Great Location and price on Darling Harbour”

We stayed for business to attend the Trade Fairs, so wanted something that offered self catering, easy walking distance to Darling Harbour and the City, a decent pool to unwind in, and access to Public Transport. This is the second time we have stayed at Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments. It offers all of these! The 1 bedroom apartment offers a great full kitchen, so we were able to make breakfast, make up a lunch, and even cooked dinner one night when we didn't want to go out. The apartment has everything you need, full fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. There's a full size pool, spa, gym and a sauna. All indoors and open to midnight, so this is great to unwind after working or walking all day. You are couple minute from Darling Harbour, right near the light rail line to central station and then the airport (making this very quick and easy to commute to), and its easy to walk to china town and the CBD. Staff are great and the rooms are well kept, modern, clean and very comfortable. Daily servicing is A1! The only minor hinderance at the moment is there are works underway (the redevelopment of the Exhibition Centre, and some refurbishment of rooms in the complex. Saying that, this only happens during the day, and you tend to not be in the complex, so it shouldn't bother you. There are no other disruptions.

The beauty of staying at the Oaks Goldsborough was its proximity to Darling Harbour with quality shopping and restaurants, that suit young families or groups or individuals of any age. For those who like sea travel the ferry service from Darling Harbour is excellent. Bus and Mono -Rail service are also almost at your door step. Try to make your review as thorough as possible and include any authentic experiences you had or odd quirks you found that you wouldn't know unless you had visited the hotel. These lesser-known tidbits of info aren't published in guidebooks and are often the most interesting things for potential customers to read

Well Located”

we stayed for 2 nights at the oaks goldsbrough apartments. located opposite the convention centre at darling harbour it was very convenient for seeing the city’s main attractions. check-in was painless and we were able to leave our luggage, as we arrived early, until the room was ready. the studio was large and comfortable with all modern facilities allowing for self-catering if this is the preferred option. there was a small balcony which was a nice touch. overall, a pleasant stay.

Great location, large rooms! Not what I expected..”

I went to Sydney to see a show at the Lyric theatre at the casino - The Star. As I was going to be by myself I wanted to stay somewhere within walking distance and within my budget. This place was perfect. The apartments were in a great location serviced easily by the monorail and light rail (didn't use this but loved the monorail), or you could easily walk across the sky bridge and cross the carpark onto Darling harbour itself. The place itself doesn't serve food but there are heaps of places nearby where you can get brekky in the mornings. As these were classified as 'apartments' they had kitchen and laundry facilities all compacted into the spacious rooms. Only disappointing aspect was the lack of view, despite a lovely little balcony with table and chairs - a carpark to the front and back of the place. You may get a better view from the upper floors though. The pool is exactly as seen in the photos - a long lap pool with a separate spa at the end. There's a gym room off to the side and men's and women's toilets/change rooms with sauna to the other side. The service I received from the staff was good, they were busy at all times but still treated my requests and needs promptly and efficiently.

nice studio apartment, in a pretty good area of sydney - darling harbour. walk to darling harbour is not far and it opens up options for food and things to do as well as walking further into the heart of the city. the building and walking inside makes you think your in a prison or a pen, but once you step inside the modernism shines through and actually its not a bad place to stay for a few day. clean modern and nice place to relax. the price really shines through, no where else in sydney can you get this price.

Great stay in Sydney”

We had a great stay at oaks goldsbrough, we were upgraded to a one bedroom harbour view apartment. We were very close to Darling Harbour with all it's shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.

GREAT LOCATION, APARTMENT ACCOMMODATIONS”

Our travel agent recommended this 4* Oaks Goldsbrough Apartment and we, a family and friends party of 8 persons shared 2 x 2 bedroomed apartments and we were very happy. The location in Darling Harbour was superb, a leisurely 15 minutes walk into Sydney CBD or 5-10 minutes in the other direction Harris Street Pyrmont with pubs, cafes and restaurants. All in all, a wonderful 3 night's stay in Sydney for less than what a comparable double/twin room would have cost in a 4* hotel.

Excellent. Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments is a fantastic location on Darling Harbour and has easy access to the city center via public transport. It is also walking distance to China Town and there are plenty of restaurants and attractions near by.

