"First impression - you cannot ask for a better combination of sea and mountain because this hotel was majestically situated right between the cliff and a fine, private beach. The environmentally friendly floating pontoon was fun to walk on. The staff was there to greet us with Thai smiles and hospitality. I have been to many hotels around Thailand and I must say that the standard of the services and manner of the staff here is exceptional. They are pleasantly polite and attentive. Our room was spacious, clean and modern and it had a great view of the ocean - a magnificent view at sunset. All in all a memorable, and very special first impression. Traveling to Ao Nang - the monkey trial was dangerously exciting. It takes 15 minutes to cross that small hill to Ao Nang. It is an adventure but really not for elderly people or those with knee problems. DO BRING A TORCH (and insect repellent) - u will need it even if there are lights along the way. Another option is to wait for the low tide and walk across across the beach to Ao Nang - this is an easier option, but again, a torch is a must. We were walking across a knee-level sea water at 7pm; it was very dark and we've never been scared before in our lives! but this adds to the fun tough. Perhaps for those who are less adventurous, you may want to take the hotel shuttle speedboat to Ao Nopparatana and take a 10-min taxi-ride to Ao Nang. On the way back, you can go back to Ao Nopparatana and get the hotel's shuttle speedboat back - do check the schedule of the boat and book in advance. Things to do - you should visit the 4 islands tour, you can buy it either from the hotel (which is understandably more expensive) or you can go to Ao Nang where there are lots of travel agents to choose (between 800-1500 baht). There are both private and group one-day trip you can buy and the price varies accordingly. The price also depends on the type of boats u want - a long tail boat is generally less expensive than a speedboat."

"We arrived at the Sala Talay at about 10.30 and although the check-in time was noon, they gave us our room immediately. We'd booked a Grand View room but there were none free so they upgraded us to a Mangrove Suite which was nice but unfortunately had no view of the sea (the main reason we'd opted for the Grand View room!). We were shifted to a grand view room the next day though and it was great. Rooms were great, spacious and had very comfortable beds. The Grand View room had a lovely balcony with a view of the sea and each room had its own sun loungers in case you didn't want to go down to the pool. The staff were very polite and helpful and made us feel very comfortable at all times. Breakfast was a good spread with eggs made to order, sausages, toast, cereal, muffins plus Thai food and the fruits were simply delicious, especially the pineapples! The spa wasn't very good either - the massage we had there was fairly expensive when compared to the other places in Ao Nang and it wasn't as good. I'd recommend going to the Ao Nang Sunset Hotel especially for their After Beach Massage if you've had a day in the sun! Food at the restaurant was ok; for seafood, I'd suggest going down the road about 100 metres towards Ao Nang to Wang Sai which was very good. The location was the most outstanding part of the hotel for me - right across from the beach and at the end of the Ao Nang strip, almost at Nopparat Thara in fact, so it's very quiet yet not more than a ten minute walk to the restaurants and shops. In all, I was really happy with the Sala Talay and would probably stay here the next time I came to Ao Nang."

"We visited in December looking for a quiet stay and something a little different. Anana was a dream. The Eco mission was great to learn more about. Some companies talk Eco as a marketing spin, but Adana truly exuded healthy and sustainable living. Everything from the morning breakfast to the pool, to the electric car and also the vegan restaurant and farm. This hotel is good for the soul and our planet. Thank you. During our stay, we were stayed in a spa room which was stunning. The room was modern, comfortable and spacious. The bathtub was luxurious and I enjoyed sipping fresh coffee looking out to the cliffs of Ao Nang. Beyond the room, we relaxed in the gorgeous outdoor pool and also made use of the gym, sauna and the private beach. The level of detail was excellent and the service provided to us was 11/10. We were cared for at breakfast and offered the opportunity to visit the local area using the Eco friendly fleet of vehicles available. In particular, Johan was the most dedicated and professional hotel manager we have ever met. He organised everything for us and ensured our stay was everything and more...he asked if we had a favourite food type and then offered to organise food delivery and set up a romantic setting on the garden rooftop for sunset. Wow! Johan thank you so much. We will be back. Anana's vision for tourism is inspiring."

"The villa was amongst a 'kampung' area, perfect for those who wants a peaceful and away-from-town kind of retreat. Convenient location as there was a food mart nearby and opposite it was an agency that had tours, transport and motorcycles for you to book and rent during your stay here. Our host, Sam, and Wife were so friendly and simple wonderful hosts. Highly recommended for families! Had a pleasant and memorable stay! "

"Have a nice stay at the villa with 4 of my friends. Love the private pool that we fully utilised during our stay. There’s android box that you can watch tv and YouTube. Internet speed was great too. If you want to karaoke can just ask them and they will fix it for you. There is a fruit juice shop and a halal shop outside the villa. Only cons is the location about 5.4km away from the beach but they do provide 1 free return trip to Ao Nang beach daily. Just need to inform owner the pick up time. Overall great experience and owner was friendly and nice that will answer and help you with any enquiries. "

"If you want to stay this villa, renting the car is essential. The location is way far from the main street and when i walked out of the gate for jogging, i was chased by four big dogs on the street. That four or five big dogs occationally jumpped into the villa and we were very afraid of our kids safety. Nevertheless Miss Ching, the villa manager was the best manager i ever met. Our family visited Thailand once a year but never met someone like her. She is very good at English, very fast and ready for 24 hours. Our family asked for prive tour and she introduced the best guide in Krabi. We had a wonderful time in Hong island paying less than USD 600 for renting a speed boat for whole day. The pool and bbq were very clean and the maid were nice. Some of equipment in the kitchen need to be replced. Generally our big family had a great time in this villa. Strongly recommended if you can drive a car or a bike in Krabi. "
