Amazing hotel and service's with stunning bay”
Such a perfect getaway. Located in Lamai bay, the 'park lane' of koh Samui, the location is ideally positioned on the beach. the bay stretches as far as the eye can see, which only reaches thigh high for 1/2 a mile. The food at the restaurant was delicious and staff couldn't be more helpful. To add a very special touch... at 7.20 every night the staff celebrate the day with a lantern burning ceremony which is so beautiful and romantic... a total must for anyone wanting a little piece of heaven. Oh, and the pool suite was amazing - totally devine and highly recommended.

Wonderful experience”
My second visit to Samui. The first time i stayed at a resort in Chaweng, and never really found myself relaxing. This time it was great, spent days by the pool reading a book, forgetting all about work back home. The only negative about staying in Lamai is that the Samui taxi service is very expensive. Drivers inflate prices beyond belief, unlike Bangkok taxi drivers... but if that's the only negative about the trip then I guess it was a pretty good experience overall!! I've got nothing bad to say about Gurich/Meridian.

So So So Good!”
We had an amazing stay at Le Meridien Koh Samui in January and cannot wait to go back. The veranda room we booked was fantastic. Enclosed balcony with a couch, large bedroom with a huge bed, then a hallway through to the indoor/outdoor bathroom. There is a huge bath and a rain shower which is slightly uncovered so you can see the stars or the bright blue sky while you are showering. But even though the rooms were great we barely spent much time there as the pool is just amazing. Great beds around the pool looking straight out over the pontoon in the ocean which is only for hotel guests. Great staff, poolside drinks are really good and we can't wait to go back.

Luxury hotel beautifully designed”
We stayed at Langham Place for the last two nights of our holiday and can highly recommend it. The staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible from offering cooling towels or a refreshing fruit kebab by the poolside to their ceremonial fire ballon release in the evening with a free cocktail thrown in.The pool area is very comfortable including giant lilo's which you dont want to leave. There is a small beach in front of the hotel but its not the best in Samui. There is a shuttle bus in to Chewang or Lamai each night. Personally we prefer Chewang as there seems to be better restaurants( plus we spent 7 nights there in jan so probably know it better)

Attention to detail”
a beautiful small hotel where attention to detail in its design and service were the highlight of our stay. we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful unpretentious asian architecture, a rarity in its non-kitsch version. the continuous care of our bedroom, preparing it to protect us against the ever present mosquitoes, or tiding it up more than once a day, or the endless offering of free water, or the many activities of the day, or the spectacular "celebration of the day", made our stay worth it regardless of the muddy sea of koh samui and the absurdly priced taxis.

Very private and serene”
We had an excellent stay. The hotel is small but has all we needed (pool, gym, restaurant!) the beach is narrow, but most guests used the pool anyways. You can walk to other restaurants or massage spas (better deal offsite). The only problem was we got ants in our room. Definitely dont bring any food into the room! After this Le Meridien, we checked into the Le Meridien in Phuket. They are like night and day. Hard to believe they are the same brand!!

Charming Resort”
We had stayed in Private Pool villa in other resort (also in Koh Samui) before, but Gurich Samui is really the most excellent one we ever stayed. The pool is large enough to swim and we can enjoy a beautiful seaview from there! Their service is just fabulous, we even don't need to ask and they will do all the things for you!

Beautiful Resort”
The resort itself was beautiful, it was just the right size so there were not to many people around but it had everything that you would need. The staff in particular were just lovely and very helpful. We stayed six nights in a plunge pool villa which was spectacular. We had an issue with the hot water on the first night which the staff ensured was fixed asap. The pool and restaurant were great. We would definately recommend this resort to anyone staying in Koh Samui.

Fantastic Hotel, Very professional staff”
We spent a total of 10 days at this fantastic hotel, having good food, super friendly and efficient staff. Our room was very beautiful, large and quiet. The pool area is very nice and we spent quite a few happy hours at its borders! Well prepared drinks and fabulous snacks did the rest! We had a car and travelled around the island during our stay, knowing that the hotel doesn't have a large and nice beach. There are wonderful beaches very close to it, though. On our next holiday in Samui we will definitely return to this hotel.

Lovely bed and pear on the beach”
we stayed 4 nights at le meridien nov 16-20 after we've been in one yoga detox center and we chose this one only because it was close enough to the spa resort where we took another detox program and we were eating (spacial row food ) in radiance restaurant. so, we didn't eat or drink anything at le meridien and i don't really know how it is. we were happy with: the room is well decorated and the size is big enough. it is divided almost in half into indoor and outdoor area. toilet, shower, bath tube is all at outdoor open area, with an open terrace at the main entrance. nice touch but do be careful of insects if you are the insects magnet type. indoor furniture is nice in classic asian style and the bed is very, very comfortable. we were not happy with: the hotel transfer. it is too expensive. they charged tb for any distance and there is no free transfer at all (it doesn't matter the distance). so, we asked the previous resort for transfer to this one and they took us only tb (because we were close) and then on the last day we took a taxi to the airport for tb!

Really nice room”
Used to be the Langham now Gurich Samui. Nice property located in Lamai Beach. Beach not so nice at the hotel. Wanted an apple one day to munch on, hotel charged me $5 USD for that privledge. Rediculous! Otherwise pool side suite was really worth the extra price for an upgrade. Included breakfast which was so so not great and closed at 10am too early for late sleepers. Wanted to stay one more night but they could not accomodate because of big wedding party. Nice place a scooter ride away from Chaweng beach.

Exceptional”
Very helpful staff, I got sick on my first day and the hotel staff took care of me to the max they took me to the hospital and made sure everything was ok with me, they kept asking about me and send me complementary food and drinks for the rest of my stay although I was sick only for one day... honestly the best treatment ever from hotel staff. 5 stars standard. Very clean. Good location. Good food. Extremely helpful staff. Definitely I’ll stay there again on my next trip to Samui.

