Comfortable stay ”

My first time to visit SG and I loved it! Populous Hotel is a good place to say in SG. It’s close to everything and comfortable! Bugis station is about less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel and a bus stop is just in front of the hotel too! Public transport is very easy and you can also use GRAB or taxi’s if you’re in a hurry! Didn’t have breakfast in the hotel but Bugis Junction and Suntec city is very close to the hotel and there’s so much variety of food around! There is 7-11 and an orange juice vending machine close to the hotel that you must try! And yes!! It is sweet and cheap! It only cost $2 SGD. Me and my partner had it everyday. The rooms was tiny but comfortable to move around. Housekeeping clean the room every day and changed our towels which is very good. Sound proofing of the room was not great at all. You can hear people talking from the outside and on the next room. Other than that, populous hotel Is a very good place to stay and will definitely comeback.

A warm experience - Value stay!”

Pros: New Hotel. Staff are super friendly. Great Location. Close to good local food & eateries. Close to public transportation. Beautiful Rooftop Area. Great Value! Cons: Not very suitable for larger guests. Thin walls. Sound carries abit too well from outter halls into rooms. Neighbouring hotels are old and dingy, witnessed my fair share of adult workers around there. Comments: I think the hotel staff are working hard to constantly improve and provide a more decent stay experience, the furnishings are all new, decently and tastefully designed, it definetly stands out from the rest of the other boutique hotels nearby. The decrepid hotels next door mar the inviting front of Populous Hotel. Would recommend this hotel for the less picky and budget visitor.

Populous Hotel is quite an amazing hotel for the price you pay. The room is perfect for one or two people and the staff were really helpful. The location of the hotel is good since it is close to shopping centres and restaurants. Highly recommended!

A little gem ”

Pros: For the price range, the hotel is very clean and the check in was a Breeze. The location was also about 5-10 mins walk to Bugis mrt and 5 mins walk to various eateries which open to midnight. Toilet was Super spacious, comfy bed, and the hair dryer was also very good. Cons: Not very sound proof, especially you can hear each time other room closes their door, this is also due to the fact that door must be pull hard to close. Aircon is centralised hence you need to inform front desk if you wanna adjust the aircon.

Most valuable hotel if you're going for Singapore F1”

Greeted with friendly staff as soon as we walked in. Check-in was fast and easy. Within walking distance from F1 entrance. And walking distance to Bugis station. Probably the most valuable hotel for F1 visitors. The room is very clean as well.

Good location, clean room. ”

The hotel room’s size is adequate and very clean, including the bathroom. Free wifi. Location is a few minutes walk from Suntec and Bugis which is a plus. The female staff is friendly, very helpful and responds fast to our request. Thank you!! The male staff is alright, but did not provide us details including the wifi part and forgot about our deposit when we checked out till we reminded him. Downside would be the soundproofing for the place; I can hear people walking pass/talking outside my room. Closing of doors from other nearby rooms can be heard very clearly. Overall a pleasant hotel, thanks for the stay!

Unique hotel in perfect location”

This hotel has very unique room and built in perfect location. The staff also very helpful when we request an upgrade room. Only 5 mins walking distance to bugis junction and bugis MRT station. definitely recommend this hotel

Above average”

The Populous Hotel looks a bit fancy, I like the contemporary vibe of the lobby. I also find the location of the hotel convenient and accessible to a lot of shops, malls, restaurants and the Bugis station. However the room given to me was very far from what was pictured on this site. It was very small, good for just one person to say that there was not much of space for visitors nor extra luggage. The bathroom's proximity was very near to the bed and had some insects flying and crawling on the walls of the shower room and toilet bowl to my dismay. Since the room given to me was an adjoining room, I could also hear the other guest from the other side vice-versa. I do appreciate that the toiletries were complete and to my liking and everyday my room was housekept, the same toiletries were replaced unlike some 4 or 5 stars hotels. I was also disappointed not to find the hotel smartphone that can guide me in the city which was also advertised on their page. I also have to share that there was a time I felt thirsty upon going down the lobby (as it was hot in Singapore) so I asked one of the receptionist but she told me in a displeasing manner that guests are only provided 2 bottles of water per day. She did gave me the water but she also gave me her attitude. I can understand the hotel's policy but not the staff's attitude. All in all, the Populous Hotel is somewhat a good choice for a short stay in Singapore but don't expect a lot of bells and whistles nor a fancy room.

Can't control thermostat”

The hotels proximity to bugis junction and mrt is definitely a plus. Interiors were great. Our only gripe was that we cannot control the temperature of our room. You have to call reception and tell them to adjust it, which can get quite annoying and inconvenient. Also note that the hotel charges $100 security deposit upon check in, which you can subsequently get upon checkout. Overall it was okay, wouldve been great if you can control the aircon inside your room.

Pros - Location - Less than 5-10mins away to bus stops, mrt station, shopping mall. Easy to find food around the hotel as well. Clean hotel - clean white sheets and toilet. Cons - Thin wall and big under door gap - You can basically hear everything when the tv is off (sensitive ears may not be a suitable place) and one of the days during my stay my next door neighbour just finished showering and sprayed body spray after - being sensitive I immediately sneezed.

2days 1night”

Spend my night there as I had a conference at Suntec. Good walking distance. Food available nearby. 7-Eleven nearby. Clean and nice ambience. I can hear my neighbours talking and praying (not sure is it the rooms too close to one another or the walls thin or the room lack sound absorption.) Walking distance to Bugis.

Good for budget option”

The room is too small and the wall is too thin that you can hear sounds surrounding your room. Best if you just want room to sleep but not rest. However, it has amazing location just near Bugis shopping areas and MRT, and walking distance to City Hall. It has back entrance, which you should use for any car pick-up or drop-off.

The hotel looks new and the furniture are comfortable. Nice shower, bed, wifi... I had a room without windows. It's not disturbing for me. The price was affordable even for a stay at new year eve.

Clean hotel but no comfortable”

+ good looking, clean, newly renovated hotel + rooftop garden - air-cond is not adjustable in the room (need to call desk to adjust) - the toilet has no exhaust fan - bad sound insulation. it is really that bad.

The staff were helpful and friendly, especially Ida.The room was very clean, but it is a new hotel.Small room but it was adequate for one person.The price per night was good for the location .I would definitely stay again .

Location was amazing, a lot of shopping centers were within short walking distance. Under 10min walk to Bugis MRT and City Hall MRT etc. A few nice restaurants nearby as well (especially Founder Bak Kut Teh), had no trouble getting around whilst staying here. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Good location”

The hotel location is near from Bugis Junction mall. You can find 7 Eleven and Subway just few steps from hotel. But to get to the entrance of nearest MRT station, you have to walk about 600-700 meters. The bathroom is covered with transparent glass. But apparently they also have limited room with non-glass wall bathroom. There is no hanger available to hang the clothes or towel in the bathroom. Even there is no space in shower box to put soap or shampoo. They put the new towels in the bed, because there is no storage to put the towels in the bathroom. The hot water is flowing intermittently. So when the water flow slower, it would be very hot. Fortunately it only happen in seconds, then back to normal. But then back to slow again. And so on. The soundproofing is uncomfortable. I could hear the guest next door speak. Conclusion: only recommended for single guest. Or couple who don't mind to be watched as you take a bath.
