Mantra-on-Kent, Sydney”

It was a wonderful 8-day stay at Mantra-on-Kent, Sydney. My friends and I (all five of us) arrived very late on the evening of 7th October 2013 after an almost 9 hours flight.. and we were greated with warm smiles and fast check-in (the fastest I have ever encountered so far!!). The hotel is centrally located and we spent most time walking, taking in the scenery, mingling with the crowd, etc, rather than taking the cab/bus all the time as we normally do in our previous travels.. Our apartment, which was located on the 9th Floor, had a bit of the Darling Harbour view and it was pretty quiet.. except when we are around that is.. that's when you will hear our laughter, clanking of the pots and pans from all that cooking!! We do apologies to our neighbours if the whole floor smell of sambal, curries, nasi lemak, etc, during our stay there. All in all, we had a great time and we would most certainly come back to stay at Mantra-on-Kent, Sydney.

I Will Be At Peace!”

It is so nice to be met by positiveness when one enters a hotel. The overall simple setting and list of mantras on the wall combined with the warm, welcoming attitude of the staff set the tone for my stay. Arriving several hours prior to check-in, staff were able to accommodate with a room within an hour of checking in; perhaps they noticed the weary look on my face after a 20-hour plus flight. Having selected this room from an Internet site, I was unsure as to what I would truly see. The suite was as described, quiet, spacious, contemporary design, with a spa tub, kitchen and washer and dryer. The kitchen was stocked with all manner of dishes, pots and pans, and cleaning supplies, the only thing missing was the food I later purchased. From the front desk staff to the cleaning staff, the provision of excellent service was and is a priority. If I was to return to Sydney, this would be my first choice of a place to stay.

Convenient location and great staff attitude”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mantra on Kent and will definitely be coming back later in the year. The size of our room was impressive and was far superior to any we had stayed in at other hotels. The fact that some of the windows could be opened was great,thus the room didn't have that usual stuffy smell that we usually associated with motel rooms.The distance from shopping and tourist attractions was good and we found we could walk everywhere without the necessity of hiring a taxi or catching a bus.We found all the staff very friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable,relaxed and enjoyable”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Mantra on Kent. The rooms were clean,spacious and comfortable. We had a great view over Darling Harbour from our room on the 24th floor. The staff were friedly and helpful. The location was very convenient for walking to Darling Harbour, Circular Quay & for shopping & restaurants. I would recommend the hotel for a group of friends, family, couples or business stays.

Great service apartment but small room”

i booked a studio room at mantra on kent during the easter holidays. at first i thought all rooms came with a washer and dryer but apparently only a dryer is provided in the studio rooms. however, it was not a big deal since the hotel washed our clothes and we just popped it into the dryer in our room. the location of the hotel was excellent - darling harbour was just around the corner and george street and woolsworth were just 2 blocks up so getting around the cbd area was no problem at all. i enjoyed the excellent darling harbour view from the hotel and i will definitely stay in this hotel again (but i will go with a one-bedroom apartment next time).

Great location and good service”

The Mantra would be really great for people staying in Sydney for a few nights, as it had a full kitchen and laundry. It was very clean and very well equipped with everything you would need. Great location close to Darling Harbour, shopping precinct of QVB and Pitt Street Mall. Only issue was some very noisy people in the hallway at 5 am in the morning.

I love to stay at Mantra on Kent because it is located very central. 5 minutes to Darling Harbour, 15 minutes to Chinatown, and also 5 minutes to George Street. Nice and friendly staff, very helpful, and the room is big.

Spa bath a bit dated, however overall, Mantra on Kent was a great choice for our trip. Location is excellent & i would highly for families & groups needing basic kitchen facilities

My new favorite Sydney Apartments”

I have been looking for an Apartment in Sydney that suits all my needs, and the Mantra is by far the best I have stayed in, the staff are very helpful, the room is tidy the TV is new, the bed is comfy, laundry facilities. just Great. I will say you will do well to find a cabbie who knows where it is so check your map before you arrive.

