Paradise in Ubud, except for the dinner menu”

Great Location, Great environment, Great Staff and hospitality

We stayed in a Pool Villa overlooking the river. Maya truly earns its 5 Star rating. from the moment we arrived, we are greeted by a lushful greeneries, all eyes can see, is green. the weather is cool, especially in late afternoon throughout til morning. Morning mist can be seen along with the morning dew. all staffs are very attentive and helpful, my wife enjoyed the SPA very much. MAYA has 2 main pools (one located near the Lobby and the other one near the SPA area). Children under 12 is not permitted to swim in the main pool near the SPA area, which is understandable since they tend to make much noise and couls interrupt the tranquility of the SPA environment. we love the shuttle service from the hotel to the UBUD centre, which departs every hour and will pick up back every hour too. even if you miss them, hotel cab is still reasonable at Rp 50,000 (USD 5.00)to UBUD area. the only downside, which MAYA can improve is the DINNER MENU. the Dinner (we chose the Buffet menu), which include daily Traditional Balinese Dance does not have too much variety, with mainly only Indonesia food served. maybe it can improve by offering more varieties like Seafood or Western food too. However, with so many great restaurant around Ubud, we decided to dine out the next evening. however , Breakfast is GREAT !!! everything was fresh and even we can have hot capuccino or latte. overall, we are very satisfied with MAYA, and of course we will come back again. it was a very memorable moements in MAYA Ubud

Beautiful Hotel set amongst tropical jungle”

Peaceful, not a place to take kids, amazing spa, two infinity pools looking over jungle or river, food was excellent and not too expensive friendly staff, free afternoon tea daily at 4pm

The Maya Ubud Resort & Spa is just an amazing place to stay. We will certainly go back again. It is not a place for kids, a peaceful haven for couples and to visit if you need to de-stress. The Spa is the most wonderful and tranquil place, set on the side of a hill amongst colourful and verdant vegetation above a fast flowing river. Have been to many and varied spas, but this is a cut-above the rest. The private villas (some have their own plunge pools) are ideal for honeymoon couples. We stayed in a hotel room and were very happy with the standard and cleanliness. Plenty of room to move about as well. The Resort resembled a village and the grounds were set in lush tropical vegetation. The hotel shuttle has regular and free trips into Ubud town, only takes about five minutes. Lots of shopping and restaurants in there if you don't want to eat in the Hotel Restaurants every meal. Hotel food was wonderful and not expensive. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

tranquility and serene hotel”

Wonderful infinity pool, superb room, excellent service at hotel and well maintained garden
Very warm at dining area of Maya Sari

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The room was tastefully decorated. Service was impeccable. We love the infinity pool at the spa area.Very serene and calm. A good place to relax. The only complaint that I have is that it is very warm at the dining area of the restaurant Maya Sari. I can't enjoy my dinner at the restaurant as I was sweating although the food was delicious and ambience at restaurant was good. It can be improved by putting a few cooler fans at the dining area of cafe and restaurant, sitting area and bar as weather in Ubud may be very humid. The day we checked out happened to be my birthday. To my surprise, a birthday cake with compliments from hotel was sent to our room. That was very thoughtful! Thank You Maya Ubud Resort and Spa. We had an enjoyable stay and will definitely go back!!

Hard to fault”

Location, beauty, service

While Ubud isn't immune anymore from the crowds, once you pass the gates of this resort the atmosphere immediately makes you feel more relaxed. The staff goes to great length to keep the gardens, ammenities and your nice villa spotless. Intrusion is minimal as your whereabouts are monitored so you can always expect to have a clean room and plunge pool with extra attentions such as an afternoon snack. Most unexpectedly we didn't have one single bug or mosquito in the room despite the jungle and river around! Room and laundry services are prompt and excellent. I thought we might get bored in Ubud but to the contrary the week passed in a flash as the hotel offers tons of activities: nice pools and spa, nature walk down the river, tennis, short-range golf, initiation to yoga, gym, accompanied bicycle trip in rice fields, rafting trip, hourly shuttles to the city center... The food is good and quite diverse. Of course prices are in relation to the lush environment you're staying in. It's worth trying the Ubud restaurants and spas as they charge a fifth of the price for equivalent quality. But I guess if you can afford staying at Maya, privacy is worth the extra buck to you.

Perfect”

Maya Ubud is simply stunning in every way.
None

Maya is a short drive through the beautifully lush surrounds of Ubud. The entrance is grand and secure; speaking volumes of the quality to come. We were greeted by smiling relaxed staff, a delicious welcome drink and a room upgrade to the top floor (of 3) on the river side. A wonderful view of both the heavily vegitated river bank and the performance courtyard. Each day (3)we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast then a swim in the pool, reading, meeting like minded people and afternoon refreshments. We dined once in Ubud which was less touristed than the southern parts of Bali and again the food was both satisfying and affordable. Take advantage of the spa offer with a meal here; the walk itself along the rock cutaway paths will prepare you well for a great massage. I can't compliment Maya enough. Whether it's something special or a honeymoon this is an absolutely beatutiful resort hotel with all the trimmings!

