True Thailand”

long beach chalet koh lanta having already stayed on phuket and phi phi, we were becoming a little disenchanted with thailand. it appeared over crowded, over priced and over rated. but on arriving at koh lanta everything changed… what a little gem of a place long beach chalet is. the photographs we had seen do not appear to do the reviews justice, we stayed here on the reviews alone. they were not wrong! this place is thailand just as we had hoped for. only completed in the october 2011 tam and his family have got a winning formula that the rest of thailand could learn from. from the moment we checked in until the moment we left we loved every minute. the staff are incredibly warm and hospitable, from the owners to the chalet maids and gardeners everyone one greets you with a smile and truly cares to make your stay the best it can be. the chalets are immaculate, rustic and chic, yet totally home from home, attention to detail and quality of fixtures and fittings are better quality than we found in much more expensive accommodation. the hotel’s restaurant the three mums… what can we say? probably the best thai food you will ever taste!!! mum’s home cooking is simply amazing, in the words of bbc’s masterchef’s greg wallace “cooking doesn’t get better than this!” the evening option for the set meal will not disappoint either. a couple of hundred metres from the beach, where you can bask in the sun, and drink happy hour cocktails all day at the beach bars, walk along miles of empty beaches…it really is paradise. our short stay at long beach chalet totally changed our minds about thailand.

The place to stay at”

Long Beach Chalet is the place to stay if you're in Koh Lanta. Not only is it very reasonably priced, the bungalow is spacious, comfortable and clean with good AC and strong wifi. There is a balcony in each bungalow and there is also some resting space at the bottom of each one with a hammock. The owners speak fluent english and go out of their way to help you. They organised transfers for us, we orginally booked a bungalow for three people in advanced but a few weeks before we flew out to Koh Lanta, we had an extra visitor and they went out of their way to organise extra beds in the bungalow as by then the place was fully booked. They made everything very easy for us, booked our day trips and organised hired vehicles for us. Breakfast was very good, a generous selection was available at their restaurant, The Three Mums, with friendly service. One of the mums came to speak to us in the mornings when we were having breakfast and made us some coconut pancakes on the side, they were nice! There is a small but clean pool in the centre of the bungalows with sun chairs. And a few miniutes walk and you see a nice stretch of beach with white fine sands, beach bars and massages! Going into the main strip of koh lanta where all the main shops were was also very easy. Public taxis are very affordable and are available and is a short 5-10 minute ride away. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this place to people. I loved Koh Lanta a lot, I will definitely come back to the Long Beach Chalet the next time I visit Koh Lanta. Great Experience”

We traveled to Koh Lanta in mid/late November 2015 and stayed at Long Beach Chalet. We loved the location of the resort (central long beach) as we had a lot of options for restaurants and for lounging on the beach. The resort is also located very close to mini marts (great for bottled water and beer) and ATM's. We were also able to book our tours directly from the resort and they made sure we understood time and location of pick up and helped ensured we were picked up on time. We also rented scooters directly from the front desk and it was delivered almost instantly. One of our favorite things was the staff of the resort. The two main restaurant servers were excellent, prompt and ensured we had everything we needed. The masseurs located on the resort/beach front were also great and very friendly. While we were there they also changed their breakfast menu from a basic English Breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast) to a menu with various options (a Thai version of a Eggs Benedict, 3 different omelets, as well as a the standard English Breakfast). We found the food wonderful, filling and a great start to the day. Overall, this resort was perfect for our stay. When we come back to Koh Lanta this is where we will stay for sure. One of the BEST hotel experiences! ”

We spent only two night in the Long Beach Chalet. But those two nights were enough to say that it surely was one of the best hotel-experiences so far. Few words on that. Unfortunately, just before reaching Ko Lanta, my girlfriend suffered from a sever food poisoning - a relatively common health issue in Thailand for someone visiting South East Asia for the first time. Immediately after informing the receptionists about the issue, they offered us individual help. Nurse came to our room with refreshing drinks and medicine. Two extremely friendly women (turned out to be the owners of Long Beach Chalet) took us with their private car to the nearest clinic, waited to the medical check to be done and drove us back to the hotel. What an amazing and valuable help it was. Thank you! Bungalows are simply stunning. We selected the Garden View house. It was extremely clean. The sleeping section is beautiful, with a surrounding panoramic windows, flat TV screen and comfortable bed. Bathroom is equally impressive, being located in a separate mini-house decorated in Thai-style. Our house had access to almost private pool, located about 300 metres aways from the beach. There is a second pool located right behind the access to the sea. Food is great. Restaurant is a perfect choice for a peaceful dinner and the breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of Asian and European cuisine. In general, Long Beach Chalet is a must choice for anyone travelling through Ko Lanta!

