Location wise, there is no where better”
Just besides all the must-see attractions. 1 min to Nara Park 5 mins to the Giant Buddha 5 mins to shopping street 5 mins to Kasuga Taisha grand shrine etc... Clean and comfortable. However, parking in these areas is generally scarce and expensive. That is one thing to look out for if one is travelling by car. I would recommend solo travellers or couples to travel by public transport as they are economical, frequent, and convenient.

I absolutely loved my stay at Nara Guesthouse, Akie and the staff are so kind, polite and welcoming. If you're looking for a cosy traditional stay, then look no further. I would definitely come to this hostel if I come back to Nara. They have all the facilities you need, the bathroom style is like a mini 'Sento' great way to relax after a long day of walking. The whole place is decorated tastefully and the ambience is lovely, it is also super clean! It is close to Nara Park the highlight of Nara. Hope I have a chance to see you again Akie, I will bring my friend Kumamon :)

For the Experience of a Traditional House”
Hospitality-wise, it was excellent. I like the environment. I was there during non-peak period and hence, the place was quiet, what more with other considerate guests. However, this place is really far from any convenience stores. It makes it difficult to get additional bite. One extra good thing about this place is that it is located in one of the many streets that still have traditional houses. It was really pleasant to go out for a walk at night.

Traditional guesthouse style”
I have a tatami style room, which is great and love it. Love the guesthouse style as it's a renovated house from the original Japanese house so most of the house is still just like a traditional Japanese house. The guesthouse near the nara park but a bit far from the train station.

Make sure you know that check in is until 22:00”
I was delayed arriving in Nara due to an error with trains from Kyoto station, however I booked here because there was no check in time until mentioned until other guest houses I saw in Nara had, so I assumed that it would be open for check in when I arrived. When I arrived around 23:40 nobody was there, and I couldn’t get any response by calling. Finally one of the other guests let me know and showed me an available bed. In the morning when I explained this to the staff she was rude and angry towards me and didn’t want to know my story. She replied one word in Japanese which I didn’t understand. I said I was sorry if she was angry. I later saw a message that was in my junk email folder sent at 22:00 the night before, but I hadn’t seen it as it had gone to my junk mailbox. Anyway I submitted all my passport details and paid. I tried not to think about this negative event too much as I didn’t want all the bad feeling to spoil my last day in Japan in Nara. Moral of the story is be aware, you cannot check in after 22:00.

Ok location for access, but far from train station. Very clean, but I Got bitten by insects, I hope that this was just a coincidence because it hadn’t happened before in Japan. Towel or pajamas not included with the price, they have everywhere else in Japan. Dorm tiny and had six beds, I wouldn’t want to be in it when it is at capacity. Bed was comfortable

I stayed for three nights and I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Everyone is exceptionally friendly, the food is delicious and very fair priced and Nara park with all the attractions, as well as Nara-Machi is just around the corner. The train station is easy to access via bus, which leaves 3 minutes away from the guest house. A big plus: they provide free ear plugs, if you require them. I will definitely recommend this place and be back, when I can.

I had a wonderful stay in this cute small guesthouse! Really nice neighborhood with cafes, shops and close to Nara park as well! Go there and don‘t forget to have a Ginger&Lime Tee at the Cafe which belongs to the guesthouse!

The staff is super friendly. I love the place! (Travel alone but felt very cozy and welcome in this hostel!) matrace is big. (Not as thin as different hostels..) and very clean! Even if i am drunk right now, i tell you the truth!!!! Nara Guest House Best!!

Old house that has been converted into a guesthouse. They have a bar, and there is a sake distillery 2min walk away. Awesome place, but it can get cold so they give you a hot water bottle for your bed!

It has a family atmosphere. Clean showers. Exterior garden, with easy access (you can check the weather before going out :)). When checking out, the young lady from the reception made effort to show me kindness. and hospitability. God bless her heart with a continuous flow of kindess!

Great location and friendly staff”
This guesthouse was in the perfect location for our trip! The cafe in the front was very cute and a great place to lounge. The staff were extremely helpful and gave us great local recommendations. My only concern is that the walls between are very thin, so you can hear guests in the room next door and in the kitchen. However, the staff offer earplugs to help with this. I highly recommend taking them!

Nous avons passé 4 nuits à la guesthouse Hamunabi. La maison traditionnelle Japonaise est très jolie, la chambre spacieuse et l'accueil parfait. Le bar est très agréable et la restauration excellente. La guesthouse est un peu éloignée de la gare mais très bien desservie par le bus et proche du parc à pied. Le quartier est calme et il y a plusieurs jolies maisons traditionnelles dans les rues voisines. La meilleure guesthouse où nous sommes allés au Japon. Merci beaucoup.

初めてのゲストハウス”
奈良国立博物館の「正倉院展」に行くべく奈良行きを計画しました。学生なので出来る限り旅費を抑えようと勇気を出して人生初のゲストハウスに宿泊しました。怖い人と一緒になったらどうしようかと不安でしたが、同室の人も同じように一人旅の大学生で話が弾み、素敵な思い出が出来ました。来年以降も可能な限り「正倉院展」に行きたいので、奈良を再訪する際はまた泊まりたいです。女将さん手作りの朝食もヘルシーで美味しく頂きました！地酒飲み比べを頼み忘れたので、次回は必ず地酒を満喫したいです笑
