A very nice independent hotel”

I stayed at Maryoo Samui Hotel on the recommendation of a friend that visits often. I found the hotel to be very clean and well presented. The rooms were spacious and nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. I had one occasion where there was no water in the bathroom, however, well it's Samui, and things are to be expected! Breakfast was included and was traditional Thai fayre. A hot breakfast was available to order, and was quickly prepared fresh and brought to the table. The only eyebrow raising moment was after prepaying the hotel, I was asked for 1,000bht on arrival for damages - it was fully refundable on departure providing I supplied the very small receipt ticket back at the time. I was more than happy to provide a credit card, however that was not acceptable. I was glad that I had visited the ATM at the airport before arriving at the hotel, or I would not have been able to check in! Other than that though, a great hotel, with a lovely swimming pool deck that enjoys the sun for most of the day.

Best accommodation in Thailand”

Maybe it was our first accommodation in Thailand, so we was so excited to discover Koh Samui, but I can admin only after travelled across Thailand that Maryoo Samui is a very good option to stay a little bit far from the crowdy Chaweng (you need a scooter to get the closest place around the hotel). Service was excellent and the room perfect in size and comfort. The manager was very kind to give us a upgraded room to the same price. Nice pool and very efficient staff. I definitely recommend this place!

Best accommodations in Koh Samui. Great value and friendly staff”

We had a great 4 week trip to Thailand, we spent 5 nights at Maryoo, which were exceptionally wonderful, the best accommodations for the price. The staff, Job and Shelia were most friendly, helpful and accommodating to our every request. The rooms are large and beautiful. Internet was fast and good. breakfast had Western and Thai options and the food was great. The restaurant also serves lunch& dinner, we did enjoy the food very much. The pool was so stunning, we didn't want to leave the resort. We swam in the pool everyday. Don't leave Samui without seeing fishermans village and Crystal Beach. We recommend emailing Maryoo resort and arranging for a taxi directly through the resort. The cost of a taxi at the airport was 200% higher than when we arranged it through Maryoo. We also highly recommend renting a motorbike (scooter / moped) through Maryoo for your entire stay, the cost for a 125cc motorbike per day(300 baht) this motorbike fit 2 people easily and had enough power.

A hidden gem out of the way.”

For a ten day stay in Koh Samui, we loved Maryoo Samui Hotel. Yes its far away from all the attractions, thats why we picked it. Its a short hope on a rot song taew (bhat taxi) and you are right in the thick of it all. The hotel is in great condition, well decorated and each room is the perfect size for two people. The bathrooms where immaculate; clean and modern in their design, with fresh towels everyday. Which is part of why you should stay at Maryoo. They fully understand customer service. Fresh bedding and towels, pool towels where put out when we went for a swim, even at odd hours like 2 am. We felt like valued guests the whole time we where there. The other reviews are right about the restaurant, there is nothing special about it. However just up the street a five minute walk is bongos restaurant which has some really good food at a very fair price. Next door is Banyan Tree Cafe, with one of the best sandwiches i've had in thailand. Not to mention the Rock Pool, where you most definitely want to book a table for dinner. We will being going back .

Good place to stay...”

The Maryoo is a great place to stay in Samui, you are not too far from Chaweng or Choengmon.. The rooms are comfortable and serviced daily, We did not eat there so can not comment on the food.. The pool was clean as was the room.. No problems with out 2 week stay.. Good budget accommodation.

Very nice hotel and great value”

The hotel is about 1-2 miles from Chewang Beach so you can walk it but grabbing a mini bus for 100 baht was always my way of getting down there. The rooms were great and very clean. I had a pool view suite but seeing the photos of the ocean views I may have to come back to experience that view every morning. The staff and professionalism of the resort will always be rated highly by me and I will recommend it to anyone I know going to Koh Samui.

Very nice hotel, amazing staff and great restaurant”

We spent the last days on Ko Samui before we left the country. The hotel is a bit remote and is not located on the beach, but if you read the reviews in advance you know what to expect. If you want, you can rent scooters from the hotel at the usual price or organize taxi rides to explore the area and beaches nearby. The restaurant is very very tasty. We always tried something different and were always very satisfied. The breakfast buffet is kept simple. You can choose between single dishes and additionally get fruits and cornflakes from the buffet. The hotel rooms are really big and clean. The only minus point and what is really a pity is that the showers are not properly maintained and cleaned. The windows are completely calcified. This could be made more attractive by appropriate maintenance. The duvets are also very yellowed, which is also a bit unsightly and easy to fix. We were otherwise very satisfied with the price-performance ratio and really appreciated the friendly staff.

Staying in Maryoo Samui was good. When I arrived there its first impression was not great. But all staffs were really helpful whenever I requested something. Even faraway from downtown it was okay. I just took tuk tuk It was quiet expensive but later I learned how to deal with them. Hotel to Downtown we paid 50 or 100bht Downtown to Hotel we paid 200 or 300 bht Anyway, thankyou Jab, Georgine and Shila.

