Extremely cute place with private onsen”
Two bad things: 1) the address doesn’t work on the car navigation and we got completely lost. Luckily a local found us and guided us there with his bike; 2) the room was not luxurious but super comfortable. This place is super cute. All bathrooms and toilets are shared but they only have about 8 rooms so not a lot of people there at the same time. There are 3 bathrooms. They are all outside of the actual living building. All bath facilities have a natural onsen, with one that is outdoors and it is just so good!!! We used the outdoor one on both nights. The only down side was if someone else was using other baths the hot water is very slow. The host, or owner(?) is a very lovely aged man. Would definitely recommend if you have a car!

Nice place. The owner is very kind. Location is quite far from JR station. Cab cost roughly Y700. Good ambiance, with pretty private onsen. Will go back again.

Worth a try”
The hotel is bit far away from the JR station (15 to 20 mins walk) but close to the sightseeing spot (yunotsubo street). After sunset, the place is dimly illuminated (if you arrive after sunset, watch out!) The hostel is quite traditional - a plus, and we like the feel. There is three Onsen for individual use. Given the no. Of travellers (under 10 rooms), you could definitely enjoy a relaxing bath; it’s spacy inside each Onsen. On the other hand, it means less convenient in term of the facility as well : shared toilet, bathroom (Onsen). Also, you have to get hot water from the staff, and no, tissue paper inside your own room. Overall, the experience is satisfying. The Onsen is the bright spot. Worth a try !

It's about 10 mins walk from the main street, so it's super quiet and guests here won't easily get disturbed. The host here is very friendly and warm and can communicate in simple English. The outdoor and indoor hot spring here are also really cozy and free to use. I really like here.

คนดูแลเป็นคุณลุงแก่ๆพูดภาษาอังกฤษพอได้ รร.ห่างจากร้านอาหาร-ร้านสะดวกซื้อ ฉะนั้นก่อนเข้าไปต้องซื้อของกินเข้าไป ที่พักค่อนข้างไกลจากสถานีรถไฟ ต้องเรียก taxi ไปเพราะหาค่อนข้างยาก แต่ไม่ไกลจาก yufuin floral village ครั้งหน้าถ้าได้ไปคงหาที่พักที่อื่น
