\Neighbouring the Nozawa Onsen Snow Resort, Lodge Nakajima is a 1-minute walk from the slopes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and JR Togari Nozawaonsen Train Station is a 15-minute drive away. Cosy Japanese-style rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring, traditional futon bedding and a low table. Each comes with an electric kettle, a green tea set and a flat-screen TV. Bathrooms and toilets are shared with other guests. Guests at Nakajima Lodge can use the luggage storage service, the coin launderette and the ski storage service. Vending machines can also be found on site. Ski equipment can be rented at the ski rental shop located next door. Eggs and bread are served at the dining area for breakfast. Nice ski in ski out location, not fare from the village centre.
No place to relax. No possibility to order a coffee for breakfast. I dining option in the evening.

one has to keep in mind that this is a family run lodge and not a hotel. very cozy and wonderful family

Location is great for the gondola, but it does mean you get a lot of snow cat / plough noise at night.
Everything apart from the location. Welcome and staff generally frosty / zero omotenashi. I expect with the location opposite the gondola they don’t need to try / will always have business, and therefore don’t bother with that. Onsen cold.

Great location for slopes/gondola. Clean toilets. Decent bath.
Couldn’t get the voucher from GoToTravel, which was for 15pct of the booking, and couldn’t get a human being at Booking.com to respond to my multiple enquirers about it. So the trip ended up costing us more than expected.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was AMAZING! We looked directly onto one of the main gondolas and could basically ski to the lodge door. The rooms were nice and cosy and the onsen was great too

A comfortable simple clean little lodge. Would definitely stay there again.”

Location is exceptional. Very clean throughout. Drying room was excellent and warm and smelled great despite previous years reviews saying it was smelly. Also great to have a tuning area and wax iron. Staff were helpful and friendly. Blankets and bedding comfortable and smelled good.
A fridge in the room would have been handy. Communal bath/onsen was covered up in the morning despite notice saying it would be open for a couple hours in the morning. The hand washing/teeth cleaning basins did not have paper towels to dry your hands. These were located instead in the toilets.

We were told breakfast was included in our booking and this was confirmed at check in then we where hit with a bill when we checked out for a breakfast neither of I liked. Lesson learned

Fantastic location right at the gondola. Meals were great with the traditional Japanese dinners an authentic treat. Dinner must be booked in advance/no walk-ins
A small but annoying concern was that the drying room really didn’t dry the ski gear very well and the odour in there was well beyond the usuals drying room stench, really “funky-can’t be good for your health-putrid”. We ended taking most gear up to our rooms where it dried better and without the smell

Perfect spot for skiing. Clean and well thought out.”

Perfect for skiing. Right across the lodge. The breakfast was generous for 1000 yen. Lunch is only 850 yen for guests. Very helpful staff. The Onsen within the lodge was a bonus. So good for soaking after a day on the slopes.

Location, location, location”

10 out of 10 for position, opposite the Nagasaka Gondola, truly ski-in. Rooms are well maintained and heated. Fluffy, thick kakebuton (duvets). Toiletry baskets are provided for visiting public onsen. Rooms serviced/new towels alternate days.
No slippers or yukata are provided and the kakebuton lack covers. Walls/doors paper thin. Hold your breath going into the drying room! Small lounge area; could do with a microwave. Hotel car park is 200m away and the road is closed to cars.

Ski to your door. Top brekky. Lovely family run lodge, English speaking Japanese staff. PERFECT!”

Breakfast was perfect! western or japanese option. The western option was a fried egg, hashie, spring roll, chippies cooked hot when you came down and a buffet of fruit, toast, spreads (jam and vegemite), tea and coffee. It was perfect!
The only thing that could have been better was the wifi. Everything else was tops!
