Amazing view, incredible staff, beautiful hotel”
This was my favourite hotel in our whole trip. The Mantra opened only in November 2011, so it was still very new. The staff were amazing. Everytime we arrived back to the hotel, we were greeted with smiles and questions about our day. We were then golf carted back to our room (as the hotel is situated on a hill). The room's are beautiful, each room has a view of the pool, which overlooks the ocean - you can see the island of Koh Penang from your room! Breathtaking. The restaurant and bar service was great. A little on the expensive side compared to other resorts, but well worth it as the service was so good. The Mantra is located in Bo Phut, which is on the other side of Samui, about 20mins away from the main shopping/nightlife strip in Chaweng. The hotel supplied a bus service into Chaweng everyday free of charge. You could also get a taxi for fairly cheap. If you make the effort, the staff will return it ten fold. Any questions, concerns etc were answered without a care. I could live at this hotel!

Mantra Samui Resort”
Unfortunately the Mantra Samui Resort was not open for our stay (it wan't quite ready for opening and the Manager wanted us to have a perfect holiday) so they re-located us to another resort nearby (and paid the difference in the cost of the room). Staff at the Mantra resort were amazing and they effortlessly arranged re-locating us, collecting us from the airport, from a ferry port and finally collecting us from the Anantara to take us back to the airport. They made sure we were happy with the service and room at the re-location hotel - which we were. We were really sad not to stay at the Mantra Resort but would say that when it opens (which I believe is the end of September), if the service is as good as the service we've recieved from them, we have no doubt this will be an amazing hotel and will definately stay with them in the future if we return to Koh Samui.

Fantastic ”
Breathtaking views, impeccable service, beautiful clean rooms, all at an affordable price. What more can one ask for? Ease of travel: The hotel runs regular FREE shuttle services to and from the popular destinations in samui: maenang beach, fishermans village/Bo phut beach, and chaweng. The shuttle services were always punctual, comfortable and even ran into the late evenings. It helped us to save a lot of money on taxi fares, which could cost a fair few hundred baht each way because the hotel is located on a hill. These were also appropriately timed, eg if you wanted to go out for lunch you could catch the 11am shuttle and get picked up at about 1pm to go back; or head out at 5pm and back at 8.30pm. Airport transfers were easily arranged. Prior to reaching Samui, I emailed the concierge and they replied with a confirmation within the same day (or 8hours to be exact). They also rang us a day before departure and offered to book the shuttle service to the airport. It costs about THB400 per way for 2 people with luggage. There were also several buggies to take hotel guests and luggage to and from their rooms at any time of the day. The room: We stayed in the cozy suite for five nights. The bedroom, living room and bathroom were luxuriously spacious and clean. Exactly what the pictures on the website promise! The facilities: We tried various massages and scrubs at the in-house Splendid Spa. Their service and professionalism were easily world class, again at affordable prices. There was also a 25% discount for services between 9am-12pm daily, which was very much appreciated. Special shoutouts to our therapists Bum and Tu for their excellent work! There was a good spread at breakfast. The infinity pool was located just next to the bar. Perfect for enjoying a drink and the view at the same time. The gym was well equipped with good machines and clean, just like the clubs in the big cities. Conclusion: It is a great hotel suitable for couples young and old,

Unforgettable ”
Our stay at the Mantra Samui was so wonderful, that we couldn't help but compare every hotel we stayed at in Thailand to this hotel. Unfortunately, none of the other hotels held a candle to this one, so we were somewhat disappointed with the rest of our trip after we left the Mantra. It has been over 6 months since we stayed at the Mantra Samui, yet I still remember the smallest details of the hotel that made our stay so fantastic. The hotel is located up on a hill, which makes the views absolutely breathtaking. There was a golf cart that would take us up to our room whenever we needed, so no worries about the trek up to your room. The "front desk" was rather unconventional. I found it odd at first, but quickly understood the rationale behind the decision to have it that way- it made for an extremely friendly staff, which led to extremely happy customers. The pool.....was amazing. It felt as though we were in a dream. If you want zen, this is the place for it. Lastly, our room was out of this world. Make sure you wake up to catch the sunrise. We had a computer in our room where we could check our email, or watch any tv show or movie we wanted (the selection is superb...better than Netflix! ). We even got a gift upon departure. Stay here. You won't regret it. And if you do, you probably aren't having much fun in life.

simply awesome in every way!”
it was so beautiful here that after our initial 7 day stay, (we had booked a different hotel for the middle week in a different area simply for location variety) we simply could not wait to return to mantra samui for our final week! we simply cannot fault the mantra samui. the resorts' biggest asset, without a doubt, is the entire team who make each person feel individually so welcome, they are super efficient, super friendly without being anything but absolutely professional. the atmosphere is wonderful, everyone is happy to be here & this makes a real difference. nothing is too much trouble. the gym is excellent and very well equipped. the regular shuttle buses offer ample opportunity to spend as much or as little time away from the blissful pool area, and the 'love suites' with their individual 'double jacuzzi's' on the individual terraces are a dream! quite simply - we will be back next year ....what's not to love about this place? we couldn't think of anything!

