Glorious view of Mt Fuji from our room”

I was disappointed that our room didnt hv a private onsen. I was probably confused with rush plans as d hotels with nice views of Mt Fuji were in high demand & getting sold out fast. It has a public onsen though. Anyway the Magnificent view of Mt Fuji made up for it. The hydrangeas are set to bloom in 2-3 wks, but still lovely to walk the garden. Location of hotel is very central, nr the Pirate Ship Cruise Pier & other attractions. Frm Narita, we bought Airport LimoBus promo tickets for 4 pax at discounted total price of Jpy8,000. Traveled same day to Shinjuku station, and bought the Hakone 3 day FreePass at Odakyu Sightseeing Center there, there's added surcharge for Romance Train to Hakone Yumoto station, then took bus to MotoHakoneko. A that point hotel shuttle will pick you up. Be prepared for a long journey frm Shinjuku to Odakyu Hotel de yama. Breakfast & dinner as all restos close by 5pm.

Awesome View of Lake Ashi”

I love Odakyu Hotel De Yama because :- (1) I was assigned Room 307 that provides an awesome view of Lake Ashi. Every morning, when we woke up, we were greeted by the lovely scenery as well as the birds chirping in the background. The garden is nice to stroll along (2) We stayed in a room for 3 persons. So the room is spacious. (3) I love the Drip coffee and the flower flavoured teabags provided by the hotel. (4) There is a COMPLIMENTARY indoor and outdoor Onsen on level 3 for the ladies. The bathroom facilities come with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, facial cleanser and makeup removal. There is a massage chair for us to use as well. Lockers are available for us to put our Yukata and room key. Perfect for a relaxing stay. Onsen operation hours are from 3pm to 12 midnight (5) There are some interesting shopping outlets situated only a stone throw’s away. Lawson and 7-11 (both operated 24 hours) are available nearby. (6) It is important to rent a car

Nice hotel and worth for the cost”

Location is excellent. We can view the lake Ashi and Fuji mountain from this hotel' restaurant. 15 to 20 minutes walks or taking shuttle bus to mojo-Hakone-ko where we can take the cruise for lake Ashi and walk to the famous shrine We love the hot springs at this hotel. It was very nice and we don't have to go to the public ones. We can enjoy the bath right in the hotel at any time It was worth for the money we paid. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and nicely arranged. How ever the dinner is pricey... So we did go for it. In the picture of this hotel, it has a beautiful garden. But, we arrive here in feb - winter time, the garden were plain, ... No flowers, nothing. That 'was expected.😀 I totally recommend this hotel.

What an elegant hotel with great history and amazing view”

Location of this hotel is perfect for get away and relax. Staffs are very helpful and very polite. The beautiful park is magnificently kept. It s so close to Hakone shrine... just 5-10 mins walk from hotel ground. The high tea restaurant has beautiful view of the lake. The room is kept clean in old charm but would be great with brighter lighting, French breakfast was delicious. We wish to revisit again one day.

Great Relaxing Getaway at Hakone”

Hotel scenery is beautiful - offering a serene view of the Lake Ashl & snow- capped Mount Fuji from afar. Hotel's garden is nicely maintained and we totally enjoyed the garden stroll in the morning breeze with the lake as a backdrop. We came from Osaka so we had to alight at JR Odawara station to change into Tozan bus service ride which took abt 1hr to reach Motohakone Ko shuttle pickup point. The free shuttle for hotel guest is prompt and efficient. Hotel staff are very friendly and given us good advice with regards to logistics and transport options back to Shinjuku very well. Food choices within the hotel are limited and slightly more expensive. we only tried the Japanese Restuarant for dinner and was pleased with the ala carte order for Tempura and fried fish. Dinner sets can be on the high side if budget is of concern. Room is well equipped and my hubby is happy with the in room humidifier which offers relief and comfort to our sensitive skin esp during this cold dry winter that the skin seems to be more irritable. Onsen was enjoyable with one indoor pool and one outdoor pool with a forest view. I enjoyed the all-female onsen and went for the hot dip everyday of our 3D2N stay. Overall, we are pleased with our stay and will recommend this hotel to all looking out for a relaxing stay with a view.

