Swissotel Nankai Osaka
Namba,Osaka - View on map
"Swissotel Nankai Osaka is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Japan - it is to me on par with Frasers Residence Nankai Osaka, with the only exception being Frasers Residence has washing machines in their apartments, which are super convenient. First of all, the location. The hotel is located right above Namba Station. If you are taking the Rapit or Nankai Airport Express, the hotel entrance is on the left of the Central exit. If you have lots of luggage to carry, there is a hotel phone on Platform 9 - just call and they will come down to help you with your luggage! Namba Station is also the intersection for other subways, including Midosuji line. It is a great base to explore Osaka and Kyoto from. Next is the room size. I can safely say it is the biggest hotel room I have stayed in Japan before (and I have been to Japan numerous times, trying out various hotels like Tokyo Metropolitan Hotel). The rooms are newly renovated in 2011 and has cool amenities like a Nespresso coffee machines. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. My only grouse is that if you do not completely finished a tube of toiletries, they would not replace it with a new one. I ended up with no shower gel at one time when I left an almost empty tube of shower gel in the shower and the Housekeeping did not replace it with a new one. The service at the hotel is also excellent - I was served twice by Concierge, who was knowledgeable and spoke very good English. She recommended us to lunch places even as far as Kyoto and gave us specific instructions down to the subway ticket price. Everyone from the FOA to the Bellboy was courteous and friendly - this hotel by far has the best service I've ever experienced on a holiday."

Hotel New Otani Osaka
Osaka Castle & Kyobashi,Osaka - View on map
"We were blown away by this hotel. Walking into the magnificent lobby in our casual sight-seeing clothes we actually felt a little underdressed. Perhaps the excellent rate for which we booked the room through Agoda allowed us to stay somewhere a little more classy than we would otherwise - as make no mistake this is a classy hotel. We were immediately surrounded by helpful staff offering to take our luggage and assist us with checking in. Much to our surprise some very petite young women were employed as porters and I felt quite guilty as our porter struggled to get our pieces of luggage on and off the baggage cart - I couldn't help but assist her with them. Once we got to our room the best feature became clear with a commanding view of Osaka-jo Castle and Osaka-jo-koen park - which only got better as the sun set and the castle was lit up. This happened to be our last night on a 3 week Japan holiday and we couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay."

InterContinental Hotel Osaka
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"I extended my trip so after coming back from Kobe and also st Regis in Osaka . We found a room at intercon again. One reason ... Well it's cheaper than st Regis ... I would say value for money both hotel are good ... And I shouldn't compare both in this comment . But let me tell u Y this place is good . First stay ... Normal room which is Hugh ... I never and cannot stay at room smaller than 25 sqm so this room here is like almost 50 sq.m When we check in 2nd time ... We somehow got upgrade to a twice bigger room I think it must be some executive suite with club benefit as it was on club floor ... NO one a informed us that we were upgraded or got club benefit ... But somehow ... We kinda know after we got into our room... Think it seems 100 sqm ! Rooms were awesome at 50 sqm and it was perfect at 100 sqm .. Club is one of the best anywhere as I tried many club rooms at others around the world ... And the quality that comes close is only the langham in HK ... Free flow champagne , all those small bites , good selection of sake , wine , and really good staff .. Asked them about restaurants from my room ( concierge ) when I informed them I will go to club before go out to dinner ... Maps and info are send to club staff and I was attended there without going to lobby and ask concierge ... Definitely one of the BEST hotel and service anywhere ... And I do a travel show for 10 years !! 👍👌"

The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"We moved from an Agoda pre-booked Monterey Osaka hotel which was way below minimum expectation. After a sleepless night of discomfort due to the rough bed, and terrible pillows, and staying only for a couple of nights in Osaka, the nearest, easiest plan was the Ritz. Absolutely great as usual, impeccable service. Yes, it was double the price, but having a room three times the size, absolute cleanliness, comfortable beds and service was prevalent. Recommended with highest ratings."

Hotel Hankyu International
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"For the price that we paid, I was not expecting a luxury hotel. I felt like I was staying at a 4+ star hotel on a 3 star price. The hotel was fantastic and walking distance to Umeda and Osaka station. Perfect for side trips to Himeji, Kyoto and Nara. Food and shopping only steps away. So good to finish shopping and drop off bags at the hotel before going to dinner. Staff was excellent and surpass Japanese standards which are great to begin with. There was always someone waiting to press the elevator button for us. Small gesture but goes a long way. Also all rooms are on high floors so amazing and unobstructed view of Osaka. Room was very large compared to other Japanese hotels. TV was japanese channels only until i found out that video on demand was free including english movies. This is my new favourite hotel in Osaka and would definitely look forward to staying here again."

DOYANEN HOTELS YAMATO
Osaka city South,Osaka - View on map
"My friend came from Tokyo while I was already in Osaka but stayed in a different hotel. We have to stay in this hotel so we can have our own room. We arrived super late (around 11pm) before our checkin time but the hotel made sure we have the keycode so we can enter the premise. On our first night, we were a bit scared because it was night time and the street going to the hotel has a lot of old, drunk people. We slept over it and finally realized Japan is Japan, is really safe, (This was my second solo travel in Japan but was joined by my friend this time for remaining 3days only), especially for women. The place is also near the subway, and the JR stn so that’s a big plus. Their escalator is a bit small and can carry only 2 people with 20++ kg baggage. Before checking in make sure to ask about how to operate the aircon first because there’s no Japanese translation on the remote. The staff speak English very well and are so accommodating. Overall we had a great stay, and can’t wait to be back soon!! "
