arriving by train, It was about 1400 yen. The accomodation is on a narrow side street and think it would be tricky to find would put a point of reference. Once you know where you are it is easy to navigate.