Next to Lake Ashi, Spring Onsen, Friendly staff”

It's a great place for relaxation. The hotel is right next to Lake Ashi and so easy to access to the Hakone Jinjia Shine, sight seeing cruise and Mishima skywalk. Staff is very friendly. Room is clean with all basic and necessary facility. However it's a bit far to other Hokone area and you can access outside via the bus interchange (5 min drive by hotel free shuttle bus). The last free shuttle bus departs from bus interchange at 5:10pm. So you have to return to hotel early otherwise you have to walk by 15-20min and the way is quite dark. Recommend this hotel to whom plans to stay more than 3 days in Hokone area. Not a wise choice for short stay though due to the remote location.

Exceptional”

We enjoyed this hotel tremendously. The only struggle was figuring out how to get to the actual hotel from the bus stop but we called and learned that there is a regular hotel shuttle from Motohakone-ko. The room was spacious and clean. The onsen was amazing, especially the outdoor one. We ate at the French restaurant for dinner and for breakfast the next morning; all food was delicious although a tad pricey. Breakfast was a better value than dinner in our opinion. We HIGHLY recommend you get a massage at the spa. That might have been the highlight of our stay there. So darn relaxing. If we go back to Hakone, we are likely to stay here again.

Slightly expensive, better come in season and weather is good”

We stay here when there is heavy mist, so can't really appreciate the surrounding scenery. This hotel is much expensive than other hotel in hakone area with similar facilities. The winning point is the scenery so do come in right season. Dinner is great but expensive as not included in the room price. Great service, love the breakfast too which is not buffet but proper dining.

Great place to stay in Hakone”

Nice indoor and outdoor onsen, free shuttle to pier, comfortable bed

Didn't realised that the hotel have free shuttle to pick and drop you at the pier just opposite the &-Eleven. We walked about 15 mins from the pier to the hotel as there wasn't any taxi available. Hotel is old but looking grand and clean. Perfect location for a visit to Hakone as from the Pier you can take the Pirate Ship to take the cable car. Love the onsen as well. very clean and have massage chair at the changing room too.

Excellent”

Its a pretty old hotel, I liked how they maintained the charm and history of it. I had French food for dinner and American styke breakfast, both were good. On a good day you can see Mt. Fuji from the hotel. There are shuttle buses to and from the pirate ship pier. The staff were friendly, only some could speak English. I got the room with the lake view (I recommend that). The issues I had with the room were that the walls are pretty thin, if someone is talking loud you will be able to hear it; and the shower head, was not comfortable to use. It sprays out thin and hard sprays.

The location, the garden and view of Mt. Fuji

The room was spacious and clean. The 5th floor observation deck was quiet and had a stunning view of the lake and Mt. Fuji. I found out that there weren't any restaurants open late nearby, so by default we ate at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel. It was great! Delicious and great service in English! The shuttle to the port was quick and convenient. The hot spring bath was also great, the massage chairs in the changing rooms were a nice touch. Not the best view of nature in the men's bath, but still relaxing.

Elegant hotel, with great view and a great garden”

The hotel is very elegant and clean. It has a great view of lake ashi. The surrounding becomes very quiet in the evening. There is no restaurant or convenience store nearby. The hotel's restaurants were expensive and by reservation only. The room had no complementary water bottle. The public bath in the hotel was clean, but nothing out of ordinary.

Can't beat the Mt Fuji view on a clear day!”

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Not the place to go if you are looking for the most traditional Japanese experience, but perfect if you want a western bed and access to Japanese onsens (and European and Japanese restaurants on site)! Wonderful staff, everyone was helpful. Lake is beautiful and it's a great place to explore the Lake Ashi area for a night or two. It's an older hotel, that's not super luxurious but definitely nice given it's age. It's a bit of a hike into town, but that also means it's quiet. Make sure you climb up the stairs to the observation floor. It's a small room on the roof with amazing views on a clear day!

Great Onsen - just imagine spring”

Their English service is limited but they make it up in helpfulness, come armed with some Japanese or a translator app. It’s not hard. If you’re not keen on the fine dining the Rosage lake side coffee is amazing dining. It was just hard to walk to bars at night, but the onsen made up for it. Recommend hiring a car in this area.
