Sun, beach and thai culture - we all loved it!”
We were a group of 12 adults traveling to Koh Lanta and chose Moonlight Excotic Bay Resort due to its location, previous customer reviews and moderate pricing. We wanted a high standard resort with an own swimming pool and clean and comfortable rooms with a view over the Andaman Sea. The only minus we thought about beforehand was a rocky beach, but you could actually take a swim there so it was not a problem at all in the end. All in all he resort was a dream come through to all of us - it was everything we had wished for and more. The seaview and beachfront jacuzzi rooms were spacious and clean with an own terrass with a splendid seview. The seaview rooms are located on top of a hill and even if the climbing up the stairs can sometimes be a struggle it is worth the view. The beachfront jacuzzi room was located at the beach so no climbing there. The jacuzzi however was a disappointment - not worth the extra money. We also had in use a hill top room whish was okay. A bit older but therefore also a bit cheaper. The room's terrass was facing the pool. The fourth room type we had was a Riverside room. Even if this is the cheapest type of room it is still not pleasant. Rather small, the shower was not good and the "riverview" is not nice. If you can afford, we recommend to choose at least the Hill Top room instead! All rooms are peaceful and have there own pricay - they are not built too close to each other. The resort is casual, and very nice and cosy. The pool area is nice with sunchairs and pool towels. The restaurant serves good food, both thai cuisine as well as European - we actually ate here almost every day. The breakfast on the other hand could be a bit worked on. They have a chef making omelettes, fried egg and bacon, but the variety is rather small. The hotel offers a free ride 2-3 times a day to the close-by beach. We warmly recommend this hidden gem, and look forward to visit Moonlight Bay Resort again soon!

Lovely Resort With Outstanding Food!”
we loved it. we stayed in the cheapest little bungalow, and were very pleased with the accommodations for the price we paid. room was basic but clean. shower & a/c both worked great. bed was comfy. we were close to the office and could even pick up wifi. we loved the river running in front, and enjoyed watching wildlife there. very cool lizards in the water. but it's mainly the resort itself that is great. the beach is rocky and small, but we always had it to ourselves. we enjoyed the views, and the solitude. the pool area is great for laying around to read and relax. the restaurant is the best! breakfast is really good. we enjoyed our lunches as well. but dinner is awesome. the setting is lovely, with the tables under the trees overlooking the beach. we enjoyed sunset, and then dinning in the twilight listening to the sound of the surf. food is just outstanding! we loved every single thing we tried. and we had just incredibly lovely service from everyone at the resort. they have taken hospitality to great heights. we enjoyed the staff so much...honestly they are the best we've ever had anywhere. they double booked our room for the last night, and so they moved us to the honeymoom cottage - no charge. wow! just wonderful. the views from the deck were wonderful, and we really enjoyed our stay there. all in all, we have to say, koh lanta, and moonlight bay offered us the perfect blend of things to do and the perfect place to relax as well. we could not have asked for any thing more perfect.

Lovely Hotel”
I arrived at the hotel on a mini van transfer from Krabi (for 300 baht). The open outdoor reception area was impressive, rooms nicely decorated, spacious and quiet. You can enjoy your breakfast overlooking a gorgeous beach area, or have dinner and watch the sunset over the horizon. The restaurant, bar, massage spa, gym and swimming pool is also located near in close proximity to the beach. Or order in room service and stay tucked up in your room. Moonlight Exotic Bay Hotel seemed to be located in an accessible area for the tours companies to collect me and for my private taxi to drop me off at the pier for a mere 200 baht. It was a lovely hotel and would recommend it if you want a quiet, tranquil getaway from the busier part of the island.

Moonlight Bay”
My list of cons is long, but don't get me wrong: I liked Moonlight Bay. We stayed in a Forest View room for three laid-back nights. Room was quiet, cozy, and comfortable -- each day the towels were folded in a different cute arrangement -- but the bathroom wasn't quite up to expectations: the toilet and shower were right next to each other, so when taking a shower the floor around the toilet inevitably gets wet. The bathroom was also poorly ventilated (no fan!) and as a result smelled bad. Everything else was great, though -- the restaurant was tasty, if a bit pricey (~900B for dinner for two); the beach was quiet and relaxing. One day we took the daily shuttle to nearby Klong Nin beach, which is much better for swimming. Recommended, but bring a beach towel unless you want to pay for a chair. On the way back if the shuttle doesn't show up on time, don't hesitate to ask the bar there to call (the Lanta Nice Beach bar and Moonlight Bay are apparently owned by the same person, and one of the women at the bar there made the call for us.)

