Highly recommend for comfort, value and proximity to Charlie Beach!”

We had a wonderful stay at Mookies Bungalows and highly recommend their place for comfort, value and proximity to Charlie Beach (west side of island). Sivalai (on the east side of island) is beautiful but dominated by the resort. Charlie is large, offers kayaking and has several beach restaurants. Plus, it’s the right side for sunset and only 10 minutes from Mookies. Note that as of early 2018, Charlie Beach Resort is closed until further notice, so don’t anticipate using their facilities as in the past. The Mookies team was friendly and helped us book taxis, deliveries of large water (less plastic) and our ferry transfer to Koh Jum. Rooms were large, and although we did not have AC, they were comfortable at night with the fan. Best of all, we got to know Wan and her family a bit (owners and staff) and ended up volunteering with her for a Trash Hero beach cleanup event on the island. We would return to Koh Mook and stay at Mookies Bungalows again!

My wife and I had a lovely stay in Mookies Bungalows. We stayed in an Air Conditioned bungalow which was a great size and immaculately clean. The property is located a 5 min walk down to Farang beach which is beautiful and chilled. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we always enjoyed chatting to them, and they can book trips to neighbouring islands like Kradan and rent motorbikes. The food in the restaurant is excellent, a broad range of Thai fare and some western. Restaurant open 730am until late at night, and they have a great seafood BBQ at night with whatever has been caught (in our stay it was red snapper and sea bass). Quiet at night and big comfortable beds. Bungalows set in a lovely tropical garden, nice to sit in the morning or evening reading on your bungalow balcony. Excellent value for money and would 100% recommend to anyone staying on Koh Mook!

Great place”

I love my staying at Mookies,the bungalow is spacious,the bed is comfy. The resort is located approximately 5/7minutes away from Charlie beach which is probably the best, specially for admire the amazing Sunset. Ko Mook town is 3km away,you can easily rent a moped from the resort or pay 50 bat for a tuk tuk.

This is the second time I stayed at Mookies bungalow. I love this place,near to the beach, friendly staff,great food,nice bungalow.

Friendly staff and great location”

The location of Mookies is ideal as it's right near to Haad farang beach which is a great spot to chill out. The bungalows are really modern and clean and the staff were so helpful! Loved it!!!!!!!!

Good stay”

The owner and staff are wonderful here. Mook is already getting pricey for a not-well known island, but it’s with it here. The only problem is the Ting Tong Bar next door can sometimes keep the noise up after midnight, so bring earplugs if you’re in one of the bamboo bungalows. Also, the bungalow closest to the restaurant had good WiFi.

Pleasant ”

We came in July which is low season and unfortunately the emerald cave was closed, which we did not know before coming. There is not much to do on the island so 3 nights was a bit long for us- 2 young women. We did enjoy the stay however and were happy we chose a room with air con. We liked how quiet mookies was as it is farther away from the main area. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Luckily we booked only for 1 night!”

On arrival the staff at Mookies informed us that the toilet in the booked Bungalow won't flush and they booked us into Rubbertree Bungalow which is located nearby (even closer to the Charly beach). There were two other guests checking in 5 mins later and we met them at Rubbertree later... It seemed like a scam to increase the bookings for both resorts. The first bungalow we got at Rubbertree was full of mold and smelled awfully. The second bungalow was okay to for one night but we were happy to checkout next day.

Excellent stay”

Super friendly staff and host. Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We only stayed 3 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. Great location, very quiet, good massages and good food in the restaurant. Very comfortable rooms and bed. Cannot wait to return.

Calm place next to the best beach in Koh mook”

Very good location, 5’ walking to the nicest beach of the island (Charlie’s). Few restaurants on the way too. Basics bungalows with fan, mosquito net,towels provided, no sheets, cleaning service was not the best, but we still enjoyed our stay in this very peaceful place.. would go back!

Close to best beach on island”

Nice resort with good restaurant and service. Close to Charlie sunset beach ( 2 minute walk) - the best beach on island. All workers speak very good english, way better than in other places.

The tent was the most comfortable I'd stayed in in Thailand,the staff were all very helpful and the location is excellent for Charlie beech .

Quiet bungalows near Charlie beach”

Near to Charlie Beach, Long distance to centre of Village. Thai atmosfere, not european comfort (no swimmingpool, simply bathroom)

Filthy, loud & falling apart”

The pictures for the bungalows are very misleading. The bathroom door was literally falling off it's hinges, the fake wood laminate on the floor was badly bubbling & peeling, and there was a massive gap under the front door. There was a lot of noise from the nearby bar & at one point I woke up to a rat (in my room!) chewing on my bag. Not okay! The room was never made up & the staff seemed annoyed at my request for more toiletries. I can't recommend this place even for the low price.

Very loud!”

The tents looked like a nice idea, but are actually right next to a very loud bar & a local's home, meaning there's noise from the bar until the wee hours & then loud conversation & revving motor bikes early in the morning. We didn't sleep. The shared bathrooms are okay, but the shower is very dirty. We booked through reception for transport to Trang but they screwed it up & we almost didn't make it off the island. The only good part about this place is the restaurant, which is good food for lower prices than most other places on the island. Just forget about trying to sleep.

Excellent location and facilities to enjoy the sunset side of the island (kayak, diving, boat trips..) and very friendly staff, definitely looking to come back here soon!

Coup de Coeur à Koh Mook”

Mon coup de coeur à Koh Mook. Nous avons passé trois nuits dans cet havre de paix. Je conseille le bungalow sur la colline qui propose une belle vue sur l'ensemble de l'hôtel. Une gérante très accueillante et bienveillante. Elle nous aide pour chaque question ou demande pour découvrir cette île. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir!