Stunning hotel, lovely staff! ”

i booked into this hotel after 3 months of travelling as a treat to myself...and what a treat it was!! had my own suite, complete with balcony, kitchen, lounge area, tv, gorgeous shower!! i spent the days by the beautiful pool and wandered down to the local restaurants in the evening. the staff were really lovely and as i was a lone traveller engaged in conversations with me about my travels and if i needed any help booking hotels for further on in my journey!! i would definatly recommend this hotel for people arriving into koh samui airport after a long flight, it is a 10 minute journey from the airport and is the perfect place to recuperate and relax!!!

we needed a place to stay for 1 night while on samui before heading to ko pha ngan so we decided to stay at the maryoo since it was close to the airport and ferry. the hotel is a few minutes drive from crazy chaweng beach. it was nice and quiet and away from the madness of chaweng. the pool was refreshing, rooms were large and modern and the beds were like sleeping in a marshmallow cloud!! the staff were friendly and helpful with booking our ferry ticket.

Amazing!!! ”

Been going to samui for the last 5 years and I stay for a month, this time only went for 6 days and I stayed here, you will never find a room with this size for that price and with such nice furniture. Yes some picky travelers will complain about little things like shower heads being old, bugs, etc but thats not a problem, it does not affect u at all. You must have a motorbike or car to rrach beaches or city centers but they are just a 5 to 10 min drive. The restaurant at the hotel is great, i was doing a diet to lose fat and they prepared what i asked them to prepare, pretty flexible i felt like home. Some suggestions for travelers get a mosquito connector from 7 eleven plug it in and ur room will be perfect, rent a car a compact costs 800 bahts a day if u rent it for 3 or 4 days, scooter pay 180 to 250 bahts a day and make sure they give u a new one, dont trust the old ones their brakes dont work! I loved this hotel is not a 5 star but u will feel like home and you will be so comfortable in those spacious rooms!! Staff amazing too, polite and friendly!! Breakfast is great too, they hace these sauted potatoes that taste amazing!!

Suited Purpose as expected”

Myself (Kiwi) and my girlfriend (Thai National), stayed at Maryoo for 2 weeks. It was in March and the hotel was very quiet (which i enjoyed). The staff were attentive and friendly. The room was very good. studio bedroom, lounge, kitchen, with a seperate shower bathroom. The Kitchenette they list as part of the facilities is in fact large cupboard space, a large sink, huge bench area and NO cooking appliances apart from the jug. was a little dissapointed as had hoped to cook for my girlfriend and vice versa. The pool is excellent, with built in Jacuzzi at one end. Air con worked great. Breakfasts were ok, cooked upon your selection when quiet, but on the few days there were other people staying they rolled out the buffet. Good enough, but have had much better. It is away from Chaweng, where the main partying or shopping can be done. in saying that, anyone who doesnt hire a scooter while on Samui is crazy. Its certainly cheaper than the Baht buses or taxis running around. If you did want a beach hotel, with shopping on the doorstep, then look elsewhere, if you are looking for a great base of operations to explore the island from then Maryoo could be it, it certainly was for us.

Put up for 5 nights at Maryoo Samui, a great place to stay if you enjoy the sereness. Although abit far (5mins by car)from Chaweng Town, but staff and service are tip top.

Its the second time in 3 weeks who we staying in Maryoo (we staying the first time 7 days and the second time 8 days). The location is perfect, very nice and quiet and dont have the bad garbage smell from Chaweng. If you take a motorbike you are not far from everythings. We was liking very much the swimming pool, not to little and clean. The food was very good for a raisonnable price. The room are big, clean and we was enjoying the swimming pool direct on the front of us room. A big thank you for Maria, Job, Zaw and all the others member from the Staff. They was very helpfull and we was very appreciated they kindness. So for us budget its was very perfect stay and we will coming again.

Nice and peaceful hotel”

The staff was very good. I arrived late night when I check in. I need some food but no shop nearby. He bring me to the 7E by his motorcycle. Unexpected from the hotel staff. The location bit far from town but I rent a car recommended by the staff. Very convenient and helpful. The room was so spacious and pool view. It’s very nice. Overall their staff was all very good from the front desk, bellboy and restaurant staff. Will repeat staying here if I come back to koh samui.

Nice hotel and peaceful environmen”

We stayed 1 night in Maryoo Pool View Suite on our 1st day arrived in Samui. The room is big and facing to the pool. If you drive there, need to play attention to their sign because easy to miss it since it is quite small. We thought the breakfast was buffet when we booked the hotel but when we got into the restaurant we found it was set meal. We didnt complain because the rate was low and everything was fine.