Good self-catering choice in Sydney”

We enjoyed our stay at the Mantra on Kent. The suite was spacious and clean. The hotel is nicely located for enjoying Sydney, being close to Darling Harbour and to downtown shopping areas (George Street, Queen Victoria Building, Chinatown etc.). Only complaint: the cost of Wifi is ridiculous at $24 per day and no chance to buy a lesser amount of time.

An excellent small hotel”

we really enjoyed staying at the mantra. it was very quite with a limited number of rooms on each floor. our room was well appointed, very clean with a view of darling harbour. the mantra is very close to darling harbours restaurants & mono rail with access to the city a breeze. loved it and would stay again.

Everything you could want for a short stay”

i recently stayed with my four year old and family member. having never stayed in a hotel with a young child in tow i was worried about how easy it would be for my son to settle in. we arrived much earlier than normal check in time and were surprised to be promptly given a room. (we had expected to store luggage and return later for check in.) on arrival the four year old was given a children's pack which kept him happily entertained whilst we settled into the apartment. we were very impressed with the kitchen and bathroom areas. both were a good size for a small family. my one suggestion for the kitchen area would be to provide child's plastic plate/cup when young children are booked to stay. the water pressure in the shower was fabulous and plenty of hot water was available. the bath products provided were lovely. i also liked the fact that a washing machine and dryer were available. that would definitely be an advantage in a longer stay. we found the apartment to be exceptionally clean upon our arrival. the main bedroom was on the small side compared to other apartment hotels i have stayed in but this was not a problem generally. the sofa bed was made up for our return from sight seeing and both the sofa bed and queen bed were warm and comfortable. there was some noise from a neighbouring room and from guests coming and going overly loudly in the corridor area but the guest on the sofa bed said that overall it did not stop her from sleeping. in the bedroom we heard none of this noise. there was also no street noise as we were high up on the 22nd floor! i am definitely planning on staying here again as the convenient location, room facilities and wonderful staff were ideal for our family needs. the hotel is a block from qvb, walking distance to a woolworths, next to a carpark and a couple of blocks from the aquarium. nicely located.

The best thing i like about Mantra on Kent is their location, walkable to Darling Harbour / Queen Vic and various shopping / eatery and most importantly attraction.

Great Location”

My partner and I stayed at the Manta on Kent in Nov 2012 for three nights in a 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was a great size had everything we needed, full kitchen, large bathroom, washer and dryer. The only downside was there was no balcony. The location was fantastic only a short walk to Darling Harbour, China Town and World Square all have a great selection of restaurants and cheap food outlets. Also nice and close to Town Hall Train station and Westfield shopping centre. We would definitely stay here again.

Great service apartment”

The location of the hotel was excellent with Darling Harbour being literally around the corner! There are many restaurant/cafe choices around the hotel so finding a good meal is never a problem. I will definitely recommend going with a one bedroom apartment since the studio apartment only comes with a dryer and not a washer. Internet is also expensive in the hotel but I think internet access is generally very expensive in Sydney which is quite unexpected since most of the hotels around the world offers free internet access now.

Great Location and Friendly Staff”

Perfect location for my needs, the staff were helpful, the bed was comfortable, good sized flat screen TV, I cooked my own dinners on this trip and enjoyed doing so - although I did manage to set off the smoke alarm on the second night as I charred my steak! Any negatives? 1) I would have liked a better place to put my case - I ended up putting it in the living room space as there was nowhere in the bedroom. 2) It is a pet hate of mine to pay extra these days for wifi - especially when the speed is not very good. Overall though, I had an enjoyable stay and would use the Mantra again.

Leisure Sydney”

Apartment is comfortable, clean and tidy. The only limitation was that the toilet seems a bit outdated. The open kitchen was so useful, we enjoy cooking there ! The tidy up service seems to be so limited as our room never got cleaned during 5 days trip. I guess maybe the limited tidy up service only provides at a specific time. But all in all, nice leisure in Mantra in Kent !

Good location mantra was in the middle of what we wanted, clean & tidy liked that it had washing machine and kitchen not that we stayed long enough to use but handy in case, I would stay at the mantra again.
