Great price in a beautiful setting”

I very much enjoyed staying at Moto-Hakone Guest House. The innkeeper spoke excellent English and gave me great sightseeing recommendations based on my interests. The room was comfortable and she explains the futon and robe for travelers who may not be familiar with Japanese customs. Only negative thing I noticed was that there was no air conditioning, which wasn't a problem that night as it was pretty cool but it could be an issue on hotter nights. I'd definitely recommend staying there though, it's accessible to so many great sites of Hakone!

Delightful guest house with good access to Moto Hakone”

A lovely guest house and a delightful host. We felt very welcome at Moto Hakone and he even gave us a handmade map of the area! The guest house is right outside a very convenient bus stop, but we preferred to walk the very scenic stone paths. We only stayed one night but would happily have stayed much longer, a very strong option with delightful touches. (there is a small pond with plastic frogs in the garden!)

Cozy, simple and perfect ”

I really like how cozy and relax it is, room and bathroom is very clean and sufficient. The host, amazingly speaks great English and mandarin (or more maybe) is kind and helping. I stayed two nights here and felt very comfortable, spending my day to see the nature, back there after dark do some reading or chat a bit with the host, very peaceful as I hoped Hakone to be. It's a simple Japanese house and y ou might hear others talking, so it's certainly not for party. Guests there was all quiet and conscious about it, I didn't feel disturbed even hbhearing someone talking, and I slept really well there. If you like to enjoy the nature and peaceful time, not so much up for fancy banquets etc. this is a perfect place to be. I'm looking forward to come back here again in other season. ( one thing if It could be better: be good to have a lamp in the room for reading :D )

Exceptional”

A great location near lake Ashi to view Fuji san, shrine by walking only 15 min. Easy access by bus from Odawara station to hotel front. The staff helped a lot by giving very good tourist information and recommendation.

Excellent”

It was a cosy homestay. Host was really nice and made sure we had a pleasant stay. We arrived at in the evening, host even offered to order in food for us as it was dark outside. However, we decided to explore around the neighborhood, he provided us with a map and the directions to the restaurant. It was a 10mins walk to the restaurant and there was lawson (convenience store) nearby. He even instructed the restaurant owner to give us a lift back.

A cozy room, the host is warm and friendly. No restaurants nearby, 15 minutes walk to Lawson (no lights along the path or walk along the highway).

Spartan accommodations at an accessible location”

This place is very accessible via public transportation and is close to many tourist sites in Hakone. It has spartan facilities. Comfortable place to sleep. I wish the Guest House had a bidet in the common toilets, to make them more comfortable for the guests. The owner/manager was helpful in giving us advice on how to reach our destination.

Minpaku in Central Hakone”

The name of the property is "guesthouse", but in Japanese, the "minpaku" aspect seemed more aptly named to me. My friend and I booked a room in Moto-Hakone Guest House because we were walking the Tokaido from Tokyo to Kyoto and were passing through Hakone. The prices for lodging in Hakone are inflated, meaning the cost-performance isn't great anywhere in the area. But this minpaku was very close to the Tokaido, and had a relatively lower cost than its competitors in the area. The man who ran the guest house was nice enough and explained the rules of the house and tendencies of the area (everything closes very early!) clearly. There was a bath, which was necessary for us doing long-distance walking. Food was not included in the reservation. The room was a traditional Japanese tatami room with futons. It was well heated, came with yukatas to be worn post-bath, and the beds were comfortable. Would recommend to walkers and people looking for a decent deal in a pretty expensive area

Super lieu typique pour un agréable séjour ”

La chambre spacieuse et l'accueil formidable de cette charmante japonaise s'exprimant très bien en anglais.. La literie est tres bonne, le prix reste un peu élevé pour une nuit en guesthouse, mais ce sont les tarifs appliqués à hakone ! Très agréable séjour de 3nuits

房东曾经在上海工作过，所以他会说一些中文。人对于客人的要求基本上也是耐心的问答。服务态度很不错，房间内卫生还不错，不过电视机没有几个频道，而且房间隔音效果很差。 到店当天可以预定晚餐和第二天的早餐看了一下，其实价格也还算能够接受的范畴之内，味道就不知道怎么样了，因为我们没有吃。还是挺方便的。 因为在山上，所以离最近的便利店罗森还是有一些距离，大概要走十分钟的样子，不过也算是可以接受。基本上适合行李不会太多，而且体力还可以的年轻人，年纪大的就不建议了。 缺点的话就是没有独立的卫浴了，不过对于浴室的房子这也是没有办法的，可是如果讲究特别爱干净的话不建议。

老闆會說中文，很親切！早到了就幫我們提早入住！小小日式民宿，床鋪都很舒服，暖氣設備十分齊全！像家一般！位置也不難找，大芝站下車就見到了！

老板很亲切热心，会说一些中文，语言不会有太大问题。房间的整洁度舒适度都还不错，公用浴室等设施非常清洁，房间也都是分开的，不会有噪音等，整体入住体验良好。位置离一个巴士站特别近，交通不算不方便。在湖边靠近森林，属于环境特别好的民宿的感觉，性价比高，我个人很满意。

入住地址希望老板可以更改正确，要不然过去真心找不到！我们下午过去，天气也不是太好，按照地址去找结果找到晚上~~~好在附近的好心人用手机查找帮我们带过去！活脱脱得走了一个站~~心很累呀~~建议要预定的小伙伴提前咨询老板具体地址和交通方式！
