Great location and clean hotel”

location, separate, bathrooms for girls and guys

I only stayed for 1 night in Woodduck Boomerang Sydney Backpackers but I instantly liked the location and the fact that it was pretty good kept and clean. Customer service was very helpful. I liked the fact that there was a separate bathroom for girls and guys. Kitchen and tv room looked good though I didn't use them. I would really recommend this hostel and I would have stayed there much longer than 1 night if it were possible.

Nice hostel but a bit cramped”

good location, friendly staff, reasonably clean

I had a nice stay at Nate's. The hostel's location is quite good, it was easy to walk everywhere. the hostel staff was friendly and even the long termers were quite open and nice. The rooms are all a bit cramped and the carpet floor just smells even though the rest of the building is cleaned every day. I preferred the upper bunk just because of the smell of the carpet. i would still recommend the hostel though!

Good price for the location

Stayed a couple of nights while seeing the sights around Sydney. Room was very small (stayed in a double) but much cheaper then elsewhere and did have a fan, tv and fridge which was useful. You can walk to the centre in about 15 mins and kings cross in about 10 mins so no need to use public transport all of the time. Closest station is kings cross which you can get to from the airport. A lot of young people stay here so it can get a bit noisy early morning when they're returning from the clubs!

so i stated here before and left for similar reason but i rhought it partly todo with it being busy . HOSTEL is filthy, clearly no one checks on dorms or cleaners or control on people on dorms with tidyness or cleanlyness. i know it hard.clean whwn clutter no i dontnfeel any authroity is watching over this hostel and left to fester . Big.issue: staff dont enforce sikence or try to past 10 pm when people.sleeping .. loads.noise past 12 am and no sign of staff trying monitor or manage people in dorms...total shambulls. I know it a hostel but this by far the lower end .. i dont reccomed this hostel for peaceful sleep or.tidy clean rooms as it always festering mess and i dont kbow what cleaners so other than change bed sheets as doesnt show anything been clean in months. i came in april ..month later this cheapest for weekend and ithink place as festered morw than before alot worse then month ago... . room 9 is feating pit of food filth cloths and mess ..how there arent rats in room is mircle ....AND ROOM 9 HAS STAFF IN ROOM WHICH EXPECT SOMENKIND LESS MESS. ALL ROOMS SEEM TONSMELL LACK STORAGE has long working tenants and it out of control ...last two days in sdyney i remeber the nasty hostel and how what anshane this hostel is andnrun there.is cheap for value andnthere cheao in every word ofnit meaning.mmit this place ...i not comingnback ...i feel dirty after stayingnhere

Location ok, all else not. More hassle than its worth”

We booked an all girls shared room but had to move at the middle of the night because one girl had a male visitor past midnight and the whole room could hear everything that was going on. (Didn't think it wise to confront given we didn't know how the guy might react and if drunk) The reception is only open during certain office hours so there was no staff to talk to (no one monitoring so no real security), so we grabbed our valuables and walked out in our sleepwear to a nearby hostel. More expensive but totally worth it for the decency. We had to hide out in the bathroom while looking for a place to go to because the common areas had closed doors (TV room and kitchen). There were also people who seemed to be standing guard at a rooms at 2am when we went out so we wondered if something else was going on inside. The location of the hostel itself was ok, a 15-20 min walk to CBD and nearby kings cross. The place itself though is small and tight. Beware bringing large/heavy luggage since you need to haul it up yourself 4 flights of stairs (reception on 2F, rooms on 4F). The girl who checked us in was nice and let my friend check in early when she arrived the next day. However, I noticed the girl who changed the sheets of one of the vacated beds had a really bad cold and kept sneezing on the bed, not sure how hygienic that is. The showers are ok w warm water and didn't seem to be crowded though was winter. Only went in the kitchen once, never got the free breakfast--it was small.and crowded with long timers. The table is only good for 6 comfortably, and all the refs and shelves were packed with people's food. There is a TV room though it had a smell so preferred not to use. Then they had noticed that the power was going to be out for a night and the morning after --which coincided with the day I was supposed to leave and was major hassle in terms of how I would pack and shower the next day. The sex in the room was really the last straw. I've stayed in diff hostels tra

Dirty and don't have 24 hours receptionist”

no comment

When I arrived at the Boomerang Backpackers on Monday 10/8/13 around 2.30pm, there was nobody at the counter. That's when I noticed there was this notice stating that reception counter only available in the morning and evening. So, I have no choice but to carry all my luggages to the Thai restaurant next door to have my lunch. After I checked in, I made my way to the room (fyi, my room was a twin bedroom) .Once I opened the door, I noticed the window was opened. Also, the rubbish bin was not cleared. Not to mentioned that there were left over coca-cola cups in the fridge. Everything was in a mess, even the bedsheet has hair and dust on it. I checked out the next day despite the fact that I had already booked for another 2 more nights. Never gona choose this place anymore.

location, price, free breakfirst

This youth hostel, located in a very convenient location offers a basic comfort with low price. The room was large but very messy and not very clean, same for the rest of the building. The lounge was very small, not well equiped and again very very messy. No lift, and a lot of stairs in the building so better to have a good rest before coming. This youth hostel is definitly cheap and well located but thats all. Good for short stay but not much to expect.