Awesome Hotel”
Had such a great time staying at the Mantra samui resort, that is to say once we had made it up the steep road to get to the hotel and the room but its worth it for the beautiful views especially from the infinity pool and the restaurant. The room was big and very clean with a very nice shower and jacuzzi of the balcony. The facilities were very good and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional and I really enjoyed the food especially the delicious breakfast which had everything you could have wanted for breakfast. We really enjoyed stay at the Mantra Samui Resort and want to return again in the future.

Very comfortable, quiet peaceful location”
We stayed at the Mantra Samui for eight nights. We understood the Mantra was a new hotel however, it appears to be about 30 years old and probably in need of some renovations. The main disadvantage with the hotel is that it is located on a hillside on Samui (as are many of the hotels in Samui) and it is a little difficult to get the the more popular areas of the island such as the beaches and shopping areas (although a very good shuttle bus service is provided). The other area of concern is that the pool area is relatively small and lacks the necessary shade, particularly during the very hot months. Overall however, the resort is very comfortable, the staff are brilliant and we would recommend it as a great place for a relaxing holiday.

More 4 Star but still had a great stay ..”
We stayed in Koh Samui for 7 days and we wanted to break up our vacation with 4 days of complete relaxation and 3 days of seeing the island. We chose Mantra as we knew it was a distance from the centre (although only 15 minutes in a car from Fisherman's village) and where we could simply just chill at the hotel. Our stay at Mantra on the whole enabled us to achieve this. Our communications prior to our arrival was spot on - i.e. arranging a pick up. On arrival we were a bit suspect of the resort as the reception area simply does not resemble that you are entering a 5 Star resort. However, we were checked in within 10 minutes and were taken to our room, the Love Oasis with Jacuzzi. This is simply a stunning room. Very spacious, lovely bathroom and the only downside was we did not have enough draws to out in all our clothes (something the management should look at). The major plus point of the hotel is the pool - just wow with stunning views. 3 out of our 4 days we simply spent relaxing by the poolside and it's great it is open 24/7. My only gripe is that there are not enough sun beds (although i appreciate it's hard to put more in). One day in particular we arrived at 10am and there were no sunbeds left. So we had to wait .... The breakfast I have to say is very average - not enough variety for my liking. However, the lady serving us on each days (Much) was great - she is an asset to Mantra. Mantra also only has one restaurant - so you are very limited what you can eat. My advice use the 4 free shuttles a day and go to Fisherman's Village where there are lots of good places to eat and far cheaper IMO. If you want complete relaxation then yep choose Mantra, you won;t be disappointed but just ensure it is not during the raining season as if it rains there simply isn't allot to do at the resort. It's a great little resort that we liked but in my opinion not a 5 star resort.

One of the best hotel in samui ”
i had a very pleasant stay at mantra samui resort. was upgraded to "love" room which very nice view with the large balcony&outdoor jacuzzi bathtub. the bed is very comfortable. even the hotel is not situated on the beach but the pool has a stunning view. the hotel also provided the shuttle service to chaweng beach and also the fisherman village. food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonable price . the fitness center is fully equipped with the machines and the yoga class is very interesting . the staff is very helpful and friendly . i looking forward to next vacation here and would recommended this hotel to my friends.

Relaxing, luxurious, wonderful”
I stayed with a friend that I had been travelling around Thailand with for 3 weeks prior to our stay at the Mantra Samui. We had been staying in some fairly basic hostels and resorts along the way, so we decided for some luxury at the end of out trip. The Mantra delivered on all fronts. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, the resort itself, all facilities and our room were large and beautifully fit out. The breakfast was absolutely a highlight and we enjoyed using the modern and well equipped fitness centre both days during our stay. I would definitely come back and recommend the Mantra Samui to all my friends and family.

Fantastic and totally”
We stayed at the Mantra Samui resort during mid November this year. Our room was on the 2nd floor of the WOW suites wing and it was great to wake up every morning to a breathtaking view of the ocean! The room was spacious and well appointed. The service and the food were excellent and the pool and restaurant areas were amazingly relaxing. Although not located on the beach itself, this resort is a little piece of tranquility, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. The hotel’s frequent shuttle service(free) to Bophut beach (approx 10 mins drive) and Chaweng Beach(approx: 20 mins drive) provides easy access to the beaches for guests who wish to venture out. A visit to Fisherman’s village in Bopuht is a must do and so too is a massage on the beach in Chaweng! We more than enjoyed our 2 night stay at Mantra Samui and will certainly stay here again.

