The staff/owner was very nice and helpful. But with all the rule and signs of don't do this and don't do that. It's not a friendly atmosphere. Had to ask for everything. Ask to turn on hot water for shower. Buzz every time to get in or out of property . Plus the big dead cockroach in the bathroom was nasty.

since the earthquake in jan 2012, it's really the only place to stay. the maria nina's inn on the ocean highway went out of business then, but this is a better room anyway, with actual hot water in the shower, and probably the best furnishings in town. the bed was a little hard, and they did not provide breakfast, but those were the only detractors on a wonderful stay. the air conditioner worked well, and after hours noise was minimal (which was a concern of mine since it's near city center). also, my feeling of security was very good there. guihulngan is a "college town" with two large and at least one smaller university, so if you're a single male traveler, you may want to pay a visit. their agoda listing that says they provide breakfast is in error. plan accordingly. hopefully they will fix that.
