Amazing staffs”
The most precious thing of the resort is the staffs. They are just too nice and helpful! We had to leave the resort at around 5.30AM to catch our ferry back to the main land as we could not book any other ferry (limited choices on national holiday). It was dark and even rained, which was not a good time to jump on the speedboat and cross the ocean, but the staffs were still kind enough to help us reach the ferry terminal on time. They even prepared some sandwiches and juice for us! We can't say thank you enough! Other than that, the place is lovely with a beautiful private beach which is ideal for snorkeling. The food is delicious although the selection is a bit limited (I just love the lemon tea at the afternoon tea time!). There are detailed guidance on things to do and places to go on the island at each room. The resort offers plenty services at reasonable price, including massages, snorkeling and diving gears rental, transportation and tour to other islands, diving classes etc.

Thank you”
Thank you very much for being so nice to us. We were not supposed to stay at Minang Cove, but another resort told me that we were overbooked,so I suddenly found out this resort. And as a result it was welcoming happening for us. A shallow private beach is perfect. My 5 years old son and 70 years old mother enjoyed beach snorkeling. I saw a sea turtle when I was swimming and one more from the jetty. I know there’s more beautiful another beaches but all things considered,Minang Cove is very precious. All the staff are very kind and they look working happily. There is one thing that I regret. I forgot to hand them the tip. Next time I will. Thank you, especially Anna and Sazal and a lady at the restaurant. I miss English tea time and fish feeding. Please excuse me for my poor English.

Nice Resort”
We had our 3D2N stay here. + Pros - good arrangement of birthday celebration and cake from Ana ( resort staff will do their best for event arrangement) - clear water , can see coral and fishes from top - can snorkeling in front of resorts - after dinner fish feeding can see beautiful sharks and fishes - suitable for those who like calm, peaceful and quiet environment - every night have theme dinner, Malay ,Indian, chienese,BBQ ( we are lucky that on our Saturday night stay with theme dinner of BBQ) - beautiful view for sunrise and sunset + Cons - poor internet connection, only available incoming calls ( recommended to have WiFi as some of the business guest might need the connection even on holiday) - there is only allowance of one person for massage at one time, need to booking early. - only one pagoda provides for candle light dinner per night, recommended that resort can provide more tables/ arrangement for candle light dinner. Anyways all the facilities here are good and superb. All staff here are very good and friendly. I like here. Would recommend this resort to my friends. And probably will come back again if have chances.

Beautiful, Private Location!”
My family loved Minang Cove so much last year that we came back this year! Quiet, beautiful, peaceful and private - a perfect get-away. Staff are lovely. Cabins are adequate and comfortable. The pier is great fun for jumping and the snorkeling & diving are excellent! Highly recommended!!

It’s really a little paradise!”
We stayed for 6 days in the Minang cove resort. There is no WiFi and poor reach of the network but we didn’t miss it. Staff is amazing, especially to kids. The beach is white and clean, the wather clear with beautyfull fish and coral. There is a good Spa and nice boot trips to other nice places on the island. And don’t forget the good food. Thanks everyone for the amazing time.

Second time at Minang Cove. Great dive instructor! Very friendly staff. Beautiful resort reef. Pleasant experience.

Very good”
Nice point for Minang Cove is the location where it offers not just snorkelling/diving but accessible to hiking (Dragon’s Horn Peak) a nice walk (tho a bit far for non-regular hiker) to a Village (Mukut village) and a waterfall further from Mukut Village.

Good”
Minang Cove Resort does not make up to its price at all. Facilities do not come close to a 4-star standard but fall more or less in the category of a 3-star accomodation. Very simple rooms/huts. Safe box did not work. Boat-pickup from Juara was not possible. Pickup from Tekek was involving extra fees. The beach was very clean, though much smaller than expected. Swimming was not that easy due to shallow waters in the protected bay and rough sea further out. In general, the resort is very small and the location is very isolated, which, more or less, restricts activities to the resort (or the nearby resorts). This can result in a lack of privacy. The dinner was very nice. Breakfast, however, was as poor as it can be (toast & jam). Soft drinks were served instead of actual juices and, except melon, no fruits were available. Fish feeding from the jetty in the evening was very entertaining, seing sharks passing by.