Definitely worth it with the best services”
Had a two night stay in Mantra from 18th-20th May 2013 with my boyfriend and parents. We were all impressed by the view of our room and the 'fresher' air on the hilltop. We got ourselves a Wow and Cozy room, and we concluded that cozy room is definitely more value-worthy. Services of the staff were superb. Recommended us where is the nicest and most authentic local thai food, tour us around the hotel. The best part is the room service is fast and efficient, came to our room within 5 minutes of our request. Free buggy (exciting) rides up and down to-and-fro our rooms and lobby. *Impressed by the driving skills of their driver. Excellent shuttle from Mantra resort to Bophut and Chaweng. Save you lots of transportation fee!!! Best recommend to rent a bike or car if you would travel around Samui island, but beware the route to Mantra is really steep. Love my stay in Mantra =)

Great facilities, fun and friendly staff”
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights and we couldn’t talk highly enough of this place, from being warmly greeted with refreshing towels and drinks to our very early morning farewell (as we had to catch a morning flight from Surat Thani) and packed breakfast to go. The staff were all friendly, professional and fun, a testament to Mantra Samui’s philosophy for selecting staff with a great attitude. The Location is great for a quiet and relaxing holiday being away from the main strips, however frequent shuttle busses make it easy to get to Bophut Fishing Village and Chaweng. Our room, the Love Oasis Jacuzzi room, was so fantastic with beautiful authentic décor, great views and come fully equipped with all the creature comforts you would need such as a great selection of movies and music, free international calls, books, and more! Awesome facilities and inclusions – a infinity pool with a swim up bar (don’t miss happy hour drinks!), fully equipped gym, yoga classes, and day spa. Breakfasts were great and we had dinner at the restaurant a couple of times which provided some nice Thai fusion food. We hired a driver for half a day which was arranged through Mantra to take us around the Island to check out the beaches and waterfalls which was excellent. Highly recommended. The Mantra Samui family have really gone out of their way to make our experience an amazing one, and with more additional improvements in the works such as a new restaurant, coffee shop and more shuttles running into town we can’t wait to come back to see out Mantra family again!

sweet retreat. ”
The Mantra Samui resort Team are fantastic, We really enjoy our stay, the staff is friendly and out driver Lek super cute and smily. The breakfast tasted good and they had many options. What we found very annoying was that out bedroom were connected by a door with the next room and for 2 nights we could not sleep, because we could hear this people like they were in our room, so our privacy were interrupted, we also could not even do any kind of noise because we didnt want them to listen to us. but overall is a well maintained resort with fabulous service. Thank we will come back again, ( to another room please hehe)

Beautiful hotel with great service & attitude”
we stayed one night at mantra samui as we had an early morning flight from samui airport. we wished immediately we'd stayed for longer - the friendly and welcoming staff made sure we had "sanuk" during our whole stay and everything was on point from start to finish. private jacuzzi on the balcony was great, views were beautiful and the staff helped us a great deal with our transport arrangements etc. breakfast was the best i've had in thailand, both the western & the eastern sides of it. the hotel is located on a hillside so it's good to know there will be plenty walking up & down. also it's not too close to any village center / beach and the hill is steep so you'll need your transport to go anywhere..

Superb hotel and service A*****”
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at The Mantra Samui in a Love Jacuzzi Oasis suite. The service was impeccable throughout, the staff honestly couldn't be any more pleasant and helpful. They warned us on arrival that the hotel was brand new and therefore we might experience some teething problems but we didn't find any reason to complain. The breakfast was delicious especially the pancakes and served on the most gorgeous tea service! The room is amazing and very comfortable. Alas is wasn't serviced everyday but by the time we returned in the evening it was too late to query and not a major problem. The drinks are expensive as always (when compared with other local bars/restaurants). The location does require transport but the views are worth it as is the peace and quiet. That said the hotel do offer a shuttle to the main local resort during the daytime. We hired a moped in Chaweng so it wasn't a problem. The pool and spa are first class. Highly recommended.

Romantic, Beautiful, Happy place!”
We came here to our second round at Koh Samui. After comparing reviews, huge discount from Agoda's we pre-booked for 4 nights - and we were very happy for that decision. The good: 1. Great room - We took the 'Love Jacuzzi' #143. The room is well designed, big size, nice view of the sea and the jacuzzi! The entertainment computer is full with movies and TV shows to watch - really nice extra the shower and toilet also well designed - well done! 2. The staff are incredibly nice! Starting from the reception, restaurant staff, chef 3. Wonderful breakfast! Eggs of your choice, pancakes, salads, fruits, breads and sweats, cereal and nuts. Also fried rice and noodles if that's your taste .. Plus - the coffee is very good! And I'm not easy to please on that subject 4. Happy hour from 3-7pm : 2 drinks for 300b. 5. Swimming pool with great view of the sea, free daily drink (non-alcoholic), in-pool bar and again - nice staff. The not-so-good: 1. Wifi - good at the swimming pool and restaurant areas - but really bad in the room 2. No sea shore, the hotel is located on the mountain, so in order to get to the sea you will need to adjust your self to the shuttles schedule. It worked well for us most of the time, but take it under consideration. 3. Expensive restaurant and bar! Because the hotel is isolated on the mountain side, there are no other bars or restaurants close by - and the hotels facilities are not cheap: lunch for 2 around 700b, dinner for 2 will cost more than 2000b, cocktails 300b each! Really expensive except from the happy hours time. BUT - the restaurant's food is GOOD 4. BAD music at restaurant and pool - only female-voice singing covers songs, sometimes in repeat! If the hotel staff are reading this review - please improve it because we plan to visit here again 5. Cinnamon everywhere! In the drinks and food. if you don't like this spice / allergic - always ask if it's inside.
