Hilton Garden Inn Singapore Serangoon

"Although I had booked a King, I got 2 King Singles. Staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was well maintained all throughout my stay and the housekeeping staff were very friendly. Well situated in Little India, not far from the Mustafa Centre, all the little stores, offering everything from clothes to electronics and all the great little Indian cafes and restaurants. Also close to the MRT for easy access to the city, surrounds and all the attractions. Would definitely stay there again."

Mayo Inn (Staycation Approved)

"This hotel is in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from two different MRT stations. It makes getting to the airport on the mrt very easy and cheap. There are plenty of places to eat nearby as well as shops to buy drinks and snacks. It is a quick walk to Bugis street, Arab street and little India. The room I a reasonable size with good storage. The bed is clean and comfortable. The bathroom has a good shower with plentiful hot water. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. There is also a fridge in the room as well as a kettle and tea and coffee. Two bottles of water are provided each day. The air conditioning is efficient. The bonus for us was the complimentary breakfast on the rooftop. There were three options and we loved the steamed buns and egg option washed down with tea and coffee. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We will be back. Thankyou for a great stay."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Park 22 hotel in Little India. The location is great, and the main reason we chose the hotel. There are plenty of reasonably priced food options in the area, which is very welcome in an expensive location like Singapore. The MRT station is very close to the hotel, which makes getting to all the main areas that you would want to visit very easy. If you get a room at the front of the hotel, be aware that it is very noisy at night and very early in the morning. Not great for a light sleeper. "

One Farrer Hotel (SG Clean)

"Brand new facilities. It's the best hotel in the Farrer park area. This hotel will surely put those hotels around to deep shame. You don't feel like you are in little India within the hotel. The surrounding hotels around in little India and Farrer park are dated and probably noisy. This hotel has nice, alluring ambient scent. Great swimming pool with jacuzzi by the side. 24 hours spacious and new gym facilities. Room is a tad too small with a King bed. Bay window to tall ceiling. Double glazed window with great sound insulation from the noise outside! Love it. Huge LED screen in room with smart tv and remote control for the room facilities. Free wifi connection although there were moments the connection dropped and was stucked.Bathroom is wheelchair friendly but also makes it a design flaw with water splashing and spilling all over the bathroom. Toilet seat has a bidet wash seat, doing away from the regular bidet but is already showing signs of wear and tear. Bathroom lacked ventilation fan which resulted in moulding at the bathroom ceiling. Free minibar Pringles nuts and gummies with illy coffee machine and twg tea. Room has motorized sensor roller blind for complete blackout for a good night sleep. Room is quiet with no disturbing ambient noise - unlike other hotels. Staff were generally friendly and respectful and service prompt. Breakfast spread is reasonable in its selection and presentation of the buffet is classy. Love the yoghurt and the juices selection. The sunny side up prepared by the girls on duty were 5 star! Coffee prepared in bodum French press. Overall 4.8 stars for me. Highly recommended hotel."

Hotel 81 Dickson (SG Clean Certified and Staycation Approved)

"Arrived about 1am. Unfortunately I had to pay for an extra night because of early check-in, but then I should have known this. Otherwise this was a very nice hotel, clean, friendly and helpful service and a great location in Little India. Close to great food choices 'round and about and a very interesting district in Singapore. Close to the Little India MRT station for inexpensive and easy access to other parts of Downtown Singapore. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again without thinking twice! Booking with Agoda was a breeze and the price was right. No complaints!"

Arianna Hotel

"it was a pleasent stay at arianna hotel. the room is rather small. if you are travelling in a family of 3 kids, you may want to book 2 rooms. it is cheap, very clean and best of all they provide free wifi. location wise is strategic for shoppers as mustafa centre is right opposite. if you are driving, they do not provide parking space, so you have to use coupon parking. parking is quite easy to find. plenty of food outlets available within walking distance. easily accessible. nearest mrt station (ferrer park, if i'm not mistaken and little india is about 10 min walk. about 5 min drive to arab street and bugis street as well as masjid sultan. 10-15 min drive to orchard road and geylang."

"on transit and found this newly renovated hostel in Jalan Besar at a great deal on agoda. apparently it's run by a new management and it's a pretty neat concept hostel. very spacious hostel with lots of windows, and the lounge was a great place to relax and hang out especially over breakfast. facilities was excellent - 1st hostel i stayed with a treadmill. absolutely loved it. i took a while to find the hostel.. but once you reached the hostel, it is actually pretty easy to get around. nearest mrt is farrer park station and i realised that the best way is to walk through city square mall."

More about Little India

Singapore’s Indian community lives north of the city center. This is an attractive corner of the city that draws plenty of tourists. There are many hotels in Little India for visitors who plan on spending time in the bazaars and restaurants here.

There aren’t many touristy attractions in Little India, but the neighborhood itself is fascinating and well worth exploring. The most visited building is Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, which dates to the 19th century. The temple comes alive with devotees on weekends and Tuesdays. On other days, the scene is relatively quiet. The area is also tied up in colonial history, with sites like KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, which delivered half of all babies born in Singapore in the 1930s.

Most of the commerce in Little India takes place in traditional bazaars. Serangoon Road (Racecourse Road) is the main avenue, with several markets arrayed on its side streets. Silk textiles, handicrafts, spices and jewelry are all popular purchases. The City Square Mall, an eco-friendly shopping center, is east of Serangoon Road.

Hotels in Little India fill up quickly during the Deepavali Festival, held late in the year (usually October). It’s the local festival of lights, and it’s a great time for anyone with an interest in the Indian community to visit Singapore. Thaipusam Festival, held on a full moon early in the year, is another worthwhile time to visit.

Local restaurants serve mainly spicy South-Indian fare, but it’s possible to sample flavors from all over the subcontinent. The nightlife is low-key here, but there are a few British-style pubs on Serangoon Road that stay open late.
