Excellent Location”

There is no argument that Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour is in a really good location. For those who travel with rented vehicles like me, the parking is $50 a day. Considering that parking is crazily priced everywhere in central Sydney, the price is reasonable. The Australian Maritime Museum is just 5 mins walk away, followed by the zoo, aquarium and Mdm Tussaud's. I walked to Sydney Tower eye in about 10 mins. Sydney fish market is not too far away too. There's a shopping centre just next to the hotel. Just cross a small bridge. Very comfortable 5 mins walk. I tried to get a family room which was 2 double beds but it was still very small. I felt a little claustrophobic in the room. If you do have 4 people in the room, with the luggage and all there's hardly space to walk. If you are a larger family than 4 and thinking of secretly squeezing more people in, I'd strongly advise against it. The amenities were ok. Respectable. Nothing to shout about. Shampoo and all were ok, but no toothbrush provided. Bring your own. Fridge is filled so there's limited space for your own drinks. There is a small minimart just across the street that sells basic necessities which opens until late into the evening. For the price paid, consider the location and the cleanliness of the room. The comfort of the bedsheets, bed and all. The decoration is minimal and it looked 3 star rather than 4. I would recommend staying at the hotel if you are cutting transport costs. Hotel staff are also very friendly. I paid for the buffet breakfast because kids can eat free. I'd say the hotel is family-friendly.

Spectacular views and very helpful staff.”

Central Sydney at peak season means it is very challenging to get great accommodation and service at a reasonable cost. In these circumstances the Novotel performed exceptionally well. The views over Darling Harbour would be very difficult to beat and the location offers the very best opportunity to explore Darling Harbour. The rooms are perhaps a little past their best and the facilities are definitely 4 rather than 5 star - but the value for money is very good for central Sydney. The general manager went out of his way to help with a couple of extra touches which made our stay very special - such commitment to customer service is rare and is an attitude which was shown by all the staff we met. Very highly recommended.

We loved staying at Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour Hotel. Excellent hotel inside out. The view of Darling Harbour was amazing if you booked room with the sea view. The only problem is lack of free Car Park and it costs $48 per day. Still highly recommended!

Stayed for 3 nights only. The Novotel on Darling Harbour is ideally located as it is close to the CDB and local Darling Harbour attractions. Facilities are good but what you would expect with a hotel of this price. Room was nice and clean, but did not offer anything special in way of features or appearance.

Highly suitable for business and leisure”

Excellent! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were well laid out, large, comfy beds and there was an amazing view of Darling Harbour. Check in and Check out were easy, buffet breakfast was great - there were a good variety of food. Excellent location - 15 mins from airport, right in the heart of Darling Harbour, close to shops and amenities. Excellent restaurants nearby however restaurant and pub in hotel is pretty good as well. Good business centre for those on business - computers, printer and fast internet available.

Satisfaction”

We really enjoyed our weekend away in Sydney at the Novotel Darling Harbour. We wanted somewhere close to Star City as we had tickets for Matilda. Novotel was the perfect location for this and for exploring the sights of Sydney.

Couldn't ask for a better location ”

My stay at this hotel was magnificent...being that it was my first time in Australia the location of this hotel could not get any better! It's literally right on the Darling Harbour where all the shops, restaurants, food court etc are. The light rail (tram,trolley) is literally right down the stairs and it can take you throughout the city. The staff also even gave us a complimentary upgrade due to our early arrival and no available rooms in our category. The staff was super helpful at all times and the views from our room was just spectacular! I will recommend this establishment a thousand times over. The only minor complaint that I had was the disappointing pool, but it was quickly pacified as we took a short train ride to Bondi Beach which was amazing! This hotel is probably one of the best I have ever stayed in and if I ever do make It back to Australia it will be the only place I stay!

excellent hotel - great location”

we have stayed at this hotel three times now and have really enjoyed staying here. it is perfectly located in darling harbour as it is a short walk to many attractions, pyrmont ferry terminal, skycity (casino) and the cbd. the buffet breakfast is magnificent, with "kids eat free" it is definately exceptional value for money when travelling with children. the rooms are well appointed and the beds are extremely comfortable. we stayed in a harbour view room on the sixth floor and the view of the harbour and the city was wonderful.