Exceptional”
A little paradise! The staff accompanied me to go for snorkelling each time. I was well taking care of by he staff. The highlight is to feed the wild baby sharks after dinner under the stary sky. This was the second best experience after the chase of the Northern lights. The half board package is worth it. The tranquil location was just I needed for a relaxed holiday. No wifi no TV, just the sea and books. You can walk to the local village and water fall. The resort owner , Tony, had asked his staff, Nora , to accompany me to the local village since I was alone there. I will be back to this resort again in April. This resort is at the Southern part of Tioman island. Far away from Tulai Coral Island, but can get more hotel guests to share the boat to organise the trip. This is the 3rd most expensive resort in Tioman. I had walked to Tunamaya resort, Bagus resort and passerby the Japamalla resort. I had made the right choice to choose to stay at Minang Cove. If you want to have party, this is not your place.

Peaceful and professional resort, friendly staff, gorgeous snorkeling & diving”
From the point we arrived at the Minang Cove Resort jetty, to the the point we stepped off, my family and boyfriend felt taken care of. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the resort owner and helpers who took care of our luggage and ushered us into a cool shady spot to brief us on the resort, answer all questions and treat us to a yummy orange/mango cordial. Meals were well planned - breakfast, teatime and dinner were provided and looked forward to. You could also order lunch on-site the day off, if you ended up sticking around for lunch. My family was not certified for diving, but my boyfriend and I were. My family ended up enjoying snorkeling greatly just off the beach of the resort (highlight was seeing HUGE parrot fish in super shallow waters), while my boyfriend and I were treated to a variety of coral landscapes when we went diving. The diving instructors were friendly and shared their underwater photos with us at the end of the trip. Other fun activities were exploring the nearby village (30min hike away), getting a massage, playing board games which we brought, reading books from the resort library, and generally enjoying our simple but comfortable rooms and beds. The resort was very quiet and peaceful throughout our stay - all the guests seemed to have chosen to stay 3+ nights, so eventually we all got to know each other to some extent. The only challenge was perhaps the humidity, but walking out to the jetty to enjoy the ocean breeze helped a ton. All in all, highly recommended resort to visit!

Beautiful beach, peaceful and private. ”
2nd stay in Minang Cove Resort. Love the peacefulness of the resort as it is private. It is a short swim away to some snorkelling spots, pretty coral reefs in the crystal clear waters. Saw turtle and shark during the first stay. Room is big compare to some other resorts. Staffs are friendly and we do enjoy chatting with them. Will return to Minang Cove again.

Quiet, relaxing break”
It was a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The peacefulness of the resort allowed us to have a complete rest away from it all. However, the weather was a bit patchy which limited the time spent on the beach which is the sole attraction of the island, the "haze" from Sumatra cast its pall over the island from time to time making it unpleasant to be exposed to the pollution. Minang Cove itself is laid back though on reflection I would have preferred less regimented meal times. It was clear that the cook worked hard to produce meals however, despite her efforts the end product was not always a success as many of the dishes were bland presumably because they had to appeal to so many different people not all of whom would appreciate more authentic local cuisine. The cocktails were weak and expensive. I wish there was the facility for wifi which we got by going to the neighbouring hotel which also served proper brewed coffee, it also meant that the rival hotel also made money from us because we invariably bought lunch and snacks. Despite these setbacks we have fond memories of the genuine warmth and hospitality shown to us, Minang Cove is a lovely albeit old style place to go if you want get away from it all.

Beautiful home from home stay”
We are family of 4, children 11 and 7 years and we all had such an amazing time. We arrAnged this with another family who’s children are of similar age. The family rooms were great so relaxing and comfortable. A beautiful little bird would sing at our window ever morning! Then when we opened the curtains we had a beautiful view of the cove. So lucky! The boat trip I highly recommend although during Hari Raya it was difficult to buy lunch at the stop. Our high light was watching the feeding of the fish/sharks after dinner from the pier, it was amazing! All staff were attentive in Particular Anna really made sure we all had an enjoyable stay. Our children said the best holiday ever, result! Thank you Minang for making our precious holiday so memorable.