Great hotel but no beach.”
if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing get away then this is a great place to go! the rooms are a fantastic blend of eastern style with western luxury (although occasionally the ladies may find the lighting a little too dark) overall i would rate the hotel as a 4 out of 5 for the following reasons; for a 5* hotel i felt that the service was sometimes average, while the staff were always very friendly and willing to help and assist they lacked occasionally the urgency that one usually associates with a 5* resort. from experience this can be the thai way sometimes so you just have to go with it and relax. (something i notice a couple of other guests were unable to do!) i also found the food and drink in the hotel restaurant quite expensive, while it was always very good, if you are staying there for a week the bill at the end it will not make pleasant reading - particularly as the cost of staying hotel is already quite a lot! final point was the lack of beach, now technically there is a beach but sadly as there is a natural reef it is not a beach you can just lounge around on and every now and again jump into the sea too cool down type of beach. have no fear though if you are more of a pool person anyway the pool is great and they even have some great double loungers so you can share with your loved one - just need to get in early as there are only a few. in a nutshell my advice to make this visit would be to hire a scooter and drive around the island to enjoy the fantastic beaches and great local eateries that koh samui has to offer! will definitely go back!!

A mixed bag”
Having recently stayed at the 'Sala Samui Beach Resort' we found the Langham (which is similarly priced) to be a bit of a mixed bag. When we arrived we had an overly long introduction to the resort which seemed to take forever - when all we wanted was to cool down in our room. Once we reached the room we were impressed by it's striking oriental design (more Chinese influenced than 'Beach resort'). We had a lovely time sending off a hot-air 'wish' balloon from their shallow pond filled with lights which look like stars ... however, the romance stopped abruptly there. Once we went to dinner (which was not cheap by Koh Samui standards - but still ultimately good value) we were seated in a lovely table by the edge of the pool. Once our starters arrived Forest Gump started playing very loudly on a screen at the edge of the pool... which was extremely distracting while we attempted to have a romantic dinner while the Vietnam section of Forrest Gump played on in the background (BOOM! Da da da da da. KABOOM! Etc...). We noticed that no one was actually watching the film and asked if they could stop it. The Matradee come over and said the films can not be stopped, period (regardless that no one was watching). Suffice to say it was a pretty frustrating and unromantic dinner by the time it reached the scene where Forrest Gump's love interest was shooting up heroin and considering suicide. I would definitely recommend 'Sala Samui' over The Langham by a considerable margin.

Your own private piece of paradise ”
The entrance to the hotel is absolutly amazing, greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Our accommodation was the terrace suite which was excellent. The room had a private plunge pool / spa which was very refreshing especially during the heat of the day. The resteraunt overlooks the main swimming pool and onto the beach, accompanied by great quality food and excellent service. Highly recommend the Le Meridien hotel group.

Nice Hotel”
we went there after samui flood. it is a pity that the floating platform has been destroyed. nice and cozy room with plunge pool. but careful with mosquitos. they still fly into your room even though the hotel has been very thoughtful in lighting up the mosquito coils in the hall and bathroom. thai food from cha restaurant is excellent.

A few days in paradise”
We spent 5 wonderful days at the resort. The Plunge pool room has a wonderful layout, spacious with 3 sections, I.e living room, ac bedroom and pool, shower, toilet area. Overall, the bedroom was comfortable, and the bed is the kind you just sink into. The pillows and mattress were a tad soft for my liking though. The plunge pool is a nice size with jacuzzi jets, but one of the jets wasn't really working properly. Since this section is open, only issue faced was the mosquitos which the resort tried to control with aroma scents and mosquito coils to no avail. Can be quite a problem if you are sensitive to bites. Overall, it's a great hotel. Staff are attentive and friendly, although service may be varied. E.g the GM Tina would mingle with guests guests at breakfast and some staff would remember our orders each morning or go the extra mile. Not all the staff are equally attentive though. This happened at checkout, where we were not told that our unlimited WIFI access would immediately cease. They arranged our airport transfer and knew that we had another 2 hours to wait at the resort before leaving for the airport. So rather than for me to find out I had no WIFi and walk back to the front desk to ask for another 2 IDs, it would have been nice if they could have just asked me if I needed it till the car came. Also, I had to go up to them again at the appointed time to check if my transport was ready even though they saw me waiting at the bar area. Just gives me the impression that once we checkout, the service service levels also check out. :-(

amazing thai delight by the sea”
i had read many a review before picking this hotel. All the great things you hear are very true. the location is private (youi almost miss the entrance), the service is second to none. Food at the restaurant is wonderful but pricey compared with lamai and chaweng. we had a poolside villa- if you can afford the little extra go with this....you have your own pool 24/7-yes we even went in the pool at 3am and no one cared! the cocktail list at the bar is limited and expensive. it's pricey to stay here but so so worth it!

Comfortable, quiet, and friendly staff~”
We like our stay at Le Meridien Koh Samui. The friendly staff treated us very well. On my girlfriends birthday, we received 2 cakes, one from the management and one from th restaurant where we had the birthday dinner. The pier they set up at the beach was great. So nice to dine in the ocean and under the star, the dinner setting cannot be any better than that. The room was big and comfortable, heavy on the Asian/Chinese decor, and it is surrounded by lush landscape and gardens, providing a great sense of privacy.

Beautiful hotel”
Alltough the weather was not the best one. (Tropical storm and flood in march 2011) The serveice of the staff was exellent. In addition to that the hotel was extremely beautiful. If i'm ever coming back to Samui, this hotel wuold definetly be the place to stay.
