Best Hotels near the Beach in Beachfront

"This was a great stay. We stayed with our two young children and the staff treated them very well. All that said, some of the amenities (especially breakfast) was disappointing. Coffee was very bad and food selection for breakfast is not representative of a four star establishment. There seems to be a trend in Myanmar that, as long as you're 'good enough' of an establishment, you somehow get 4-5 stars, when anywhere else in the world it would be 3-4 stars. But, hey, if you go to Ngwe Saung, and you have the $ to spend, this is the best place to stay. I've tried to be honest, clear, and accurate in this review. Like I said, a good place to go...we'll probably be back. Is it the best or worthy of the 5* rating? No. "

" My wife and I traveled from Yangon to Ngwe Saung Beach for a four day personal retreat. We live in and travel extensively in Asia and spend many more days in a hotel than at home. Since we travel so often we generally choose mid-range properties but sometimes stay in 5 star or even 2 star hotels. We read the Reviews of hotels to get a sense about the place we are going to stay. Eskala had good reviews, but honestly, this property was one of the best I have stayed at in years. The staff was well trained and it is evident that the management was investing in staff training and more importantly in maintenance and upkeep of the facility. We walked the beach every day and this one had the best maintained beach of all of the beachfront properties in this stretch of beach. We had a small problem with the A/C one evening but the staff immediately worked to resolve the issue. Our respect to Ya Min who had the title of Bellboy but demonstrated excellent management skills in assisting in this. Our stay was in September, Rainy Season, and we expected the food service to be decreased but we found the Food to be excellent. More 5 star than 4 star. Htun Htun Oo and staff did an exemplary Job even though the hotel was not full. Food presentation and timing was first class and the portions were generous. We were also impressed with the Front desk manager Nao Nao Hnin Wai who checked us in and out and assisted us as we were interested in local attractions. The Pool was exceptionally large for a 60 unit property and very well maintained. Overall, the stay exceeded our expectations. Would recommend this property to anyone traveling to this beach. "

"We stayed 3 nights at the end of january in the beach view loft room. Great option for budget travelers. Room was spacious with air conditioning, hot water, fridge and king sized bed. Excellent facilities including a beautiful pool and lots of nice lounge chairs. The beach was clean, quiet and even had a life guard. The staff and service were great, received the same treatment as Yacht Club guests as they are through the same hotel. The best part was the huge tasty buffet breakfast. Highly recommend. They also have a restaurant called North Point a little on the far side of the resort, it seemed to not be well advertised but was delicious and much more affordable than their main restaurant. They will even drive you there in a golf cart."

"I stayed here on a weekend get away while working in Myanmar. It is a beautiful beach and the facilities are wonderful. It is very different than most areas in Myanmar and is not yet overwhelmed with tourists. "

"Beautiful Hotel on the beach. We had an executive room with sea view, which was very large and also very clean. The pool is great, big enough to swim a few kilometers. The beach is very clean and completely empty. The area around is pretty quiet as the hotel is not directly in the village but a little bit up north. The breakfast is delicious. When there are enough guests, they will provide a buffet with western and asian breakfast. Staff is very nice and helpful but communication is not easy as they do not really speak english. But you can always communicate somehow. There are a lot of mosquitos, I would recommend to bring a mosquito net with you as it is not provided by the hotel. We stayed for 1 week and it was all in all a great, very relaxing vacation, which I would definitely recommend to anyone!"

"Beach and clear water are better than expected. Room is very clean. Staff are the best we have seen not only in Ngwe Saung but also all the hotels in Myanmar. The only thing is the hotel is at the southern most inNgwe Saung and far from the main village. But it’s good for the people who prefer a quiet place. "

"We had a beachfront bungalow which was absolutely perfect. The beach wonderful and practically deserted. The room was spacious even with 2 extra beds for the kids. The food in the restaurant was very good, too. The breakfasts were ok - a limited choice but everything fresh and tasty. The dinners (we ate there twice) were a real feast - plenty of food, best quality and top class service. The staff in the hotel was just outstanding: the rooms cleaned twice a day, housekeeping coming in the evening to spray the rooms with anti-mosquito and bring some evening treat (a fruit or a cake), restaurant staff very well trained and professional, everybody extremely helpful and always smiling. Thank you very much - we had a truly wonderful stay!"

"The hotel is at the far end of the beach. This means it is a little bit far from town and other hotels, but it also means that it is nice and quiet and you get the beach to yourself. The hotel staff were very accommodating and help our large family figure out a way to stay in one room together. The food was fine and inexpensive. Overall a great place!"