Gorgeous estate well worth the stay”

Me and my husband booked Maya Ubud to end our week in Bali on a nice note. But Maya Ubud proved to be beyond what we expected. The rooms were spacious, clean and well designed. We had windows overlooking the rice terrace. We spent most of our time there. The estate was a grand beauty, lined with tall palm trees and lush fauna, the pools were fantastic and had stunning views. The spas are great at a affordable price and the chefs create great menus in 3 of their restaurants. The place host a large number of activities both paid and free, so we didn't need to leave the estate. But what was best about Maya Ubud was the impeccable service from the staff, their attention to detail and their care for guest is unparamount. Well worth the small sum we paid to stay in the place.

everything in Maya is perfect!!”

great view

Maya ubud is a great scale resort and could never be compared with other hotels or resorts in ubud. We were honeymooner. when we arrive at the room we were surprised at the beautiful bath flower arrangement. We love the view of ricefield from our balcony. The resort is so peaceful and full of nature. I did yoga every morning. it's free yoga class for guests. The reosort is a little far away from the center. but they provide free shuttle service every hour. They also offer the afternoon tea service. The spa was also great. the spa room is outdoor and you can get spa listening to bird and water.

MAYA - Paradise on Earth”

Location, Physical Layout... THE WHOLE PLACE!!!! AND THE SERVICE!!!!
Wow... hard to find any faults! Price of wine but that is that case everywhere in Bali!

The Maya Resort and Spa exceeded our expectations. It was a stunning, breathtaking, healing and special place. Attention to the smallest of detail was impressive. The aesthetics and layout of the property is inspired. We spent the last three days of our two week honeymoon in Bali here and it was the perfect end to an amazing time away! Never have we experienced such genuine service and felt so looked after. Every member of staff ranging from the bell boys to the wait staff, spa staff and gardeners were continually smiling and willing to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The food was also excellent. The Fuju Set menu and wine (as per usual in Bali) was highly priced, but everything else was reasonable! WE LOVED staying at the Maya and would have no hesitation to return!

Amazing resort Highly recommend”

We loved staying at the Maya Ubud resort in February for 4 nights in a duplex pool villa. This was our first visit to Maya Ubud and we plan to return. Arriving very late at night with all the lights was very magical & effortlessly taken by buggy down to our villa & explained all the amenities. The resort is amazing and we enjoyed a special couples massage in the riverside spa rooms. We enjoyed the restaurants & cocktails bar, swimming pools and nature walks, yoga & mediation. Special thanks to Sukrata, Murdiarta, Bawa, Dewa and Merta who all made our stay so memorable.

Fantastic Resort with helpful and cheerful staff”

Spacious room; beautiful gardens; luxurious swimming pools; and good variety of activities.

we went to maja ubud for a luxury get-away for nine days and it met all of our expectations. the resort is well located near to, but outside of, ubud, and a free shuttle bus runs into town daily until 5.00pm. the gardens are expansive, perfectly maintained and incorporate a number of interesting walks. the resort includes a gym, yoga, tennis court, pitch and putt golf (one hole), two swimming pools and a variety of restaurants. a range of day activities with a resort-provided driver were available for sightseeing and shopping trips. the staff are pleasant, courteous, helpful and speak good english. ample drinking water is provided in the rooms, and accommodation included a beautiful and varied breakfast daily. room service was convenient and came at no additional "delivery" charge. one of the fabulous things is the availability of a beautifully appointed lounge (with shower) provided for those travellers leaving after the 12.00 midday checkout. the price for dining in the evening and spa services are high compared with what is available in ubud.

Fantastic environment - lots of lush greenery”

Infinity pools overlooking river/Ubud jungle; Food; Complimentary Yoga

We really enjoyed our stay at the Maya. We were in a Superior Room which was getting a bit old and showing its age, but very clean and lovely furnishings/linen etc... We were moved to a Deluxe room (which was pretty much identical to the Superior room, but with a better view and 2nd balcony) because we could hear the generators from our Superior room and these were noisy. The generators were on because bad weather was causing power failures across Ubud. The staff were very pleasant and approachable when we requested to move rooms and facilitated it very quickly. We ate at the Maya resort's restaurant one night and the quality of the food was exceptional. Price wise, it's much more expensive than in the town of Ubud, but comprable to the likes of good restaurants like Indus and Bridges. We still thought it was great value for money compared with good restaurants in Melbourne, Australia. The complimentary morning yoga was great! Suited all levels and a great way to start the day (before the buffet brekkie). The best feature of this resort though is its location and surroundings - simply spectacular! We indulged in a day of just lounging by the infinity pool as it was so peaceful and relaxing.

