For golfers, this is excellent. The course situated on the property is by Thai standards well maintained (although why the greens are kept so slow is a mystery to me), clearly one of the more interesting courses we have played in Thailand, but not on par with championship courses such as Black Mountain (a league of its own) or Highlands (best course in Chiang Mai). The staff is very accommodating: we requested early check-in (arrived by bus at 6am), no problem. We asked for late check-out, again no problem. When we missed the dinner deadline (9pm, a bit early in my opinion) one evening, one of the boys went to the next door village and fetched us take-out dinner. Food at the hotel was good, in addition to the customary Thai dishes, the menu offered a large Japanese section (it seemed the largest guest category was Japanese golfers). The hotel also provides transport in excellent minivans (at extra charge, but nothing that will ruin your budget). Wifi was free, a bit slow, but it worked. As with most places we have been in Thailand, the staff's knowledge of the English language is appallingly poor, very strange for a country whose economy depends so heavily on tourism!? If we come back to Chiang Mai again, we will definitely choose Mae Jo Golf Resort.

Rooms are big and very clean, everything you need is there, safe box and even Belgian beer in the refrigerator. Every room has access to a nice swimming pool. English breakfast available with very good coffee (machine) . Lunchmenu and for dinner you can ask some special fish dishes or BBQ. A Ubolwan (Manager from the resort) buy the fish fresh on the market and prepare same day everything with Thai smile :-) . Her husband Stefano (Belgian with_Italian roots) can make the best pasta dishes . He also gives you advice to plan your trip in the neighbourhood. and bring you everywhere you need. You can rent motorbikes and bycicles (many bycicle roads all arround the resort) . The resort is situated in a very quiet area where you can hear the birds singing in the morning.

If you are a tourist searching for a place near the hotspots of Old City Chiangmai this place is not for you. I had business in the northeastern environs around Maejo and San Sai so this was an ideal location. This is not your typical hotel but apartments built for students at the university with the fourth floor reserved for guests. No hotel facilities or services per se; just a nice, clean, secure room with great WiFi but you are on your own for food. Should you want to go downtown but you have no car or hate the fight for parking, then carefully scurry across the main road and take a green baht-bus (20 baht) to the Watorot market (lengthy loop) then grab a red taxi from there (30 baht) or a tuk-tuk (100 baht/couple) to your final destination.

i decided to stay here because it was within walking distance of mae jo university and i wanted to see the big lantern release. i'd highly recommend this hotel for others looking to do the same -- much easier than facing the traffic! it's not in a busy part of town, but there were restaurants nearby and a cafe across the street. the staff were all absolutely lovely and helpful. cute dog, too!

I stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Chiang Mai during the Loi Krathong (Yi Peng). I wanted to go to Mae Jo University and it was not too far. The staff here were what made this facility one of a kind. I can't express how amazing they made this stay. I was treated truly like family. Cham offered to drive my daughter and I to the University to save us a 30 minute walk. It was no little trouble for him as there were about 6,000 people gathering there that night. He had to fight traffic to get us there and then also offered to pick us up again, gave us his cell phone number in case we needed him. We had an amazing time at the festival. After Cham picked us (and some other guests) up from the festival, when we returned to the hotel, he and the staff were BBQ-ing for us! There were friends there and they made us feel truly welcome, feeding us and offering us drinks until we were full, like family. My daughter and I have been in Thailand for 6 months now and I can't say how much this made our hearts full as we were starting to become a little homesick, but on this night we felt at home here. Afterward they had bought fire balloons for us to send off which we did. The facility is very nicely lit up and beautiful at night which made for a nice ambiance. We had as much fun hanging out at the hotel as we did at the festival. The next morning they offered to make us a thai style breakfast and it was awesome. Homemade rice porridge, curry, rice, hotdogs, toast, coffee, fried eggs. We had planned to go out, but I was glad we didn't.. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we are in Chiang Mai even though it is outside the city. The peace of the place is worth it. There was a trendy bar with a large young crowd - maybe 200 meters down the road. Also a mini mart, liquor store, all within a 2 minute walk.. Uber into downtown was about 200 baht.

This resort is the best in Chiangmai. Room is wonderful with decoration and all facilities with european style exactly as shown in the pictures in the website!! Value for money and not far from Chiangmai town. Nice place with amazing view! Cafe is sooooo beautiful and foods are great. Great & yummy breakfast. Their Service is the best and the owner is very nice and friendly and took care of us so well. If we visit Chiangmai, we will definitely stay there again!! Many thanks for everything and we are really impressed!
