The rooms were next to the tracks: despite a shinkasen running next to our room, we cannot hear anything. This is great. The hotel is walking distance to the Kyoto Station, no possibilities of getting wet. The room is roomy enough for us inspite of having 3 big piece of luggage; you just need to better manage where to store. Oh this is interesting - we were misdirected to a almost similar name hotel(Miyako). The bellman loaded our luggage and brought us across the street to check-in at Miyako City Kintetsu Hotel. Excellent Japanese hospitality.

Fantastic Location”
The location of the hotel was fantastic, just above Kyoto Station. To get there, head for the Kintetsu Line and look for the signs. We had a slightly hard time locating the hotel due to the complexity of the station layout. Staff were extremely friendly. We arrived earlier and they allowed us to store our luggage at reception. Room was big and clean. The hotel was recently renovated and this can be seen from the hallway but the furniture in the room was slightly dated. Nonetheless, a comfortable stay.

Top notch hotel right at Kyoto Station. Nice room with view of Shinkansen trains for railfans and a large window on other side of the corridor with terrific views of Kyoto Station. Very comfortable bed. Very good breakfast except for a bun which was a bit stale. Will helpfully keep luggage for those who arrive early or are still sightseeing in Kyoto after check-out.

Mayako City is located in Kyoto Station building. There are many souvenir shops and restaurants around. And it is easy to access many different transportations!

Small but clean and convenient ”
Very convenient although the area around the hotel is not the most lively in Kyoto. Room while small, was very functional and clean. Convenient vending machines at the floor's lift lobby. Rooms are very well sound proofed against the sounds of the trains just a few floors down but are not built to keep out the sounds of your neighbors. On our last night, we heard noises on the wall coming from the room beside us. The noises were persistent and I made out the noise as a kid playing with his toy car on the wall or the ledge against the wall. I called the reception 3 times to get them to inform our neighbors of the noise but it persisted over an hour. The noise finally stopped around midnight when I knocked the wall in response to the noise. Would have been a better experience if not for this.

The location is great which is really close to JR/metro and restaurants nearby. Staff are helpful and polite. Room is clean and comfortable. It would be better if ice machines are available in each floor.

Right at the Kyoto station - no need to go walking around dragging your bag trying to find your hotel outside the station. Supermarkets, restaurants, etc. are right outside the hotel. Very convenient.

Young Married Couple 1st Japan Trip”
Best location for convenience to restaurants, shopping and transportation. Rooms were slightly bigger than other Japanese hotels that we stayed in. Rooms were not as new/modern but clean and comfortable. Beds were quite hard for our liking. Great staff and great value for the price.