Oak Goldsbrough Apartments ”

The Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments is a fantastic find in the heart of Darling Harbor, Sydney. Besides being a great example of how to succcessfully reuse large old manufacturing facilities (an old wool manufacturing plant, it is a well thought out apartment system with helpful staff and reasonable rates. We remembered reading about this redesign in Architectural Digest decades ago- the efficient and vibrant use of space and materials makes this a unique experience. In addition,there are washers and dryers in the apartments complete with detergent (at least the one we stayed in, a one bedroom). And it was very quiet. They provide all you could ever need in an apartment for cooking but it is the location that makes it special. One street over and down 2 blocks are two local pubs where the natives are friendlhy and the food and beer good. We will be telling our friends about this place and would stay there again in the future.

Affordable, centrally located stay at Sydney”

Stayed here twice, once with a group of friends and another with my sister. The place is comfortable and cozy especially if you have friends coming over to visit. Awesome location as it is only a 10-15 minute walk from Darling Harbour and all its attractions (restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, parks, etc..). Easy access to public transportation to the airport and back. Walking distance from Sydney Fish Market too. The rooms cost us only AUD150 per night for two people but honestly, I think it is definitely worth your money when you consider these advantages and it was the Easter weekend. Definitely staying there the next time we visit Sydney.

Great location, very spacious, clean, homely”

we booked the oaks goldsbrough based on internet reviews and value for money for family of 4. location was also a key factor and did not disappoint. (gps directions a must!) the kids loved the monorail which took us to the gorgeous queen victoria building and delightful paddy's markets. darling harbour is a great location with plenty of good cafes/restaurants to choose from. unfortunately there were a few maintenance issues in our apartment, but joe (maintenance manager) was very quick to respond to the repairs. the apartment was clean, fresh and light, with plenty of space and good facilities. loved the old full height windows.

Our stay was great. Unfortunately the room we had booked (2 bedroom) was unavailable due to water damage but the hotel was able to put us in two 1 bedroom apartments only a few rooms apart. The building is an old wool shed so the interior is quite interesting and the rooms have amazing high ceilings. It feels more interesting than a standard hotel room in the City. Good value for money and the hotel is on Darling Harbour with lots of nice places to eat and shop and a ferry terminal. You can also walk into the City, or the light rail is just across the road so it is easy to catch public transport. There are cafes downstairs for morning coffee run.The only negatives would be the lifts - because of the size of the building, the lifts are verrrry slow, and the pay-tv because there are very few channels to choose from (although you don't really go to Sydney to watch TV!). Also, be warned, the parking for the hotel is in the carpark across the road - $25 a day. These are small issues though. All in all, very happy and would definitely stay again.

Oaks Goldbrough Darling Harbour”

The Oaks Goldbrough presents a clever refurbishment of a classic old building that offers great character. Pricing for a basic room to meet basic needs is reasonable. We enjoyed our stay mostly for the convenience to Darling Harbour and local activities. For drivers, head for the Harbourside multi-storey carpark level 4. Access to Darling Harbour is easy via the linking walkway.

Good service as check in and chech out was fast, willing to accomodate every single request. Great location as it was within walking distance to monorail staion,convention centre and near to various attractions. Spacious room with washing machine, dryer, kitchen and all the untensils is very useful as we are able to do some light cooking. Oaks goldsbrough is an ideal hotel for big families or with intention to stay for a longer period of time.

We really loved staying here. We stayed with our 4 children and it was perfect for us. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and found it very comfortable and practical. It was very easy to get to darling harbour via the connecting foot bridge. We liked how the house keeping came in everyday and replaced our towels and made our beds, its make our stay feel very neat and tidy and fresh. We would definitely stay here again. We Recommend it to anyone wanting nice, reasonably priced accommodation in darling harbour. Some people might find the building very different, but we recommend reading the history of the building first. We did and it made us love and appreciate it beauty so much more!

Fantastic location and really well equiped”

our two bedroomed apartment was spread over two floors which meant we had a lot of space. it had two bathrooms plus another toilet which was useful. the kitchen was very well equipped so we could easily eat in some nights. the hotel staff were freindly and helpful. the covered walkway from level two of the hotel to darling harbour made it a quick and simple journey. we will definitely use this hotel on future trips to sydney.

This was my first stay at the Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments, and i feel that it was very good value for money. The artments was large and are well equiped. At first i thought the locatio was not good untill i have discovered the walkway connected to the 2nd floor which takes you staright to the mono rail and into Darling harbour centre, as such the location is perfect and with the mono rail you are just a few minutes from the centre or to the nearest train station. I will definitelt stay here again

Clean, great location, friendly staff”

We arrived at 6pm and checked out the following morning at 9am as we were in Sydney on a business trip. Check-in was efficient, staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette allowed for cooking if required. There was a washing machine and clean bathroom. Location was excellent with easy access to Darling Harbour and public transport. I could stay here a week and become a tourist!
