Naria Hotel, Bangkok - Hotel Review ”
I stayed in Narai Hotel from 7/8/09 to 9/8/09. This is my first stay in Narai Hotel though I have been to Bangkok many times. The first impression is it has a very big lobby. The room is also large and comfortable. I took the Airport shuttle bus which goes to Silom (service AE1)and it is one of the few hotels where the Bus stops at the front of the Hotel which is very convenient and cost savings. Bus fare is only 150 Bahts as compared to taxi fare of about 500 Bahts. The swimming pool is good and clean and the staff there are helpful and friendly. To me the best service comes from the Housekeeping which cleans my room well and respond to my request in a fast respones time. The Hotel location is good as I can go to shoppng and entertaimnent areas(Patpong) within walking distance. There is a BTS station nearby which can bring me to further areas like MBK. Overall, the Hotel is good to stay and I have make the right choice for this trip to Bangkok.

Hotel Services with a warm heart and great smile.”
My every visit to Bangkok I will always stay Narai Hotel, and I didn't realised that there was a ram by the lobby outside which made very easy access and convenience for my mother's wheel chair. This is my first time taking my mother there and she enjoyed vry much her stayed there as she felt the warm of home and sweet smiling and caring from the hotel staffs. During our morning breakfast the cafe staffs were so helpful to make way for my mother wheel chair and also help us to our table. They were paying so much attention on us to ensure that they provide their best services to our convenience. They gave us a high floor rooms which let us have an over see of the whole Silom town. My mum like her room and she always enjoyed stayin in room to watch the in-house movie. I brought my maid along to take care of my mother and she is so pleased and happy with this trip. My mother is defintely looking for another trip in Dec. I would like to thanks Narai Hotel for their good services rendered to us and we have a most enjoyable and memorable stay with you all.

Very much improved hotel”
I have stayed at Narai many times over many years and can say without doubt that recently the hotel has been improved immensely.. The 7th floor on which we stayed this last visit is better than many 5 star hotels. The room is fantastic value and at breakfast you get an exclusive spot in restaurant with a nice variety of extras. Breakfast is very nice anyway with a huge choice of foods. Better in our opinion than many hotels in Bangkok charging more than double the price. We arrived early but room was immediately available and the reception staff especially young ladies June and Kiwi were absolutely outstanding. Extremely welcoming and super efficient. The beds are extremely comfortable and the cleaning staff were top notch. Without doubt our next trip to Bangkok will be spent at Narai hotel unless of course the place is fully booked.

Surprisingly good!”
the narai is one of those hotels that has a "good feeling". from the moment we walked into the hotel until we left we were greeted by every member of staff we passed - including maids and maintenance workers. many members of staff are long-term employees. the barman at the pool (who also doubles as the lifeguard) had worked there for 24 years. the buffet lunch and dinner was a little on the expensive side - but the standard and variety of food more than compensated for it. it was not the normal hotel buffet of half a dozen plates of overcooked pasta and chips - there was a good selection of food being cooked by chefs in kitchens around the restaurant. the room itself was very clean and (on 11th floor) very quiet. in the lobby area there was an italian restaurant and a bar. the bar had live music in the evening - many of the hotel guests seemed to enjoy this. outside in silom road, there was the normal chaos of bangkok street life - massage parlours, tailors, jewellery shops, restaurants etc., with the normal street sellers appearing for the afternoon and evening. it appeared to be a safe area - and young women were walking around freely without being bothered by anyone. it is convenient for the skytrain - 5-10 minutes walk. we would certainly stay there again.

Good quality hotel at very competative price”
The Narai Hotel is an excellent standard hotel in a good location on Silom Road close to shops and restaurants etc and within easy walking distance of the river, where you can pick up a boat at Cenral Pier for a few bhats. The hotel has a very striking ground floor/reception area layout & design. The rooms are well appointed and fairly spacious. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The pool is not huge but this is normal for most city hotels. All in all this is an exceptional value hotel and I would recommend it anyone visiting Bangkok.