Amazing service!! ”

We were supposed to be at Hamilton for our wedding anniversary, however due to bad weather we had to stayed in Sydney last minute. Cathy at the check-in table welcomed us at Novotel and really leave a great impression on me after what we have been through (cancelling our trip to Hamilton after 5 hours flying from syd-hamil then hamil-syd). Cathy was a great listener, very understanding and made us feel so special. Her kindness and professionalism made our day so we can move on from Hamilton and truely enjoy Sydney instead!! Thanks to Cathy and the Novotel team for giving us such a personal experience by writing us a congratulation card and special treats. We had a great time at Novotel and will definitely come back!!

We found this hotel to forfil all our requirements. It's proximity to everything, the pleasant and agreeable staff. When next we visit Sydney we will definitely being staying at the Novetel Darling Harbour and will happily recommend to anyone. We had an amazing stay at the novotel. Our room had a beautiful view of the harbour for a small upgrade fee. We were able to see the fireworks which went off regularly on the harbour. The staff were incredibly helpful, particularly Christopher on the hotel reception desk and James on the concierge desk. Nothing was too much trouble. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and well worth the money, an excellent variety of food. The location on the harbour was also perfect for the local attractions, shopping and sightseeing. It was just a 10 minute walk to the local train station and right next to the tram station. We were very sad to leave.

Great views and location”

We had a lovely two night stay at the Novotel. Our room had a fantastic view of Darling Harbour. The Novotel is in a great position walking distance to nice cafes, restaurants, shops and the Aquarium. Its also opposite the Convention Centre which was handy. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The staff were very friendly.

Nice place with nice view”

The hotel is located in the heart of Darling Harbour. Near to everywhere. Easy access to the harbor which has so many attractive places & events. The room is clean, comfy and large with two double beds. Breakfast has many varian menus and tastes delicious. Would love to come back again to this hotel if we come to Sydney next time.

Great Location ”

We found our stay @ Novotel Darling Harbour very comfortable and enjoyable. Hotel very clean with all amenities in the room functioning well. Bed very comfortable. Was impressed with the window blind as could be wound up and down easily to allow the minimum or maximum amount of light required.

Decent hotel on Darling Harbour”

As my business trip revolved around Darling Harbour, the Novotel was convenient for me. On the positives - the hotel is clean, the staff are very professional and the rooms are comfortable and well-featured. There are some areas that could be improved however - like the walkway to the harbour. I assume that most visitors will want to get down through the Harbourside shopping mall, to the waterfront. I feel that the walk across the car park and down the ramp is a little daggy... perhaps it could be made to feel more cared for. Also the shower was a let-down. The water pressure is low and the hot water is limited. Overall, I felt that the Novotel did the job well, but there was nothing to be excited about.

Short Break”

There was some confusion when we checked in as the hotel had no record of breakfast being included in the booking, I had to find the paperwork which was sent by Agoda to prove what had been included in the price. The man on reception had offered us breakfast at a reduced price but when I showed him the correct booking he made no apology or comment and just changed the details in his computer. The room was very good even though it was not on a high floor we still had an amazing view of Darling Harbour and the construction work which is going on at the old convention centre was hardly noticeable. The room itself was clean and comfortable, we stayed for two days and our only complaint was that on the second day our room did not get serviced until late afternoon which was a bit inconvenient as we were getting ready to go back out again so ended up just asking for clean towels, the cleaning staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was good although with it being school holidays it was very busy, the only let down was the position of the fresh orange juice machine (which is delicious) you had to get through the line of people waiting for their freshly made omelettes (again delicious). The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and efficient and tables were cleaned off very quickly. Overall our stay was very good and would defiantly be going back again especially if we can get another good deal like this one.

The views from our room over Darling harbour to Cockle bay and the city of Sydney beyond was fantastic. The service staff at Novotel were friendly and helpful,even though we arrived 2 hours early our room was ready and available. Our room was very clean and comfortable And we will certainly recommend The Novotel to our Family And friends

Great hotel in the Sydney perfect location ”

We visited this hotel for the purpose of attending a conference at the Sydney convention centre in Darling Harbour. The hotel is literally a two minute walk to the centre, and the walkway is all under cover in case of rain. This location is also fantastic for sight seeing the rest of Darling Harbour and a stone throw from the monorail into Sydney CBD. our room was a good size with all facilities you would expect of a four star, and very quiet. Only downside was whilst we were there the pool was out of action for repairs, but they have to do it some time I guess and it was the middle of winter anyway.
