A very good hotel”
I had a good time staying at the Merchant Art Residence during my Myanmar visit during 27/6/2016-29/6/2016. What I was impressed the most about this hotel is that all staff at the hotel were very friendly, informative, and all had a very good service mind. Also, the hotel was so clean, new, and located in a good location. However, only a small note I found is that the shower area in the toilet is very small and not properly separated from other areas, so after having a shower the whole toilet floor was always soaking wet. If this note was improved, I could easily give this hotel a score 10 out of 10.

Perfect Stay!”
Merchant Art is a perfect base to make your way to Shwedagon Pagoda during sunrise as it is just 10 minutes away by foot. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in attending to our requests, and the rooftop deck had great views of Shwedagon as well. The room was comfy with great beds, excellent Wifi and air-conditioning. If there's one thing to nitpick about, it will be that the shower and toilet area should be better separated out so that taking a shower will not leave the toilet completely wet. Nevertheless, great value for the price with an excellent location and amazing service! Wish we had a longer time at Merchant Art :)

Peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.”
We stayed 2 nights at the end of our Myanmar trip. We got one of the cheaper rooms (no window) and had a really nice relaxing couple of days. The room was nice, the aircon a little weak, so we left it on while we were out and it was fine. The bed and linens were lovely. The shower was great. We went for our free drink on the roof (nice touch) the first night and went out. When we came back they'd left us a fruit plate in our room. From start to finish the people were excellent. Check-in was efficient and super friendly. There was always someone helping you by getting the door, giving directions, restaurant suggestions, hailing a cab, all of it. Some of the best English we dealt with in Myanmar was here and we had just really happy, really good service. Breakfast was really good - they have it in shifts so it doesn't get crowded and yet they let us stay as long as we wanted with coffee and drinks. Don't miss the things you can order a la carte, like the PB & CC pancakes. I would totally recommend the Merchant Art Boutique hotel and I would also return to it.

Great place to stay with a good location”
I enjoyed my stay at the Merchant Art Residence, the breakfast was good with a big selection by ordering from the kitchen. The rooms were Clean and the staff very professional and helpful. The only thing I missed is an area to sit an do some work in the lobby, or a bigger and cozier restaurant, however I think it is soon on the way with expansion of the bar area. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

Unbeatable for the price”
I used olive in Yangon and I am married to a Myanmar lady, so I know the area well. Hotels in Yangon tend to be like property and very over prices. We stayed in this hotel for 8 nights as we were visiting family. at $30 a night you could not ask for more. The rooms were spotless, insect free and cleaned very well every day. Nothing is too much trouble here. Bed was very comfortable, shower/wet room was superb. No bath in our room but it didn't bother us. TV reception very good and wifi throughout the hotel. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can not comment on the food, but there are many good restaurants near by. Staff spoke very good English. It's missing a pool, sure, but you can visit other hotel pools if thats what is needed. Chatrium is an excellent hotel but 5 times the price. Sedona is old and tired now and the rooms are not that clean. Book here, it's so worth it.

Great location ”
Merchant exceeded our expectations. Although the room was small, it was spotless. The interior room was quiet. WiFi was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful. Location was good. Staff was friendly. Desk is open 24 hours which was great since we arrived at midnight. Taxis were readily available outside the door. Price I booked was a lot lower just before arrival and agoda would not adjust to the new price.

Superb Place! Worth Money!”
The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful. They all can speak English in a level that can help you with your request. The room is spacious enough for 2 people. The shower space maybe a little bit too cramp but is really nice and clean. Breakfast variation is okay. The location is also convenient. There're a lot of nice food around and a convenient store. Not too far from Shwedagon Pagoda as well! Thanks Merchant Team! I will definitely come back.

So Nice!”
A lovely, clean and quiet room. Amazing spot if you want to see the Shwedagon Pagoda of course. We stayed here after we had been in Yangon already and that was basically what we wanted to see - A tad bit far from the rest of the city otherwise. The staff was beyond the nicest we had on our trip, so friendly and helpful. We checked out early for our flight and were given a breakfast box with a little cheese sandwich and such - nothing deluxe but since breakfast wasn't included it was nice to get!

Cosy and Warm Service”
Despite a momentarily blackout due to no electricity, my overall impression of this hotel is very positive. The staff members were very courteous and helpful when needing directions to places in the city. They are constantly smiling and ever ready to attend to guests' needs. The rooftop "cafe" sports a relaxing ambience that one could see the biggest Pagoda in Yangon. I would certainly come back again.

The Staff is Beyond Kindness”
At the beginning we just booked for one night and at the check-in time, the room was upgraded for free. We then book for other 2 nights, and get once again the coupon for free drink and room upgrade with a discount. We read a lot of bad review about the rooftop but once we get there, we totally cannot understand what people were talking about. The rooftop it's so nice and comfy with a stunning view of the Pagoda. You can enjoy the view while relaxing and drinking one of their amazing juice. In the end, the last day, we also had a late check-out option, for free. What else to say... Absolutely a great experience!

Nice hotel but could feel overprice”
This is a modern hotel in a good location (10 mins walking from main pagoda) however for the cheapest price they will give you non window room. That was disspaointing because 50$ deserve at least a window.. be careful when booking as i wont stay in a non window room unless is one quick night...

get a room with a window”
The overall appearance is really nice.Unfortunatly all window rooms were already booked out. The room was nicely decorated, however there was no closet. the safe is so small that a laptop doesnt fit into it. the walls were unfortunatly so thin and the door didnt close right, so that you can hear every word from your neighbors. There was no shower curtain or partitioning, therefore the whole bathroom is wet after showering. Staff was really trying (e.g. free fruits and flowert on arrival), however they gave us a bunch of wrong advices (e.g. the told us that if our flight is at 6:30 am, we should leave the hotel at least at 3:30 am ...totally unnecessary since the airport will only open around 5 and the taxi will take no more than 20 min during that time of the day...!) and they didn't understand some of the questions we had about Yangon. Around the hotel are a few places to eat and also a market at night. It is great to be so close to the Shwedagon pagoda and you order drinks / food to the rooftop.

Very Near Shwedagon Temple”
The location is near Shwedagon Temple but that's it, quite far away from downtown/town to eateries etc. It's more of a local area with local eateries and shops. Hotel has a rooftop view of Shwedagon but food and drinks at the hotel is expensive because the charges are in USD. Even if you have Kyat, they'll convert it based on the USD prices.

ใกล้ชเวดากอง พนักงานบริการดี”
Clean hotel Front desk and front door staff are quite well trained. They were ready to serve or assist guests. However the women staff in restaurant area were confused with menu or order. When ordered breakfast, they served the wrong table and asked guest to get it back by herself. Then another same menu came to her again. It seemed like they were not trained well but the rest of that, this hotel was good. Very besutiful view from the garden restaurant at top floor and staff there were well trained as well. I will go back again with bigger group and if we choose this hotel, we probably waive to the breakfast restaurant.

Excellent Staff and value for money - location not so good”
Difficult one to review as the hotel is good value for money and the staff first rate. If you want to visit the nearby temple then it is perfect... if you want to be near bars and nightlife it is a long way away and can be difficult to get a taxi back sometimes. Very clean and good standard for the price