The Narai”
The Narai is a nice hotel in the Silom area within a short walk to Sky Train. Our standard room was nice, and the Agoda price was about half the listed price ... thank you Agoda! The breakfast buffet was probably better than any we experienced during our 6 weeks in SE Asia. The dinner buffet was also good but quite pricey compared to restaurant food available a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we return to Bangkok.

Convenient location with big rooms”
The hotel is big but somewhat old already which may have seen its glory days before. However, even if the building is old, we were given a standard room which is big and clean. The only thing I did not like is the smell in the entrance at the hotel lobby which might have come from one of the open restaurants inside the lobby. The hotel is conveniently located along Silom Road and accessible to taxis which are metered. Sometimes, along Silom Road, Tuk tuks offer their vehicles but on contracted price which is not good - better take taxis with meters, it's cheaper to take a taxi. The taxi cost only about 50 Baht from Narai hotel to Pratunam market/Baiyoke Sky Restaurant and about 80 Baht from Narai to MBK mall. One thing I like about the hotel is their breakfast schedule which starts from 5:00am to 10:00am which is good for those who have early morning schedules. The food selection for free buffet breakfast is wide and good for a variety of appetites. The hotel is also somewhat near from Suvarnabuhmi Airport, only about 30-45mins by taxi and cost about Baht.

Good, dependable, standard hotel”
The Narai Hotel in the Silom area is about a 10-15 minute from the Skytrain, but no problem to catch a taxi on Silom Street. It is also an easy walk to the night life and Patpong night market. The aging hotel building was in its prime back in the 70's so the bathroooms, TV sets, swimming pool, and decor could use an update; however, the rooms are still in good shape, clean, and maintained. Compared to the 5 star hotels in the area (which I have stayed in) Narai Hotel's room service and housekeeping requests are a lot faster in responding at the than other hotels. The staff is friendly and helpful since they are an older group than the young, ting-tone type with poor training found at many hotels in BKK. Good Value

Great value in good location”
I have been staying at the Narai on a regular basis over many years. True, there are more new and dazzling hotels in Bangkok. But for what you get for your money and its central location on Silom Road it is hard to beat. Staff are always friendly and obliging and the buffet breakfast is very good. However, the taste of the coffee leaves something to be desired. It hasn't improved over the years I have been going there. The dining area has been recently refurbished. The pool is reasonably large although can get crowded with kids in late aftenoon when day tours return. Use it in the mornings. The room have been gradually refurbished over the last few years although on a previous visit I was given an old style one. Wifi is free. If you want a comfortable hotel at an afordable price you can't beat it. Skytrain is a 10 minute walk from hotel. If you want a reasonable quality hotel at a bargain price this is the place to go.

Narai Hotel”
Narai Hotel is on Silom Rd, and five minutes' walk will take you to the markets that run every night. It's convenient for the skytrain - about 15 minutes' walk, or 37 - 40 Baht by taxi. If you take a taxi - get one on the street, but don't get one from the bootleggers around the hotel entrance or you'll pay more than you need to. Even the rooms in the hotel contain signs warning about these taxi guys and distancing the hotel from them. The rooms are clea, the water is hot, and the breakfasts are good. If you're into bacon and eggs, it's there, and if you prefer fruit juice and a salad, that's there too. It's a good place with friendly staff, and I'd recommend it on this basis and on it's location.

Narai was an Excellent Suggestion by Agoda”
Despite opting out of a room upgrade suggested by Agoda for a nominal fee, I received a room upgrade at the front desk when I arrived for check-in at no cost so my stay was off to a great start. The room was clean and modern and most importantly the bed was large, soft, and had four large pillows. The staff was courteous and quick; I had an issue with the electricity in my room which was totally my fault but they had maintenance in my room in less than two minutes. I didn't eat at any of restaurants within the hotel or the breakfast for that matter but I did browse displayed menus of a few of the restuarants in the lobby and everything looked fresh and contemporary. I like to eat at local joints and found a street market a few blocks away that was opened quite earlier so I was able to pick up everything I needed on my first morning and ended up eating breakfast there every morning as well. The hotel is central to several markets and hot spots that I liked to visit and their train system (BTS) is a short walk away and that can get you pretty much anywhere in Bangkok. I enjoyed my stay at Narai so much that when I was experiencing an issue with my bed in the apartment I moved into, my first thought was to spend a few nights Narai until I got all the problems taken care of.

