"From the moment i drove into the hotel the feeling was completely different to other Yangon hotels & even hotels in developed countries. The space, tranquility, hotel layout (beside the largest lake in Yangon) & service, deserved special mention. Large impressive lobby. Room facing the largest lake in Yangon, clean, orderly, strong wifi ...... just nice for business traveller. Breakfast was adequate, staff very helpful, fully equip gym, indoor & outdoor pool, Korean & Chinese restaurant but the bar at the top floor need more life. Thoroughly enjoyed by 2 night stay & will definitely come back."

"3rd hotel in Yangon, Myanmar for the past 1 1/2 yrs and this is the best hotel. It is near the airport, clean, new and modern. The roof top bar is one of the few good place to relax and entertain. Negative: the water pressure is low and the shower curtain used is not in line with the modern image. "

"Loved our stay at the Melia Yangon, hotel entry was so grand and beautiful centre piece hanging from the ceiling, staff very professional and polite, our room on the 22d floor was very spacious with beautiful windows and views, bed was massive and very comfortable, breakfast was amazing with so many choices of tasty food. Hotel is across the road from Inya Lake where you can have morning and evening walks, next door to the hotel is the Myanmar Plaza shopping centre, with a food court/restaurants on the top floor. Distance to the city centre depends on the traffic but it's not that far. Would definitely stay at the Melia Yangon again."

"booked the deluxe room with no breakfast online. When check in at the Hotel, they offer us with executive room which includes use of premium lounge which includes soft drink all day long and snacks and finger foods also we enjoy happy hour cocktails and any alcohol for two hours. All that for extra US$35 a day. The pool was great just wish that it was more closer to the Guest room. Didn’t like the idea of walking up the stairs to get to the pool area. The breakfast was excellent with so much choices . Oh also the happy hours including a mini snacks like mini burgers and pizza which means didn’t have to worry about kids dinner that was a bonus.I would definitely stay there again and enjoy the luxury.Thank you Novotel👍 PS :: if you need a taxi while you in Yangon ,I recommend using Myanmar Peter. he has a very Clean, reliable, air-conditioned sedan. "the park royal was the ideal place to stay in yangon. hotels in yangon are extremely packed these days, and i had to move to another hotel after three days. the differences were stark. park royal was much better, as you can tell that the staff have true training and orientation to the service industry. most of all, the helpful staff at park royal can really help if you are a first time traveler to yangon - helping you get around and even find other accommodation, if needed. i found the food at the restaurant to be pretty pricey and not too exciting. the japanese restaurant was also pricey, but really quite good. the location was great - right by the main market, and the rooms were very comfortable, with exceptionally comfortable beds. the bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but they were completely fine, as well. "

"Well situated, beautiful architecture, wide rooms and nice bathrooms, friendly and efficient staff. This hotel is very pleasant and I used to spend some nights here when travelling in Myanmar. The price is high like in every five stars hotels in Yangon and the Emporia restaurant is not very good but the Hokaku (japanese restaurant) is very well known in Myanmar and I think it's a lovely place: fantastic food, good chef and nice staff."

"After receiving a discount on the room rate through my rewards points, our room rate ended up being very reasonable, but even the standard rate is much lower than I was expecting for Yangon hotels. Having said that, maybe rates have finally started to fall as there is more competition and my stay having been during the low season, it's not like there were too many tourists and business travellers competing for rooms, unlike during the 2012-13 tourist rush to the country. Anyway, the room was fine, with a nice balcony but as the hotel was built in the 80s and not upgraded much since, a few minor things are showing their age, such as the toilet not flushing properly and the carpets and other furnishings being quite old. However, a new lift is currently under construction, which will replace the old one. The buffet breakfast, full of western, Indian and Chinese/Burmese style options was outstanding, far better than any buffet anywhere else in Myanmar. This is the standard for hotel breakfasts, with a cheese board and selected cold meats, corn flakes and even Swiss style muesli, seasonal tropical fruit, salads, bread, noodles, Burmese style breakfast soup (Mohinga), Indian flat breads with pea curry and many other options, just superb. The pool was nice and inviting and we had a quick swim before breakfast. The surrounding gardens and view onto Inya Lake also quite stunning. Service was fast and professional and was in line with expectations from a hotel of this calibre. Apart from some renovations needed to modernize the standard of the corridors and the rooms, the hotel is more of a 4.5 star standard than merely 4 star and definitely one of the top 10 hotels in the city. "The Grand Garden Hotel Yangon is homey and comfortable indeed. Especially the staffs; the people who still smile naturally and who are naturally willing to help as well, as though they are hosting or welcoming old friends or relatives or familiy members in their own house. This atmosphere is a rarity on this earth, we mean it. The hotel offers transfer service too, both from or to airport. Simply let them know your flight details they will take care the rest, they are very professional. Another thing is; having flown from Europe to Yangon people have been at least 16 ours in sitting position which burdens your body, the hotel offers spa and massage service with very very... and very reasonable price. And you know what? This facility runs 24 hours! This place is an oase, period! We decided to book there again before we left. Of course we are looking forward for coming back, and we wish it happens soon.."
