Hotels near golf course in Samroiyod

"Right across the Soi from the beach, short cheap boat ride to Monkey Island, good food for reasonable prices, relaxed attitude and great for little kids. Nearby restaurants and massages on the beach are cheap and fair quality. Shallow water at the beach is good for kids to play, but not so great for real swimming. Beach had too much trash (seems to be everywhere in Thailand, not just here...I bring a grocery bag to fill every time I go, may not help, but cannot hurt and I can soothe my guilty conscience). Lots of small interesting shells on the beach. Resort is a ways from Hua Hin...800THB for a ride in the back of a pickup truck from train station...arrange through hotel for more comfort. We are in Thailand for 2 years, and will be visiting Dolphin Bay again. Not perfect, but great for the price and great for a 5 year old boy that loves to swim. I gave 5 stars for everything, though others may not consider it "superb" but rather quite good, but given the price, I think it warrants 5 across the board. I was going to give 4 stars for location due to being so far from transport...but that is a good thing as well, nice and quiet. "

"Loved that Terra Selisa is smaller hotel, as prefer quiet atmosphere. Greeted by very warm colors of outside of hotel, beautiful aesthetics, outdoor decor/plants, beautifully carved tables in dining area. Great how they had many books. Each room has own porch with sitting area-very nice. Comfortable place to be. Pool glistens with blue. Rated food 4 because only ate once-only there for short time & had snacks with me that wanted to finish from earlier in trip. Felt could not rate dining experience appropriately. Staff did come to my room to make sure I had eaten before they closed kitchen in evening-very thoughtful. Room clean, cute, just fine for me-hot shower, refrigerator, complimentary waters. Ocean view from hotel/beach very pretty-many options for local outings that hotel can help you arrange. Ocean water not as clear as expected-unsure why. Should have asked-maybe due to season. Jellyfish washed up on beach in morning so make sure you have safe sandals/water shoes while walking/swimming. Owner rode to Hua Hin train station with me and made sure I got ticket for right train. So appreciative of her doing this. Had mishap first night due to train coming in late at night, and my own fault. Would recommend arriving in daylight hours to make checkin time. Have Terra Selisa pick you up at PranBuri if you take the train from Bangkok. Or, Hua Hin is a larger station if you feel more comfortable. Liked that hotel was more rural. Went for peacefulness, activities, park, wetlands, caves, beach/ocean. This is not place for shopping but there were people selling lovely items by beach. Store is close by, places to buy necessities, snacks, and restaurants if interested in venturing out. Monkey Bar next door. Communicate with staff for your needs and help. All very friendly-more than willing to help you! Learn conversational Thai so can speak with those that may not speak English-this will make experience richer. I will always remember friendliness of people in Thailand."

"The hotel has a first class receptionist in the person of Diap, a 23 year old charming girl with afequate English to run the reception, bar and restaurant. The grounds are perfectly maintained and situated against a long empty beach which allows for romantic sundowning behind the mountain range on the West side. The bedroom was large and decorated with great taste. The large bed came supplied with a superb mattress and plenty pillows. In short a hotel to return to. One point to explain is to finding the place. The easiest access is to branch off Soi 25 coming from the Samroyiod beach and to follow the road for a few k. till the beach. The hotel is a few hundrd meters South on the beach which has a hard enough surface to allow for wheeled traffic."

"I spent 4 days there with my 70 years old parents and 2 boys (6 and 8). We felt at home immediately. We were happy to be far from the crowdy Hua Hin (45 minutes by car). The staff was welcoming, helpful, always smiling and calm. The small pool was surrounded by a beautiful garden full of flowers and birds. The rooms were nice and corresponded to what you can expect from a 3 star hotel. The doors and the wood furniture are very charming. We traveled around and went on a few very interesting expeditions in the Sam Roi Yot National Park, thanks to the owner who was highly sympathetic and helpful. We ate at the hotel every evening and tried almost everything on the menu. Everything was delicious and adapted to western mouths unused to spicy food. The beach was less than 5 minutes by walk from the hotel. The beauty of the Dolphin bay was worth the trip, especially at sunset. Don't expect to find clean white sand there but the landscape is so amazing that it really doesn't matter. We will go back for sure. "

"I stayed in one of the cheaper rooms and it felt like it hadn't been updated in a long time. Although I did see some of the larger rooms and they were a lot more modern inside. My bed was two twin beds pushed together and there was a distinct lack of outlets for charging anything. No desk to work from either. But there was a fridge, cold air con, and hot water which is really all you need. Water and breakfast were provided in the price of the room and it is possible to rent a scooter from here so you can get around. The staff are very friendly. The owners are German and Thai. The husband was very friendly and full of information about the National Park. The wife was very helpful in booking a bus to Bangkok. There is a restaurant on site and a lot of other food options around. The beach is a few metres away from the entrance but you'll be facing the wrong way for sunsets, so get up early and catch a lovely sunrise. My advice is to check out how to get here. I came from Surat Thani and the nearest a bus got was Samroiyod, 45mins away. It dropped me there at 2am and I had to hitchike the next day as there are no Grabs or Taxis that will take you to the resort. A lot easier to come from Bangkok in a minibus that will drop you at the door at a reasonable hour of the day. I would recommend this place as a good place to stay. I would stay again if I was returning to the area."

"Our visit couldn't have been anything better. Khun Noi and her husband Mr. Soni took so much care of us that we didn't feel we are at a hotel. She is an excellent cook and prepared delicious and fresh Indian and Thai foods exactly as per our choice. My son became great friend with her daughter and we plan to go there again next month.Inspite of being high season with many customers she made sure that everybody is looked after well and with a smile. The location of the hotel is right in the middle and near to all facilities like ATM, convenience stores, restaurants, bars, cafe etc. The beach is quite clean in this part so one can enjoy swimming or just lazing around. The rooms are spacious and have all the required amenities. AC is excellent (which is usually one of the most irritating factors in many hotels) so you can have a good night's sleep. Bathrooms are also ok. We had been to this area several times but never experienced such warmth and hospitality so it is perhaps the best visit ever. Will highly recommend for all travelers both couples and with children and it is more than value for money. "
