Lovely hotel with big rooms and prompt service”

we enjoyed our stay at new york hotel. we found the room spacious and comfortable. the ceiling is high and we had a beautiful view of johor bahru city from our hotel window. the restaurant on the ground floor serves fine food at affordable prices. both local food and western cuisine were available. we also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. when a bedside lamp was found blown, the staff replaced it promptly. the restaurant manager coped well with stress when it was crowded and we needed fast service.

Homely hotel in a good location”

New York hotel in Johor Bahru is conveniently located close to Singapore border. This makes the hotel a great hotel for business travelers or family going on vacation to Singapore but would prefer to stay in Malaysia. The rooms have recently been refurbished and its more modern and a more spacious feel. Amenities are plenty which includes an indoor swimming pool, massage center, hair salon and sundry shop which also has currency exchange if you need. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and for those who drive, the hotel offers plenty of parking.

Nice hotel with good serivce”

If you want to go for a short getaway and don't want to spend so much and yet still want the comfortable and nice facilities, New York Hotel is the place that you really can have it all. The outside may not be your liking but when you enter the room is different and it will make your day to be a good one. I will come back for more to New York Hotel when the next visit to Johor Bahru. One thing need to be improve is the lift, it slightly slow. Overall is ok.

Affordable & Incredible”

Was upgraded to a deluxe superior room on the 22nd Floor because of unavailability of room that was booked at no extra cost with compliments from the hotel. The room was on the top most floor of the hotel, was big and spacious and had a splendid aerial view of Johor Bahru at night with lights sprawled below. Check-in and check out was wonderful. Staff friendly and courteous. Breakfast was superb with a wide selection of choices. Location of hotel strategic and there are a many eateries and 24 hour 'makan' shops around the hotel. There is a fantastic Thai restaurant offering good chinese dishes - halal near the hotel. The newly refurbished Pelangi Mall is just a walking distance away. The only complaint was the TV reception and their channels. The Singapore transmission was misty and not too clear. Not much TV channels to choose from. Should have more channels. Had a wonderful and memorable stay.

Lovely hotel and great location”

Firstly we noticed is that there were lots of parking bays which made it easy for us to find a parking space. The counter staff were efficient and friendly when we checked in and within minutes we were given our room numbers. We told them that we were first timers to Johor Bharu and asked for some directions to shopping malls and food courts center. The counter staff was very helpful by giving us few shopping malls within the vicinity and where to eat. I am very pleased with New York Hotel and will not hesitate to recommend to any of my friends who may want to visit Johor Bahru in future.

Nice Hotel with Good Price”

My first time staying over here and attracted me since then Very strategic location with lots of eateries around and just few minutes away from the checkpoint. The moment you exit custom checkpoint then you'll be able to reach your hotel in less than 5 minutes Staff extremely helpful and friendly regardless of the request given Just renovated not long so room everything is very nice and clean except for the toilet (might need some upgrade) Will definitely recommend this hotel to business travellers travelling to Singapore while staying in Johor Bahru

Big room with beautiful decorations”

the location is easy access by car,bus and taxi.this hotel is very near plaza pelangi and ksl.lobby is so so but the room is superb.the room is quite big for 2 people and beautiful design and decorations like sofa and working table.the bathroom is nice and with bathtub.breakfast is excellent and many choices.this hotel is one of the best in johor bahru and this is just 3 stars hotel but look like 4 stars hotel.but the swimming pool is indoor,cold and does not look clear.but gym and sauna is basic but it is good enough.

Accomodation at New York Hotel - Johor Bahru”

It is definitely value for money. Never did we expect to get such a big room at such low rate. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. We will definitely go back to the same hotel during our next short trip to Johor Bahru. However the hotel may wish to look at the speed of service at the front reception counter. During festive period, the waiting time to check in was rather long despite all counters were in operations.

nice view, spacious room”

nice view as we got 21st floor. so basically we could see the whole johor bahru city from our room. very spacious. all interior seems new and clean though the the building looks old. food was average. but the staff and the fnb manager were very friendly.