The best place to stay in Loh Lanta”
This resort is a gem. Located in a quiet part of Koh Lanta, it is the perfect place for a restful stay. Although it does not have a nice sandy beach, the many rocks along the resort's coastline are a pretty sight and a beauty to behold. I stayed in a sea view villa which was very spacious, clean, and looked refurbished not long ago. Although a little more pricey compared to eating at the many eateries found around Koh Lanta, the food served at the resort's Moonlight Cuisine was delectable. What I found most enjoyable throughout my stay was the spectacular sunsets seen from the lovely pool and bar area. The resort's strategic location provides guests with the best seats in Koh Lanta for the best sunset views to end the day.

Moonlight Bay couldn't have been any nicer!”
Of the 7 hotels I stayed in during my travels in Thailand this was by far my favourite. I stayed for 4 nights with my friend and neither of us could fault the place. It was so peaceful we could happily have stayed much longer and watched the sunsets night after night from the beach bar. The staff were extremely helpful in advising us of how to get around. The pool was excellent and even though the private beach is rocky it is stunning and the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus to the gorgeous sandy beach of Khlong Nin down the road. Will definitely be recommending Moonlight Bay to anyone who visits Koh Lanta.

Amazing beachfront accommodation”
Moonlight Exotic Bay was a relaxing stay. I enjoyed chilling by the beach at the bar. Staff were friendly and helpful in recommending tours. There is not too much within walking distance so it is best to explore the island by renting a scooter from the hotel. The beach had lots of hermit crabs and we saw many lizards by the creek. The beautiful surrounding nature does mean that there are mosquitos around. Recommended stay.

the most beautifull resort in the southern islands”
We came to Koh Lanta without knowing, that only one hotel can make your stay on this island to a superb experience, and that is Moonlight Bay Resort, placed dirctly by the sea and the junglelike vegetation. Watching the sun going down is one of the most romantic. If you are going to Koh Lanta, you might choose this hotel.

Awesome. Relaxing. Blissful. Fun. Great service.”
My friend and I needed to get away and relax. We loved the quietness of Moonlight. We spent most of the days on the deck chairs overlooking the beach reading, painting, chatting and being served food. We loved fossicking on their secluded beach for shells and watching the hermit crabs. We'd wander to the bar in the afternoon and sit on the beanbags drinking cocktails out of pineapples and coconuts and watch the sunset. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was good. My favourite was the Tom yum. There was a great selection of food at breakfast buffet. We had a pool access room and it was awesome. It was much quieter than the restaurant side pool. And we'd drop in for a dip, morning and night to refresh. Even in the rain (it only rained one night). The rooms were modern and comfortable with all facilities we wanted. Luxurious toiletry range from Voyag, hairdryer, kettle, coffee, tea, bottled water and wifi. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Moonlight is only a 10 minute walk to Klong Nin and there is a taxi and tuk tuk station across the road from Moonlight, so it was so easy to pop down to Seven 11 for snacks or to do some shopping. Thank you soo much to Add, Rati and staff for treating us like VIPs and becoming friends. We left refreshed, relaxed, refocused, satisfied and full of plans to return someday soon. 🍾🍹🍴🍍⛱🛁💙

Probably Lanta's best kept secret”
We booked four nights but stayed for eight as we just love this very wecoming family run resort. We had a river view bungalow which is very clean, well equiped and nicely decorated, but if you can afford the sea view bungalows they are terrific. Our room was cleaned and towels changed every day. Every single staff member is very nice, smiling and helpful, especially the manager, Ken, a very funny, professional and welcoming guy. The food is great and the restaurant and bar, located near the pool and in front of ocean, is very comfy and affordable. That's great since there are no other restaurants in the immediate area. About the beach, it's important to know that the resort's private beach is very small and rocky at low tide but the resort offers a free daily transfer to the closest bay (Klong Nin) which is one of our favorite beaches on Lanta. We will definitely come back here.

Amazing!!”
We thought our stay at Moonlight Bay was more than we could have asked for. This was the highlight of the trip, Koh Lanta was such a relaxing island and Moonlight Bay makes it all the better. The bed was nice, the restaurant was great, included breakfast was delicious, the private beaches are very nice, and there's even a bar at night. We will go back.

Lovely hotel”
I do not recommend taking a bus or a 'VIP'mini van to Koh Lanta. Take the ferry if your coming from Phuket. Also do yourself a favor and stay in a forest room or better. Besides the miserable mattress and bed bugs from the river view room , we could also hear traffic from the road at night. The forest view room was WONDERFUL. Also, make sure you rent a scooter from hotel and explore the island. Its worth the trip to koh lanta for the moonlight bay. stay for at least 3 nights.