Home on the islands”

We were planning on staying just a couple of nights in Koh Lanta after an island hopping spree, we ended up by staying more than a week! After many hotels (different categories & places) we found home in K. Lanta and the Long Beach Chalet. The Staff and especially the perfect english speaking management went out of their way to help us feel at home! We ate there several times and found the food good enough to keep on coming back... although we didn't like the restaurant on the beach front, but they just opened so needs time! The location is quite central, although K. Lanta is best when visited on a motorcycle... so don't hesitate to rent one at the hotel. The Beach is beautiful... perfect for sunsets and morning runs... We'll be back to Lanta some day and definitely staying here again!

Service experience that a 5 star hotel can't offer”

Where can we start? We had such a lovely time at Long Beach Chalet that we were sad to leave after a three night stay. The rooms were tastefully furnished and were very clean, and the toilet was separated from the bedroom, which was great. The bungalow was elevated on stilts, leaving a chill out space below with cushions and a hammock that we spent the nights just chatting away.. an awesome feature! But what sets this place apart from the rest is the service we received from our hosts, Tam and his mom Pui. They made us feel so welcomed and comfortable during our stay, it felt like a home away from home. And they really go the extra mile - in our first night having dinner at the main town area, we couldn't find a taxi to bring us back. I gave Tam a call and he drove down personally to rescue us from the long walk back! The food at their small restaurant was so lovely, prepared by Pui and her sister.. very delicious and done from the heart. If you are looking for a great place to relax and enjoy your time at Koh Lanta even if you're not on a budget, this is definitely the place to go. Thanks Tam and Pui for the most wonderful stay, we'll definitely be back when we visit Koh Lanta again!

Great Bungalow, Pool and Beach”

We were unsure where to stay in Koh Lanta. We finally booked at Long Beach Chalet and it was a good decision with the cons of course. We managed to get a budget garden bungalow/loft. And it was awesome!!! I was unsure about it but the bathroom is brand new, the bungalow is clean and very cute. It’s gets hot fast so you’ll need to wait for your AC to cool it down. The bathroom is separate and outside but it’s enclosed which is fine. Cool hammock and sitting area underneath but kinda useless when it’s 40 degrees out. The infinity pool here is what you pay for. Amazing. The beach is also very nice. I would say though that the ocean beach is steep and deep fast. Not super calm either, there are always waves. The restaurant Lym’s at the resort is good. But it is expensive in comparison to others on the beach. The drinks are especially way more imo. Lastly, the resort itself is on the main road but it’s a solid 15min walk down the road in the dying heat to a 7-11 or more pubs/restaurants. Not great to be honest. Not in the heart of the action here but that’s Koh Lanta in a nutshell. Rent a scooter. There’s also 1 other pool in the garden area. Very nice and new. The road/reception garden bungalow area to the beach is a 3-5min walk. Not far. Mosquitos were okay and we used our net in the bungalow, we saw a few for sure.

Looked at Koh Lanta and specifically Long Beach for a chill holiday”

Looked to get away from Phuket for a week and were very glad we did. Koh Lanta has a relaxed vibe and Long Beach Chalet really added to that. It is on the best beach and has a good mix of budget ( although budget was pretty good)and more expensive beachfront dwellings. It is not crowded and has two pools with loads of seating from on the sand back to the pools. The breakfast was really really good and the staff were always wonderful. Long beach has wonderful sunsets and there are restaurants on the beach along from the resort. Hired a scooter for a day to tour the island and never felt in danger as the general traffic seems to be calm and orderly. Overall a brilliant week. Many thanks to Long Beach Chalet.

Best hospitality I have ever experienced!”

We had such a great time on the sleepy island of Koh Lanta. Long Beach Chalet was a beautiful family owned resort where the staff will bend over backwards to make sure that you are happy. Everything was extremely fair priced from drinks to tours. At times I felt like my own grandmother was doting over me. I cannot say enough good things about Long Beach Chalet. You can find more beautiful resorts and better locations but you will not find better service on Lanta or perhaps in all of Thailand. Thank you so much, we will certainly return some day!

Clean rooms, value for money, good food and location”

The rooms at Long Beach Chalet were well maintained and very clean. The staff was friendly. They had a great breakfast spread and the food served at the other restaurant was also tasty. The hotel has easy beach access and two swimming pools. They also have bikes that you can hire at a reasonable rate and they helped us organise our onward transport by taxi/ mini van. You can also get a massage at the property. Long Beach Chalet is a lovely place to stay and relax and I would recommend it to anyone going to Koh Lanta.

Wonderful Hotel on Long Beach”

The staff at the Long Beach Chalet was unbelievable. Everyone was so friendly and very attentive to guest needs. While staying there, they treat you like family. The restaurant on site, The 3 Mums prepared delicious home-cooked food and Mum is the sweetest. We love the individula bungalows with the seating and hammock below; perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. We intend on visiting Koh Lanta again soon and will definitely stay a Long Beach Chalet. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

One word- Amazing!”

