Alt Hotel Nana by UHG (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"Me and my wife went on a business trip to Bangkok so we wanted to stay somewhere quiet but not to far away from the centre, the location of the Alt hotel was just perfect, close to the main road and BTS (15 minutes) but situated at the quiet end of the Soi 4. I wasn't to sure abut the pictures in Agoda as I've had bad experience before with other hotels as some of them don't keep the pictures up to date but was surprised when I saw the quality and the cleanliness of the hotel, everything is newly built including the pool and the gym.....WAO. The staff members were as helpful as they can get and were willing to help any time of the day or night, a shuttle service to the main road which operates till late night is an added bonus. There is a taxi rank near to the hotel which works with the hotel and fares are quite reasonable, just ask at the reception. AND FINALLY THE PRICE: For what we got for the price we paid....just FABULOUS. Just one request to the management...please keep up the good work and the standard as many hotels I've seen which started well but gradually went below standard, please don't let that happen to this brilliant hotel of yours. WILL DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY COME BACK. "

ibis Styles Bangkok Sukhumvit Phra Khanong (SHA Extra Plus)
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"We had a pleasant stay at Ibis Styles Hotel. So far this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Bangkok. They do provide shuttle service to BTS station (or you may walk to the BTS station, just a 5-mins walking distance). Friendly staff and I would give 5 stars for the cleanliness. But I would recommend first-timer to stay in Pratunam which would be more convenient. For those who is looking for hotel accommodation in Sukhumvit, this is definitely a best choice for you. "

BelAire Bangkok Sukhumvit (SHA Extra Plus)
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"BelAire is great hotel - value for money, good location, easy access to anywhere via MRT/BTS (Skytrain) and friendly and helpful staff. My wife & I moved from another hotel in Bangkok where I attended a business conference to the BelAire Hotel on a Sunday. On our arrival at the hotel by cab, I ran out of small notes to pay the cab driver. The reception staff immediately helped me get the notes changed, small but helpful gesture which tells a lot about the attentiveness and care about a hotel towards their guests. The room was comfortable, good sized and had free wifi as well as amenities such as safe deposit box, hair dryer, etc. Buffet breakfast was simply great with ample spread of fusion dishes - Western & Oriental. Most importantly, the staff at the coffeehouse, especially Mr Thong and Mr Robert, were very friendly and helpful. Besides this the reception staff - particularly a gentleman (sorry I didn't get his name) who was on duty at night was particularly helpful. When we asked whether to take a cab to Patpong for night shopping, he gently suggested we take the BTS instead and showed us on a map how to. Now, we appreciate this very much because cabs in Bangkok do not always use the meter, especially if you are a tourist! Tuk-tuks too are tricky cos they will always insist to take you to a shopping outlet (where they get commissions) on route to your destination. If you do not agree they can charge you exorbitant amounts - 200 Bhts for a short distance! Beware! Also read up on the scams in Bangkok - there are many! My wife and I got duped by a few smooth talking ordinary looking locals who work in teams to redirect you yo their associated gemstone shops or tailors, seafood restaurants or boat rides. Be cautious! Anyway, the saving grace for us is that the BelAire hotel made our stay in Bangkok a very pleasant and enjoyable one - to the people at the BelAire, thank you all very much for that."

Travelodge Sukhumvit 11 (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"We booked this hotel on a whim, not planning to come to Bangkok until the day or so before. We found Travelodge, and it seemed too good to be true. There were no reviews but we figured why not give it a go. The price was fantastic, the rooms were beautiful (and huge), the staff were some of the nicest we've met on our two month trip, so kind and accommodating, location perfect, breakfast good, and everything was so new and clean. We had a truly great stop over in Bangkok thanks to the lovely staff here, they even gave us a room upgrade! It was fantastic, we didn't want to leave. The night we came was actually the first night opened for the hotel! It was less than a day old, very new and super super clean/modern and cozy. During breakfast the head of food and beverage came over and made sure everything was going well. He chatted to us for a while and was super kind, giving us some suggestions on places to visit as well. Overall 10/10 !!"