New York New York”

We booked this hotel, because it is close to the bus station where the bus from Singapore arrives. We went to Johor Bahru for a visum extension and this hotel is also in the centre of the city so close to the Indonesian ambassy. Hotel New York is very big and has enough to offer. Unfortunaly we stayed to short to make use of the swimmingpool (indoor) or gym, but we will do that the next time we visit Johor Bahru and stay at the New York hotel.

Great Location with nice furnished rooms”

having stayed in about 3 other hotels in jb city, i must say new york hotel is really best so far. rooms are nicely decorated, clean and cosy. bed is nice. breakfast buffet spread is quite good with local cuisine as well as western. previous hotels i stayed merely had just rice and noodles for breakfast. pricing is quite affordable for the standard. location is good as it is really near to ksl city mall and not too far off city square. parking is complimentary up to 2 parking tickets per room at least for my triple delux room, not certain for the others.

Great location and spacious room”

New York Hotel is located near the shopping center and lots of eatery just in precinct. Nightlife can also be found just near the corner where the hotel is situated. Getting a room at high floor will give you a good view of the Johor Bahru city. The room is big and stay there is comfortable. Quite a value for money choice.

Lovely business hotel”

after the recent renovations, new york hotel is surely a must stay for budget couple travelers looking for a decent hotel to stay for a couple of nights out in johor. reception service was so-so, they do not have as much initiative to provide service (additional information) to hotel patrons (compared to our last visit to jb where we stayed in grand bluewave hotel), but it wasn't bad too. room was clean and spacious, hot water was readily available in the showers (a pleasant surprise). toothpaste was not provided though, and the hotel room had no safe so be sure to keep your belongings safe. breakfast was a delicate spread of malaysia food fare (nasi lemak and mee goreng) and american breakfast delights. too bad the partner and i went down for breakfast half an hour before breakfast was about to end. most of the food had been polished off by then.

Great value for money”

The hotel is located very near to the causeway, right in the downtown of Johor Bahru. There are many eateries along the road outside of the hotel. Room wise, it has been refurbished from my previous stay. All in good, clean working condition.

though the grand paragon's breakfast was better than the ones in new york hotel, but comparing the front office services, it was terrible. waited almost 2 hours for a room when we were told that the earlier guest has checkout, plus the face of a especially plump staff was arrogant and terrible attitude.kudos to new york staffs, you were great! thank you!!! i would never ask my friends to come to grand paragon to stay, i would rather go to ksl resort or ny hotel,. so please go to new york. rooms spacious, services good.!! thank you!

Very good”

Overall, i am quiet satisfied with the facilities in New York Hotel Johor Bahru. Except that twice we could not enter our room because the card were not working. We have to get back to the reception to get it activated.

Large Room, Comfort Beds”

I stayed at New York Hotel with my wife and son (7). We like the room because it was a spacious one with 2 twin Queen Size Beds. Our room have a large window with City View. The price was also affordable. The staff were friendly. The minus of this hotel that the location of pool and its design was poor and looks so old style. You can not deny the feeling of staying at an old hotel which needs maintenance. The breakfast (incl.in price) was fine and the location was okay. The other minus we experienced at Johor Bahru was with Taxi Drivers. Almost all taxi drivers we had, were not polite and tend to rob you (no changes, act the meter was broken, or drove you far around even the actual distance was short. The New York Hotel was fine and affordable.

Spacious room with really nice internal deco”

I booked two rooms for me and my family and both rooms was very spacious and decorated with nice wall papers. My wife and children were very impressed with both the rooms. They said next time if we were to visit Johor Bahru again, they would like to stay there again. The breakfast wasn't fantastic but good. The close vicinity to KSL shopping centre was convenient. It made our short one night stay memorable!
