We arrived into chetamal airport in the dark. We believed we had booked a hotel in nearby chetamal. The $25 taxi ride north in the dark was disconcerting as we saw the road signs for cancun, and we kept asking the spanish-speaking driver "chetemal?" It ended up that we were in Bacalar...which was great. The lake was turquoise and the locals friendle as they stopped to ...
This hotel is very lovely, cardioid key widget, romantic for couples. Host is very friendly, she helped me finding my favourite restaurant.
Great little hotel away from the noise and craziness. The rooms are spacious and clean. The showers have hot water with good pressure. The beds have a memory foam top and quality pillows which make for a comfortable nights sleep. The owner speak English and Spanish and is very knowledgeable of the area.