"… i'm traveling often to Thailand and Lancaster is absolutely my favorit hotel in Bangkok. great clean modern room. well organised breakfast loop and with great choice. even the restaurant is absolutely a very good tip at this hotel. pool which allows you to swim (not as so many other 5star hotels in Bangkok which are just made for stand in water). good connection to infrastructure as airport link and metro. The Park Nine Hotel Suvarnabhumi (SHA Extra Plus)
Suvarnabhumi Airport,Bangkok - View on map
"We had a 12 hr overnight connection between flights in BKK. Was not clear if our bags would be tagged thru to the final destination, or if we would have to collect our bags and re-check in, for the final international flight segment. As a result of the uncertainty, I only confirmed a hotel after flying the first segment, with the knowledge that bags were to be collected at BKK, with a checkin required the next morning. This hotel had good reviews (not a lot of reviews, but all were pretty good), and the location was 10 to 15 mins from the airport. Other choices were higher price, were further from the airport, or had reviews that suggested some problems. We were able to get to the hotel quickly, using the taxi lineup for "short trips" (so you don't have upset drivers). The Hotel was responsive, the room was magical, we ate dinner... which was delicious, concierge was helpful.... It was a delight. The only issues.... Is a relatively mid size patronage hotel, so is a little quiet & is situated on its own (there is local shops and street vendors nearby, but not like Central Bangkok). The wifi was not working in the evening, and it only began working in the morning... Getting taxis back to the airport was a little challenging for the staff, but they delivered (there are no taxis standing by nearby & bookings seem sketchy). But these issues were relatively minor in our books, given the great room, and great food... We got a good night's sleep, and we're able to get to/from the hotel with plenty of time to have dinner, and checkin in the morning, given our short 12 hours window between flights..... Very good! "

Pathumwan Princess Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Siam,Bangkok - View on map
"In Dec 2008, my girlfriend and I came back to one of my favorite hotels in Bangkok for the first time in several years. It still has one of the best locations for shopping (which my girlfriend loves) and definitely the best swimming pool in all of Bangkok (which attracts me). The rooms have also been upgraded and are nicer, though smaller than before. Thus, among the 4 & 5-star hotels in the city (which I have visited over 50 times in the last 20 years), it is still one of my favorites if not my favorite. However, the prices have also increased markedly and the food choice has been much more limited for several years. The food was always expensive by Bangkok standards, but the old restaurant/bar on the 1F used to have a quite nice variety of simple, normal Thai food at affordable prices. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Thus, when traveling alone, it no longer makes sense to stay here as there are many reasonable 2- or 3-star alternatives at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost. Nonetheless, if my girlfriend ever wants to go back to Bangkok or if I need stay in a higher class hotel for some reason, I am very likely to come back."

Banyan Tree Bangkok (SHA Plus+)
Sathorn,Bangkok - View on map
"Having looked at a number of 5 star hotels in Bangkok, we decided on this one as it seemed to have the most facilities for the best price. Loved the Oasis Retreat suite we booked with sweeping view so the city, romantic free standing bath with view, and window-seat. This is a really large hotel with many floors and a small but lovely rooftop pool (kudos to the staff-member who brought us juice, snacks and cold towels whilst we sunbathed). Great selection of restaurants, a knockout rooftop bar that makes for amazing cocktails and photos. Fantastic buffet breakfast in the morning with views of the rock formations and waterfalls downstairs. Really enjoyed our stay here, and the staff were impeccable. Would definitely stay again. "

FuramaXclusive Sathorn Hotel Bangkok (SHA Extra Plus)
Sathorn,Bangkok - View on map
"All told, a good, solid, run-of-the-mill, comfortable hotel. Soulless and characterless, as per most Bangkok hotels. Clean, but not top clean, e.g. upper shelves bedroom closet were dusty as they obviously had not been dusted in a long time (admittedly, the rest of the room was quite clean). No shower stall, just a bathtub with a curtain and it was impossible to shower without soaking the bathroom as the bathtub has, oddly, a water run-off that directs copious amounts of water to the floor. Staff are very friendly, helpful, and do everything to ensure guests have a nice stay. Breakfast is very good and incredible value for the money. Location is very good: central and a few minutes' walk to the BTS. However, it's stretching it to say this is a 4-star hotel. It is more like a 3.5. But that's true for most so-called "4 star" hotels in Bangkok. There is a huge jump from this to a 5-star."

Baiyoke Sky Hotel
Pratunam,Bangkok - View on map
"we stayed in the baiyoke sky hotel in bangkok for one night at the end of travelling around thailand for two weeks. it was a great experience. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was luxurious, the views amazing and the choice of restaurants/food was vast. if you are planning on doing some shopping in bangkok this hotel is ideally situated not far from the mbk shopping centre - great for some bargains. the baiyoke sky does a free shuttle service to and from the centre. one downside was the location - if you wanted to venture out to eat you had to get a taxi as there were no good restaurants within walking distance (although there was a few mcdonalds/kfcs for fast food convenience). having said that, getting a taxi/tuc tuc around the city is so cheap - around 100-150 bhat (£2-3) for a 20-30 minute taxi ride - you can't really complain! although the lobby and bedrooms were luxurious and modern there were some areas of the hotel that are in need of some renovation. for example, the pool/gym area - decorated a bit like a kids zone didn't quite fit in with the rest of the elegant decor. overall, i would recommend the baiyoke sky hotel although book online in advance for better deals as the rates on arrival is very expensive.
