Beautiful Rooms and View”
The rooms are simple but clean, cool, and comfortable, and the views are phenomenal. The price you pay for the good view is walking up a lot of stairs, which is harder than it sounds in the heat of the day, but definitely worth it.
- You need to climb a lot of stairs but it's a nice excercise. - Beware of monkeys during breakfast time. - 10 mins walk to the beach and 15 mins to the port. - The same breakfast every day (yogurt with müsli, small bagette and a jam, tea or instant coffee).
Beautiful bedroom view resort”
Papaya is a lovely place to stay. We got greeted with bottles of water on arrival, after walking to the hotel you need it! The staff are lovely and helpful, location is great as it’s away from all the caos on the beaches yet the stairs are a killer walking up to your room. The view from our room was wonderful and the balcony had monkeys on most mornings.
We booked 2 times this hotel. The 1st room we’ve got (A1) was big (the room was for 3 persons and we were 2), everything was working perfectly, we had a big balcony and we couldn’t see the sea, but it was ok. We had breakfast and it was bread, butter/jam, coffee, juice and fruits with yogurt. The second time our room was smaller (C3), but it was ok. The only problem was the yellow water but the staff told us the water was good and the color was ’cause of the rain. The AC was also dripping water. The view was better!! In general the hotel is good, far away from noisy areas, but close enough to go walking to the beach and restaurants. They offer a pick up service (to help you with the bags from the pier to the hotel - inform the time that you will arrive). Everybody talks about the stairs and it is true. There’s a lot of stairs and it is a good exercise. It was 141 steps to get to our 2nd room. So if you book this place, I guarantee that you will step up at list 98 steps (room A1).
Clean, comfortable room. There are a lot of stairs (there is even a calorie burner count on the steps!!) but it is worth it for the view. Breakfast is included - fruit, muesli and yoghurt, orange juice, hot water and sachets for a cuppa and a warm bread roll with butter and jam. Recommend this place and would stay again.
Too Outskirt and Too Tiring”
Basically this hotel is the most "inner part" of Phi Phi Island. We need to walk so far from the pier - never expect this. And the luggage service only provided to the hotel, not from the place Don't bring luggage bag if you want to stay here. Tiring. Lots of steps you need to walk to. Went we reach there, still not ready for check-in. Need to wait and got a room where the floor still wet. Balcony is dirty. And dirty at most corner of the place along the way
Pleasant Stay with beautiful Views”
Good hotel with some good views. Quite place, but little far from pier. Staff is excellent and very much supportive helpful. No Hot breakfast possible in the property. Luggage transfer free of cost by hotel to and from pier.
Good view of the sea”
The resort is very near to the viewpoint. There are many flights of stairs to the reception and rooms. Because of the height, the view is beautiful; you could see both the Tonsai and Loh Dalum bays. Room is clean, simple and basic. The location is good - town, restaurants and beaches are within walking distance and yet not noisy. But, you do get noise from people stamping their feet next door/upstairs. Breakfast is room service; there is no restaurant in the resort. The choice is limited - alternate between mueslia and eggs. We stayed there for 6 nights and for some reason, we had mueslia almost everyday except for 2 days - once we ate out and another the eggs. There are many monkeys and mozzies. So, be prepared if you plan to breaskfast at the balcony. We had monkeys on our last day. Of course, they came without invitation! As it was Christmas period, they gave every guests a mini xmas gift. That's a very nice touch!
Totally amazing experience”
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 13 nights and it was a really great experience. The view from the room is almost as wonderful as from the View point because the hotel is just below the View point. There are a lot of stairs but even though I am not the fittest person in the world I got used to it, because noting can bit having your morning coffee and breakfast with such a view. The staff was more than friendly they pick you up at the pier and carry your luggage to the room (and back when you are leaving) which is more then necessary if you are traveling like we did for 27 hours straight. You have drinking water that comes with the room and they refill every 3rd day when they clean the room, and there is coffee in the room as well. The hotel gave us a complementary bottle of wine, and when we checked out a graphic drawing printed on recycled paper which literary brought tears to my eyes. Overall it was a great experience and would go back if ever on Phi Phi again. Thank you Papaya!