high price with low value for money”
(with breakfast and dinner)for a sea view room. The room was o.k., but not great. I would say 3 - 3.5 stars. The view was very nice, but just in front was a disturbing electrical cable. The food was good in taste, but definitely not worth the paid price (breakfast may be worth 4 Euro and the dinner maybe max. 10 Euro, for island condition). The boat transfer from the main jetty was additional (50 Euro per person for 2 ways; one way max. 10 min. and the return way about 20 min) The beach was clean and nice and the water was quite clear. Snorkeling condition was good. All the staff was very friendly and committed, and have tried to make our holiday as nice as possible. From the resort you can walk to a waterfall, but over there everything was quite run-down (typical for Malaysia, because once built nobody cares anymore) Just a few month before a snorkeler was overrun by a boat and died (not in this resort, but on this island), so it would be only logical that the authority should have done something, but unfortunately not. The motor boats are still passing by with a very short distance to the beach and disturbing the snorkeling activities. I am very curious, when will the next snorkeler or diver die. The ferry transport from Mersing was also only 3rd world standard. The distance between the seats was for people with a height taller then 1,70 m a one and a half hours torture. To the island the temperature in the ferry was freezing cold and on the way back the aircond was not working. Because of complains from the passengers the ferry crew started to clean the aircond using a vacuum cleaner(this should have been done during maintenance work the evening before). The last 20 min. of the journey the air was a bit cooler but smelled like old dust. Still some word about the main jetty in Tioman - dirty, rubbish all around, old rotten lorries at the road side, scrap, damaged children playground

Ideal resort for rest and relax”
We went there just for 2 nights and stayed in deluxe beachfront room which offered very good sea view. Getting to hotel was not as convenient as we initially thought. Ferry tickets from Mersing/Tanjong Gemok to Tioman were almost sold out we had no option but to follow the available ferry timing. Stay in the resort was quite enjoyable although there was no TV and no wifi at the hotel.

Nicey stay but costly”
Considerably good 2 day stay. Night fish feeding particularly interesting where sharks could be seen and staff were friendly. Other than that, nothing very great. Choices for activities limited to what available in and around the hotel with the option for snorkeling and beach activities. Not much fish can be seen though and beach area was limited for children to enjoy. There was also additional charges imposed by hotel for ferry transfer from Genting Jetty in Tioman to Hotel and vice versa. Quite absurd as this should already be included in room rate. The location is secluded and far from other main attractions if you would like to enjoy other places around the island. The hotel will charge exorbitantly for transfer e.g. RM100 for one way transfer to Juara Beach (nice sandy beach area). Room was ok but very expansive. Got also to be careful for monkeys and cannot enjoy outdoor because of mosquitoes. If have other options, would not choose this hotel.

Awesome diving, snorkeling, helpful informative staff”
We are from the USA, this is our first dive/snorkel trip in Asia, so I don't know if this is typical or not. The snorkeling was better than diving at most of the places we have dove around the Americas. We snorkeled at low tide and the schools of fish were all around you, the coral so close you and to make sure you didn't hit it with your arms. Anemones with their families of clown fishes, sea turtles, baby sharks... all right in the cover. We were not planning on diving, but the diving was so beautiful we ended going out almost every day. Stormy the dive master was friendly, informative, relaxing to dive with. We stayed for 6 nights, my husband and I are advanced open water PADI - we did about 7 boat dives. My newbie sister did 2 discovery dives. There is no wifi. They do have digi phone service which is compatible with the USA ATT&T and Verizon phone plans. We took a nice daily morning walk to the neighbor resort to do our wifi "stuff" before breakfast. It was great to NOT have wifi pulling at your relaxation time.

Affordable luxury resort”
Very enjoyable stay despite the sea being too rough to snorkel from the resort. The friendly and competent team from the dive school provided some great snorkeling trips, so it wasn't a problem. The staff of the resort did everything they could to make everyone's stay pleasant and memorable. A big effort made around the food too. I can wholeheartedly recommend this resort.

Food needs improvements”
The staff are attentive and friendly, satisfy with the service provided. If you have more budget, a deluxe beach front is much nicer than sea view cabin. However, the food needs improvements, both lunch and dinner. I wouldn't pay for lunch at that price if I have other option. Portion for breakfast can be more generous. It would be great if the hotel don't charge for life jacket, it is something essential for someone who are not good at swimming. The snorkeling trip is also rather expensive as compared to other resorts.
