"My short visit in Male was made memorable due to my stay in Coral grand beach resort. The rooms were clean, i got upgraded to a oceanfront suite and the manager Mr. Shifau was very pleasing person. The remaining staff was also very helpful specially Miraj and Surbhi, the receptionist. Only downside was the breakfast which seemed like eating at a roadside stall and not in line with the 4 star rating. The spa facilities were also good but staff in the Spa should be more friendly. One girl was very rude and was not polite in a very bad taste. Overall it was a pleasant stay and i would definitely recommend if staying for a short trip in hulumale island. Please upgrade your restaurant and make it upto the international standards. "

"Hotel is very close to the main airport and resorts pick customers till late evening only, so it was very convenient for a night stay. Also being in Male city it also gave us a chance to see the city and buy few things like beach sandals, sun screen etc. Info: One can get transfer from readily available ferries between airport and city. They charge USD 1 per person one way in morning and USD 2 in night."

"A great place for a few nights in Male city. Only a 5 minute wslk from the airport ferry terminal. Wslking distance to many attractions and great resaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend it!"

"it's a budget hotel so expect budget facilities, but the owner was very nice/friendly and it was a perfectly okay/safe place to stay the night if you can't get a flight in during the day and arrange the transfer out to your island straight away. only real issue was the super hard bed and super soft pillows so neck/back was a bit out of joint the next day. but i lived and the next 5 days was on a diff island in an overwater villa so the 1 night sacrifice was perfectly doable. really close to the airport, about 5-7 mins drive. (cost for a taxi is about 70 MYR-ask for the price first before you drive off, they don't have a meter and they'll quote you whatever. also get cash out at the airport ATM, they don't have a card payment system in the car)"

"upon our arrival at about 9 pm from a resort, a friendly staff at the reception efficiently checked us in for the 2-day stay we had booked to be able to visit male before returning home to the usa. although our reservation had been for a “superior” room, we were presently surprised to have been assigned a large “super deluxe with jacuzzi” room in the new wing of the hotel -- a truly fabulous accommodation, clean with a spectacular view across the straight to male. it was a room that equaled any of the best (4 and 5-star) hotels worldwide at which we have stayed. the scrumptious breakfast buffet served in the 4th floor uduvilaa restaurant in the new wing was included in the price of our room. every morning during our stay, the view to male during breakfast set the stage for intriguing visits to the city. in the evenings we enjoyed the sunsets from the aptly named “sunset deck” (adjacent to the uduvilaa restaurant), where we would sit until well past the sun had set, watching the lights of male come alive under the stars twinkling above the indian ocean. our dinners in the faru coffee house were served by exceptionally friendly staff and were very tasty -- we were easily engaged in conversations with the wait staff and enjoyed learning about the maldives from them. the hotel has beautiful and well-manicured grounds with walkways in a park-like setting, exercise areas, a putting green, tennis courts, a swimming pool (which unfortunately was undergoing renovation during our visit, but looked like a great place to spend time) and a small greenhouse / vegetable garden where produce and flowers apparently used by the hotel are grown -- the grounds made for very romantic evening walks with soft music playing throughout. if ever we have the opportunity to return to the maldives, we will certainly again book to stay at the hulhule island hotel. "we can classify this as the highest rank hotel in male city. the rooms were perfect and everything addressing the real luxury for the hospitality. for bussinesstravellers i recommend this maximum but tourists wants the joyness with beaches , they have to move out of male city. other than that, everything i would say perfect and amazing. "We were just trying to find a place to rest before our evening flight and we found this hostel. The hostel is nicely located in a quiet community nearby the beach, which is just 15-20min away from the airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful to arrange transportation to and from airport for us, and recommend nearby restaurants. The room itself as well as other facilities of the hostel are all new, very clean, and nicely maintained. We were particularly impressed by the helpfulness of the staff because my boyfriend dropped his cell phone at the taxi on our way back to airport. Without the help of the airline crew and hostel staff, we won’t be able to track back the taxi driver that gave us the ride, and get his phone back right before our departure. I must say it impresses us a lot. Thanks, the Orca and your staff! "

"If you need to spend one night in Male on your way to the Maldives, Kam Hotel is a good option. It is located next to the ferry terminal so you just need to take the ferry from the airport to Male and then walk for a couple of minutes. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the food is ok, the rooms are clean. However, the bedrooms and bathrooms are small, the furniture is very basic and old, the TV is 20 years old at least, so don't expect anything fancy. "