Magical”

In villa bath tub overlooking the padi fields

Maya Ubud was hands down one of the best resorts i had stayed in Bali. the service was excellent and the surroundings were typical of that in a tropical rainforest. the gardens were nicely manicured and the rooms were very well maintained and serviced. the hotel is also quite close to the town centre; only 5-10mins by car and yet very isolated from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. the breakfast menu was also quite sumptuous; however it did get a little routine after eating the same menu for the whole 3 days of our stay. that would've be my only negative

Pleasant and romantic getaway”

The pools, the spa and the surrounding

We had a 3 days short getaway during my birthday. D resort is beautiful and quiet though there was a big incentive tour group fr Europe during our stay. We are lucky to be able to change our initial booking of a garden villa to a pool villa (we paid for upgrade). To be honest, unless ur travelling as a family or prefer to stay in, then a villa is a good choice. The garden villa especially, is good for families with children as there is a big space in front of the villa for the children to run around. The pool villa is basically a plunge pool for you to cool down after a hot afternoon out. Other than that, d room is the same. We viewed a few villas and in the end, we decided on villa 601. Though it is right besides the main pool, it is still pretty quiet and the guests cannot peek into the villa from the main pool. We prefer this villa to other villas cos of the bigger space in the villa compared to the other villas shown to us. However, d river view is not really a river view cos it was too high up. Perhaps the rice terrace view would be a better deal but privacy would be compromised. I think d regular rooms at the hotel wing would provide a much better view of the rice terraces as there is 3 floors which provides a great view to the rice terraces and river view. There is also a presidential villa which is amazing. You would have a great villa and a big pool in your villa, all by yourselves. You can consider this option if you are traveling with 2 families. There are pros and cons about all the different rooms/villas. However, if you have a chance, do come to Maya Ubud for a getaway, you will not regret it.

Very nice resort in Unud”

Large and nice resort, Amazing swimming pool, Good food

We totally loved the time staying in the resort thus spent one and a half days just to go around, discover the natural walk, and enjoy resort facilities. The resort has two swimming pools but we only used the one which has natural view, you can even see the monkeys jumping on the trees on the hills in front of the pool. The resort has free shuttle bus to Ubud thus is very convenient if you want to discover Ubud. Airport pick up service provided by Maya is cheaper than taking Airport taxi and even cheaper if you can arrange in advance with local agents, pricing will depend on your negotiation skills. Buffet dinner in the resort is also a good choice.

Memorable stay at Maya Ubud!”

We were on our honeymoon trip to Bali, ans stayed at Maya Ubud for three nights. This was definitely one of the most memorable stays for us. Maya impressed us by their great location, within the river valley in central Bali; their courteous and professional staff, the amenities provided to us and last but not the least their great f&b spread. We stayed in the spacious Deluxe Pool Villa. It featured its own private pool and garden. We had a great stay at Maya, and would love to go back during our next trip to Bali.

Love this hotel! Can not fault it!”

This was our second stay at the Maya and it seemed even more spectacular than the first. Service was fantastic, room was beautiful, pools are amazing and so relaxing and peaceful, surrounded by nature. They also have morning yoga for free which is great and we used the gym facilities also which were good. Breakfast there is in a beautiful setting and lots of options and the hotel is a 5 minute drive from Ubud centre, which taxis are arranged by the hotel for you (they generally will organise anything for you or help you in any way they can). The only thing to be aware is that as it is surrounded by greenery and jungle so there are mosquitos there but they fumigate the resort regularly and provide both a spray for the room and also free mosquito cream for your skin if you are going out in the evening (they only really come out at dusk). We will 100% be coming back for a third visit next time we are in Ubud.

Most amazing experience. Absolute bliss!”

The actual hotel, pool and spa and service

Our stay was one of the best we have ever had. From the moment we got there we were well looked after by the amazing staff. Our room was beautiful and the pools OH MY GOD! We also splurged on a 2hr spa that is so recommended! We then had a lovely dinner in pure bliss by the pool. Our food was so fresh and the staff were so kind. All of the guys looking after taxi service at check in were so friendly and professional. The buffet breakfast was a real treat and we were blown away by choice. Nila at reception was an absolute dreamboat and so helpful, friendly, incredible! This was our first time to bali so we only stayed one night but we will be back to stay at Maya as soon as it's possible and for at least a week. Definitely worth every cent! Thank you Maya resort :-)
