          Hidden place in the trees!”
We spent 4 nights in tree house 5, the view from the house is great: ocean view on one side and jungle on the other side, monkeys playing in the trees, squirrels shipping food from the restaurant, lots of cute lizards of many colors (hungry mosquitoes, giant red ants and big spiders too...). It's rustic (we were expecting it), the facilities are very basic but the minimum is there to sleep, shower with hot water (only soap, no other toiletries), keep some things in a small fridge and charge your phone (wifi only at the reception all the way at the entrance of the park). The buffet consists of 2 mains, almost the same every day but you don't really have a choice being tucked away from the city! Speaking of which, expect to have some issues to find a taxi, grab is a better and much cheaper solution in the end. We didn't really enjoy the other services available because we had a lot of rain but there are 2 beaches, sea activities and jungle fun, including the natural pool!

What a fantastic resort. Its a unique opportunity to live close to nature in a jungle setting, with access to a beach, kayaks, nature trails, not to mention mellow out in a treetop cabin. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Would have wanted to stay much much longer thsn 2 days. Hope to come back one day.

          Best Treehouse Experience”
This is second visit after 2 years and this place is still so mystical for me and my partner. If you are a nature lover then this place is for you. Being inside jungle with an option plenty of activities to choose from or just sit at the tree house balcony facing the South China Sea, listening to various birds sounds and with sound of waves surrounded with huge tall trees it is simply being attune with nature. My only concern was the jungle pool, the previously there was plenty of water flowing through water falls and water flowing into the jungle pool making the water super clean and this time around the water was stagnant and i felt it was dirty as many people was using it and some even were using soap and having a bath inside. This time we did not use the pool and the beach was clean and clear and thus the beach make it up for us. Breakfast has improved and good to note it is more vegetarian friendly now. Definitely will come again !

Permai - The Rain Forest Experience”
If you're expecting a 5 star Luxury Hotel coming into this place, you're better of somewhere else. Permai aims to give you the closest experience to a rain forest as possible and it excels at doing that. So do expect bugs, sticky floors, and no air-conditioning. To make your stay as comfortable as possible, the staff there are friendly and try their best to cater to your needs.

          Beach & jungle”
Have to recommend due the beach & jungle location. However, whilst there are some very positive points, there are many areas for improvement The positives are an extremely well marked and interesting jungle trail, a beautiful beach, a jungle stream sourced pool, the ocean view treetop rooms, the restaurant staff and guides and the À la carte food menu. The negatives are the pillows / room smell of humidity, the rooms need refreshing (the resort will close for 2 months for this), there is no mosquitoe net or spray in the room (given the many openings you cannot keep them out), the buffet is limited (cold, served with cordial drinks) and the cost (based on room conditions and buffet)

We thought Permai Rainforest Resort was amazing! Such a beautiful location with both rainforest and ocean. We stayed in the treehouse and had a beautiful view of the ocean and the rainforest. Treehouse was beautiful, bathroom and towels/sheets could do with an upgrade but didn't bother us too much. Breakfast and dinner included was great! Even though we ended up ordering extra stuff most nights because the buffet wasn't amazing. Heaps of activities that we didn't get a chance to do but plenty of options. The pool was so nice and refreshing. Also would recommend the jungle trek to the waterfall. So beautiful. Location is very far from Kuching town centre so if that's where you're wanted to go each day would not recommend this resort. We took one day trip into Kuching to visit the wildlife centre. Was pretty cheap for a grab/taxi. Overall would definitely recommend Permai Rainforest Resort!! Will definitely come back if we're ever in Kuching again.

          Doesn’t feel like a resort”
Booked 2 treehouses but were told that treehouse can stay up to 2 adults and 1 kid, quite disappointed since I personally called up and mention that I have 6 adults and 1 child. We got a cabin instead. The bedsheets and pillow were really dirty but were changed after request. The cleaner told us that the cabin is empty for quite sometime. Didn’t clean out the old towels and didn’t provide new towels, only given after we requested. The beach is near, the food was bad, monkeys keep trying to steal our food. Flying fox was not worth the price, everything were expensive, the boat ride to watch dolphins cost Rm160, also not worth it. Our stay were not pleasant. If you’re a local, recommend you to stay in city instead, but if you’re a foreigner, choose to stay here but request for the treehouse. The staffs were nice but the resorts were not as good as last time. We were the only local there.

          Treehouse was amazing”
We were so excited to stay in the treehouse, and this didn't disappoint! What an amazing setting. The beaches are sandy and swimmable, though the water was really murky when we were there. The pool is unique (though a bit treacherous with a 5 year old that likes to jump in). We loved this unique spot. Stayed 2 nights in a treehouse with our 5 and 7 year olds and they absolutely adored it. We saw silver leaf monkeys, macaques and a proboscis monkey on site. And there was a bonfire on saturday night. You have to walk to the convenience store at Damai center to get a beer--but it's only a 10 minute walk there. Sarawak Cultural Center was interesting and great for the kids. We also did the waterfall hike, but it's a 90 minute hike within the resort and looked to be a bit much for our kids. We did the trailhead within Mt Santubong National Park, right up the road, which gets you to the same waterfall. That is billed as 20 minutes, but still took us 45 minutes.

Permai is in a protected nature reserve, good for a quiet break. We stayed in a treehouse and the rate included breakfast and dinner, and they have plenty of activities including mangrove tour and snorkelling. We took a dolphin and firefly watching trip in the evening which I would highly recommend. We saw proboscis monkeys, a baby crocodile and fireflies. The staff & service at the restaurant were good, but the food is too western with not much choice. The resort accept credit cards.