We absolutely loved Long Beach Chalet. It was been one of our favourite stays ini our entire three week trip around Thailand. The chalets are great and really nicely designed with easy access to the pool which is lovely and very clean. We started in chalet 4 and it had a great view of the pool. The beach is about a 5 'minute walk away from the hotel. We went during low season so a lot of the beach restaurants were closed but there were still some open. I would really recommend watching the sunset from the beach, its truly beautiful. For good local cuisine I can recommend Mr Greens which is a bout a 5 minute ride away in a tuk tuk. Its cheap and very tasty. the local Restuarant at Long Beach chalet is pretty good but slightly more expensive but the portions are large. Breakfast was great with plenty of variety. If you stay here you will not regret it!!

Cute rooms with lots of charm”

we arrived at low season and there were two factors against us: they were doing construction immediately outside our bungalow and the beach was covered in rubbish - you can't possibly imagine. we had booked 11 nights online and were devastated at the thought of having to stay here so long - but tam was understanding and we ended up staying three nights until we could find something else and tam promptly refunded us the other 8 nights. tam's service is excellent and when the renovations are finished by october 2011 the place will be even nicer as they are adding a swimming pool and more bungalows. the bungalows really have charm and are very clean and i definitely recommend them - but beware of low season on long beach because the beach doesn't get cleaned as koh lanta isn't as aware of tourism as other islands...but that's also what makes it a lovely island. if it's low season, i recommend further south on the island in kan tiang bay since that beach does get cleaned.

Exceptional Hotel and Worth Every penny.”

after reading other comments from people who had stayed here, i'm so glad we booked at this hotel. the hotel style of above ground chalets is very unique. we loved it. the grounds, pool and rooms were always kept clean. we really found pooh, the main reception staff member was outstanding. he helped us in everyday possible, even phoning our boat company to get them to pick us up on our departure. the restaurant staff were also excellent. the meals were very good. we got to eat as much as we wanted. the beach is only a 5 min or less walk. the beach area is flat and there are lots of beds to lounge on. lym's rice bowl restaurant is the place to eat and drink during the day. great thai food and again, service with a smile! recommend booking a motorbike and driving into to the main city (10mins). great way to see more of koh lanta.

Best Hotel there is on Koh Lanta”

First they upgraded us to a villa suite for free. It was absolutely amazing! This is paradise! If i die and go to paradise, i think it would be like long beach Chalet, or at least, i hope so! The room is 5 star, The service is 5 star.. The whole stay was a 6 star If possible! If Im coming back to koh lanta, long beach Chalet is the reason!

Beautiful place to stay”

We stayed here for 2 nights at koh lanta. Chalet was big , spacious bathroom. We booked the villa front and had unobstructed view of the beach. It was beautiful. The chalet has jacuzzi which worked well but water was not very clean (which was sort of expected). Staffs are friendly and greeted us everytime they see us. They even remembered our daughter's name and were very helpful. Breakfast was ok but sadly they indicate that we can only have one egg. I requested for additonal eggs but was turned down, so i requested to pay for the additional eggs. It takes about 15 mins to baan saladan but they provide chargeable shuttle at 50baht per pax, which was ok to us. Because of the beautiful view and big room, we would not mind to come back again.

Amazing hotel ”

We loved our stay at long beach chalet, it has two gorgeous pools, resteraunt and the beach is great with good seating, I loved its jungle feel on the beach and the staff where brilliant. The only thing that freaked me out was the wasps in the outside bathroom so if you can afford a room with an inside toilet- book that! Ko Lanta is perfect for families or those looking for a relaxed break, the best thing to do is explore the island by scooter hired through a company with the hotel. Without doing this you will find it’s very small..

Excellent stay”

Long beach Chalet is an excellent place to stay in Koh Lanta. We stayed in a garden loft which is 200m from the beach but we liked it because it is private and has its own pool. You just have a 5 minute walk to the beach and breakfast/restaurant. The included breakfast was top quality. The place is excellent value and we would stay there again.

Phenomenal staff!”

We needed a cheap place to stay for two nights while we house hunted for a long term stay in Koh Lanta. Expecting this to be a cheap 3 star hotel, we were fine with the price. We were wrong! From amazing caring staff (sweetest older lady who took the time to bring me fresh fruit while I waited for a taxi), to another staff member actually finding us a place to stay! The rooms are basic and small, but it adds to the amazing "beach" vibe. You're a short walk down a private path way to a perfect beach with amazing waters. Highly recommend it!

PARADISE”

We loved everything about Long Beach Chalets. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and very clean. The food at the restaurant was delicious, with an amazing view of the beach and sunsets from your table. Would 100% recommend to stay here if visiting Koh Lanta.