A fine hotel, all things considered”
the narai hotel is in a fine part of town -- it's close to the airtrain, close to many nightlife options, and it's always easy to get a taxi on silom st... the building the hotel is housed in is quite old, but was obviously well maintained, and our room was comfortably furnished. the showers were hot, the gym was excellent, internet service (via lan cable) was free and fast, and even room service was cheap. i have nothing negative to say, save for the fact that the buffet is too expensive. i would certainly stay at the narai again. in fact, i plan on it.

Short stay in Narai Bangkok”
I am happy with the service given by the staff of Narai hotel, I enjoy my quiet stay and convenience for shopping around the bangkok city, which all the shopping area is near by the hotel. The hotel staff is also very helpful to allow me to check my email at the hotel reception and I find that the staff is well train with well manner. Also the taxi service given for guess is good and driver is polite and speak good english. I would say Narai hotel in bangkok is one of the best hotel for any foreign visitor with a 5 star status. Thanks. Regards. Ricky Yong.

Narai Hotel ”
Narai Hotel may look very average on the outside but the inside of the hotel is no less than a five star. Having street shopping all over Silom road and Suan lum night bazaar a stone throw away adds to the advantage of this neat and clean property. Room Service rates and extensive breakfast menu ads to the appeal of the hotel. The Thai green chicken curry is a must have if you intend on eating in. The disadvantage of the location is that as you move towards Patpong, you will be harassed by con men and maybe tricked into going for the super annoying Ping Pong/Tiger etc show. Which is just ridiculous (not that we ever went, but were asked only about three hundred and forty seven times. The staff is friendly but a little too frank.

Good old Narai”
We live in Thailand , and each time we have to go to Bangkok for some reason , we are looking forward to the luxurious breakfast offered by Narai. The restaurant is renovated completely , cosy and inviting . The rooms are clean . The doors are a bit noisy when slammed . The swimming pool is rather small , but big enough really and clean . Narai is located on Silom Road , at walking distance from Patpong Market . Metro and Skyline about 10 minutes walk .

narai on silom ”
The Narai Hotel on silom road is ideally situated in what I find the best part of Bangkok. The lobby is grand without being pompous, and the front desk staff was generally receptive to my needs especially with my Agoda booking. The breakfast was more than sufficient and tasty as well. The pool was an oasis in this metropolis, one of the largest I've seen in Bangkok. The room was clean and comfortable with all amenities, and even windows that open. All in all a fine hotel and good value.

Classy Hotel At A Competitive Rate”
When I am in Bangkok I always stay at the Narai and have never been disappointed yet - The rooms are quite large and comfortable, and always spotless. I like it that you can choose a smoking room (which is unfortunately becoming less possible around the globe), and of course, the position in central Bangkok is terrific - easy walking distance to the Silom shopping/entertainment area. The staff are great and the taxi drivers outside are some of the best around. I would recommend including the breakfast which will set you up nicely for the day.

Great Value and Service”
the hotel price was great value for money. during this trip to thailand, i stayed at a number of hotels in bkk, and i would rate the nairi right up there in the top 2 hotels. as an example, i stayed at the armari atrium, the prince palace, the silom city hotel, the federal hotel to name a few. i stayed at another hotel nearby in silom which was also rated as a 4 star hotel, but the narai was five times better than that hotel. the narai is good value for money, the rooms are clean with good decor. and you have free access to the internet in addition to having a number of english movie channels available for entertainment for those lazy days. the pool is well maintained and the food available from the pool area is very cheap and tasty. the food from the italian restaurant is tasty and well priced. finally, the breakfast selection is one of the best i've seen.

g."Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
have used Agoda in many hotel visits with no problems with bookings or our Thailand visa credit card. Narai meals are superb but their new pricing is rather high, and the offerings are less than prior years. With patunam shopping we find many eating areas available so no loss. Of the other hotel selections we have tried, Narai has been our best choice. As an expat living in chiang mai we do come to Bangkok frequently, and continue to use Narai as our hotel of choice.
