Fantastic and wonderfully relaxing. I travelled alone, and felt very welcomed and safe. Restaurant good, with a wonderful view, and attentive and friendly staff. I thoroughly recommend here for a 'get away from it all' time. Would also be very romantic for couples.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxed. Saw some lovely wildlife. The staff are extremely polite, very helpful and very smiley. The food was really good value. The breakfast selection was superb and really tasty. We are keen to go back one day soon!

It was a lovely stay. The staff were so helpful and it really is like sleeping in the middle of the rainforest. We had monkeys and lemurs right outside our cabin. It was well located to go and see more wildlife reserves.

The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is good. I strongly recommend the rooftop house. It has a sea view and it is located in the end of the jungle. It has really large windows and you can enjoy the sunset from bed. Awesome.

We really enjoyed our stay at Permai Rainforest in the tree houses. Breakfast could have been better, though. Had the opportunity to spot lots of orangutans and snakes, including a viper and big lizard. Super friendly and helpful stuff!

It is for the location and the treehouse. Not for those who are looking for modern 5 star facilities. Lots of nature and outdoor activities available. Jungle pool was awesome. Walking distance from the Sarawak Cultural Village.

Well it was an impromptu trip to santubong. Staying here was amazing. 1 night is never enough. We stayed in Cabin 12, nearest to jungle pool and halfway to the 2nd beach. Our cabin is just nice for 6 of us. Room was spacious. No aircond, just fan but at night it was just cold - do bring your sweater. Recommended for group of friends who just want to have fun in nature.

The air were fresh here. They got two beautiful beach and a natural waterfall pool. It was cool to dip into the pool when the weather was hot, because the cold water will refresh us. At night, if to full after had the yummy dinner prepared by the cafeteria, can have a walk and listen to the frogs singing 🎶 in the woods. They are tree frog if you can saw them from the woods, but don't catch them.

        Treehouse was amazing”
We were so excited to stay in the treehouse, and this didn't disappoint! What an amazing setting. The beaches are sandy and swimmable, though the water was really murky when we were there. The pool is unique (though a bit treacherous with a 5 year old that likes to jump in). We loved this unique spot. Stayed 2 nights in a treehouse with our 5 and 7 year olds and they absolutely adored it. We saw silver leaf monkeys, macaques and a proboscis monkey on site. And there was a bonfire on saturday night. You have to walk to the convenience store at Damai center to get a beer--but it's only a 10 minute walk there. Sarawak Cultural Center was interesting and great for the kids. We also did the waterfall hike, but it's a 90 minute hike within the resort and looked to be a bit much for our kids. We did the trailhead within Mt Santubong National Park, right up the road, which gets you to the same waterfall. That is billed as 20 minutes, but still took us 45 minutes.

        Disappointing ”
I was really excited to stay in a treehouse here, but everything went downhill from the start. We were checked in to a room that hasn't been cleaned since the last guests - it was filthy. Trekked all the way back to reception who rather unapologetically gave us a new treehouse room. Trekked all the way back to the new room, which had been cleaned, but had no towels or drinks (the rate includes free minibar soft drinks). Trekker all the way back, and this time spoke to the manager who said she'd send housekeeping to fix everything, and would check in on us at 8pm to make sure all was better. Waited until dinner, but no one came, when we returned, towels had been added but that was it. No one came at 8pm to double check. Got into bed and the double bed was made with a single sheet put on sideways, and it had stains, as did the pillow case. By now it was just all a joke. I think this place is a bit of a tourist trap. Would have loved a refund but they didn't really want to help.

What a fantastic resort. Its a unique opportunity to live close to nature in a jungle setting, with access to a beach, kayaks, nature trails, not to mention mellow out in a treetop cabin. Best Treehouse Experience”
This is second visit after 2 years and this place is still so mystical for me and my partner. If you are a nature lover then this place is for you. Being inside jungle with an option plenty of activities to choose from or just sit at the tree house balcony facing the South China Sea, listening to various birds sounds and with sound of waves surrounded with huge tall trees it is simply being attune with nature. My only concern was the jungle pool, the previously there was plenty of water flowing through water falls and water flowing into the jungle pool making the water super clean and this time around the water was stagnant and i felt it was dirty as many people was using it and some even were using soap and having a bath inside. This time we did not use the pool and the beach was clean and clear and thus the beach make it up for us. Breakfast has improved and good to note it is more vegetarian friendly now. Definitely will come again !

Permai - The Rain Forest Experience”
If you're expecting a 5 star Luxury Hotel coming into this place, you're better of somewhere else. Permai aims to give you the closest experience to a rain forest as possible and it excels at doing that. So do expect bugs, sticky floors, and no air-conditioning. To make your stay as comfortable as possible, the staff there are friendly and try their best to cater to your needs.

It is "primitive jungle" but everything works fine”
Stayed in Chalet no 18, and it is nice and clean, sofa and table for coffee and card games after dark. A/C a bit too hot in right room, other room and hot water shower worked fine. Beaches are sandy with big rocks that are easily spotted. Jungle pool (natural with freshwater) is cool and refreshing. Breakfast is OK, it might be a good idea to also let people choose from menu (for a charge of course) Dinner - OK, was surprised that my very choosy grandchildren liked it. High Rope walk great and scary according to the children. Instructors fantastic. Wild life: We spotted monkeys (not the proboscis) a snake, a big lizard, squirrel, a huge spider in the cafe and lots of birds and insects. Staff speaks reasonably good English and is very friendly and service minded. A very nice stay. Advise: If you fancy a beer and a cigar after dark - bring it from Kuching.

Paths wind over bridges and along the forest at the edge of the sea....and lead to cabins which have verandah's overlooking the forest. The two beaches are nice, the waterfall pool is delightful and the resort is close enough to a couple of others to have a change of location for dinner. The forest paths are nicely challenging and last about 1.5 hours and there is more extensive climbing at Mt Santabong 15 mins walk away. We went in heavy rainy season but still enjoyed the resort a lot.

Great stay in the middle of the rainforest”
I had a treehouse for myself and it was such a great stay. Sure the wifi is weak and only available in the restaurant area a few minutes walk from the treehouse, sure the treehouse would benefit from refurbishment, but it all just added to the charm of the stay. It rained the whole weekend there and the rain was very loud on the roof of the treehouse and there wasn't much to do as the sea was very agitated so no sea activities were possible but I loved the stay, it was a real disconection from the routine, all you need is a great book and a peaceful mindset to enjoy the surroundings and charms of the Borneo rainforest!