Run don't walk to Moonlight Bay!”
We had high expectations after reading the reviews of Moonlight Bay. And we weren't disappointed! What a beautiful place! From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. We had been in Thailand for three weeks and the staff at Moonlight Bay were the best - no contest! They are so friendly and kind - it was the only place we felt deserved the "Land of Smiles" label. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing. Great rooms and nice balconies. The restaurant had good food at reasonable prices and friendly staff. This was our best experience in Thailand. Highly recommend!!

Lovely resort and restuarant”
We had such a lovely time at Moonlight Bay, the room and staff were just really lovely. Wonderful banter with the restuarant staff. We will come back to moonlight in a heartbeat. Was extremely easy to get anywhere very cheap, all organised by the reception staff, as well as any tours we wanted. Lanta is a beautiful island and Moonlight just as beautiful resort.

Relaxation comes naturally, oh yes it does!”
The slogan, "relaxation comes naturally" sums up the moonlight bay experience. We had an incredibly relaxing time! The setting is magical, romantic, and breathtakingly beautiful. We stayed in the cheapest room, and thought it was awesome...not even tacky decorations like many of the other places we've stayed in Thailand. My husband loved all the "giant" lizards in and by the river. We loved relaxing by the pool, laying on the private beach, dipping in the ocean. We are lazy vacationers, and this resort was enough to satisfy us for 10 days with no need for outside entertainment. The only "complaint" we have is the food is a bit pricey for Thailand, and only average, although the free buffet breakfast was GREAT! I think it was my husband's favorite part! I didn't like the roaming cats, but well, if that was my biggest complaint, things weren't too bad :)

beautiful honeymoon suite”
We treated ourselves to honeymoon suite at Moonlight Bay for last 5 days of our holiday which was wonderful. Waterfall jacuzzi on balcony overlooking the sea meant you could sit there watching spectacular sunset with a cold Singha in your hand. Restaurant staff were lovely - just right balance of professionalism and friendliness. Reception staff also very helpful. Shame not much of a beach but Klong Nin beach where hotel transport drops you off fine with wide selection of bars and restaurants. Breakfast ok but not brilliant. Could be more of a selection.

Brilliant bungalow accommodation.”
Moonlight Bay was a little gem, great value for money some people paid at least double/triple this amount. The staff were very helpful and friendly, pool area was lovely but a little small good pool temperature, nice and cool unlike other pools in Thailand. Koh Lanta is a fabulous place for a chill out.

Peaceful and Beautiful”
We spent a week at Moonlight and it gave us everything that we needed. A chance to relax and unwind. The room had air con a large bed, and hot showers. There is also a mini fridge in the room and a daily supply of water bottles. Rooms are turned down as often as you wanted. We also got a large balcony that overlooks the resort which is filled with trees and plantlife, you feel as if you are in a jungle. There are 2 pools, we used the one by the beach and restaurant. There are 2 cabana style beds and a few hammocks. It's so lovely and quiet as the beach is secluded. There are quite a few rocks on the beach but that's common down along the coastline. Service was excellent, polite and helpful. It sits in between Khlong Khlong and Khlon Nin beach, you can head in towards Khlong Nin and its much cheaper to hire a scooter from one of the tour operators down there. We also booked our tours away from the hotel as it was much cheaper. You will need to hire a scooter or take a tuk tuk down to those beaches for more variety of bars and restaurants.

Moonlight Bay Resort”
Moonlight bay boasts of a private beach, where there is virtually no one else on this beach except the guests of the hotel. Though the beach is not the perfect, sandy beach with clear waters, it is nonetheless a good place to chill. The rooms are nice and cosy. We even made friends with the chef, and had him bring us to the market and then whip up a wonderful meal for us. We even enjoyed a lovely dinner by the beach. The receptionist was friendly and helpful too. The staff even helped us contact our next hotel to ensure that there is someone to pick us up! REally awesome service.

THE BEST”
We would recommend Moonlight resort to everyone. It is quiet and calm so you can relax. We stayed in the room that has access to the swimming pool and it's awesome. The room is beautiful and super clean. The shower and the bathroom are really good to (everything looks just exactly like the pictures). There is a gym that's simple but good enoguh to work out. It is super close to the beach and it has this amazing spider seats where you can contemplate the sunset. The restaurant is expensive but the food is amazingly tasty and good (between 200-250 bahts a dish but we would definetly recommend to eat there). In conclusion, we think that we paid a lot less for such a place. The room was really cheap in comparison to the room and the services that this resort offers. Also, the staff is super kind and sweet and helpful. We are delighted. Moreover, we were able to rent bikes for a couple of hours for free!