Nice Experience ”
Nice and supportive Staff. Clean room Only one negative thing I observed that everytime if we goes down for coming back to room we need to burn 20 KCal atleast as need to climb straight on stair but for health seekers its good. 😁 Overall good experience
We chose Papaya for our stay on Phi Phi as we wanted to be away from the busy centre. We had a room at the very top of the hotel so there were a lot of steps to reach it, but the views from the balcony were worth the climb. We could still hear some noise travelling up from the town centre but it wasn't loud enough to keep us awake at night. Upon arrival at the pier a member of staff if there to help with luggage and upon departure they offer bag transfer back to the pier at various times through the day. Our room was comfortable with a double bed, private bathroom, air con, mini fridge, a safe, tea and coffee, free bottle water for each day of our stay and a balcony. WiFi worked ok most of the time.
Best View for Staying at PhiPhi”
This place is located about 20 minutes by walking from the pier. Staff waited us at the pier and carrying our luggage. We booked deluxe balcony and the view from the room was so beautiful. Slept well, and the sound from the bar was not so noisy like other review.
Enjoyed our stay very much ”
We were a bit nervous when booking here for the hike up the staits that everyone spoke about; we were pleasantly surprised as it was not that bad. We were very happy that we were greeted at the pier with very helpful employees who carried our bags. We liked that the location was further out from the party scene as we could not hear the partying into the night. It may have been a walk to the main town but it was well worth the good nights sleep. We originally booked for two nights but ended up staying four and the reception staff were very accommodating in making the changes; especially considering how full the hotel was that week. The rooms were nice; not luxurious but great value for money. I would highly recommend to anyone who is relatively fit and does not mind a bit of a walk and does not want to be partying every night.
Quiet and Comfy”
We enjoyed our two nights on Phi Phi at Papaya Resort as it was quiet enough and removed enough that you could sleep at a reasonable hour. The staff were fantastic and even upgraded us on arrival as they had a superior room available and ready when we arrived. Would definitely go back.
2nd time on PHI PHI this place is the best if your are active person :)”
We really loved it . We were lucky so we get the top room with amazing view far enough from noisy beach parties . Monkeys are the best show , but be careful they know how to open the balcony doors if you didn't close them properly . Really worth of stay :)
The view from the room was worth every step up the hill! And there are some steps to climb, believe me! The room was really small but clean and enough to go back and rest. The staff was really nice and did their best. We saw monkeys several times, but not so much as I was expected. If there is no food left in the balcony they are not bothering coming down, so you shouldnt be worried.
Nice view and clean”
A good room with nice view, friendly staff. The negative side is that you have to climb so many stairs every time and the breakfast menu same every day :(
Good place to stay”
The first thing that really stood out within our stay at the Papaya Phi Phi Resort was the location of our Bungalow at the very top of the property right underneath the viewpoint enabling us to see both bays. Nonetheless this also meant that we had to climb A LOT of stairs to get there, 196 to be exact, but it was worth it. The staff was really nice, the atmosphere was good. The breakfast was not that great unfortunately, however this isn't a reason for me not to recommend it. When I return to Koh Phi Phi I would book it again.
Lovely little hotel”
Great hotel with lovely views across the island on the higher rooms (although lots of steps to get there!) breakfast is lovely and is brought to your room. A little out of the way of the centre of the island so not too noisy at night but only takes a couple of minutes to reach so an ideal location :-)
Amazing view, good value, and monkeys!!”
Yes, there are a lot of stairs but it's nothing terrible - my room was fairly high up and for the view I got, I didn't mind. You could ask for a room closer to ground level and then you won't have as many to climb. But if you're in decent shape and don't need to go back and forth to your room a lot, you'll be fine. Room was very basic but clean. The view was amazing and the monkeys put on quite a show in the morning! Could hear music at night from a club down below (which was surprising because this place is set back a bit) but not loud enough to bother me. All around, glad I stayed there!
