Excellent for solo travelers ”
The Posada's rooms are for single people only. However, they are very clean and have nice amenities like a desk and a hot water kettle. Also, the room has a refrigerator. Visitors can use the hot spring bath (onsen) at the large hotel Suimeisou across the street. The onsen are wonderful. I stay at Posada Suimei whenever I come to Hakone because the location, rooms, and staff are wonderful.

Excellent for solo traveller”
It is only about 2 min walk from Hakone Yumoto Station. While located at the back street, it is very tranquil to stay. Please be noted that Posada is mainly for solo traveller and s/he can use the hotspring at the Main Hotel, ie Suimei. Good budgeted stay

Best hidden gem in Hakone!”
This was the BEST FIND in Japan -- if you don't book here as a solo traveler, you have messed up. The rooms are clean and comfortable though small. But you get full access to the onsens at the luxurious Hakone Suimeisou -- do yourself a favor and look up their onsen facilities. They are STUNNING. So for this price, to get full access to the posh sister hotel, it's a STEAL! If you're in Hakone you won't spend much time in your room anyway, so who cares if it's small? Also, the room's bathroom is rather small/sterile, so I highly recommend using the awesome shower facilities in the onsens and just arranging your day to shower before or after an onsen session. Plus, it's literally less than a 5min walk to the main train and bus station, which gives you access to the rest of the area. The concierge at the main hotel gave great recommendations for authentic/reasonable places to have dinner. Thank you for an awesome experience!

My favorite Hakone hotel”
I've stayed here five times now, and each time the experience is wonderful. The rooms are designed for solo travelers, so stay at the larger hotel across the street (same ownership, onsen, and management) if you're traveling with a partner and want to share a room. However, the Posada's rooms are cozy (but with a desk and workspace more than sufficient for a business trip), comfortable, and equipped with private bathrooms (with tub and shower - though I always bathe at the onsen because they're fantastic). This is my go-to hotel in Hakone, and I highly recommend it. It's also fine if you don't speak Japanese. The wonderful managers at the desk speak plenty of English to welcome foreign visitors, and they're delightfully kind and helpful people too.

Convenient and value for money”
Was very close to the Hakone Yumoto station, and there were many shops at the main street just outside. Value for money, tried the public bath and it was very nice, especially at this price. The single room was in an annex in the opposite building, which might look a little dark and quiet at night. The bath was in the main building. Also discovered there was an open air bath, but I didn't try it. The toilet in the single room was a little small and cramped but if you showered at the public bath it would have been spacious and nice. Overall, value for money for a single room and also public bath access which is a major plus.

Excellent place to stay”
Nearby to Hakone Yumoto Station allowing travelers to drop off their luggage upon arriving to Hakone from Tokyo. Staff speaks decent English, and kind to provide explanation on hotel facilities. The building for single room is located in different building couple of blocks away from the main building where the hot spring is located.

Nice short stay in Hakone”
Pros: Walking distance from Hakone-Yumoto station, lots of shops nearby, close to the nice river view, all the basics for a short stay and includes access to onsen which is always great (indoor and outdoor with a view) Cons: room is small which was ok for me because I was only staying one night with almost no luggage. If you have luggage, it probably wouldn’t fit in the room. Also the air conditioning doesn’t really reach the bathroom so while the room is warm, the bathroom is freezing during winter!

Great hotel, conveniently located”
The best thing about this hotel has to be the location, just a 3 minutes walk from Hakone train station, with buses to the various attraction points. It is also near various restaurants. The staff are very friendly and kind. The hotel is located 10 steps away from the main building where the onsen is located. Perfect stay, highly recommend.

Good find for solo traveler”
So happy I chose this place based on reviews here! I think it was a great value. The location so close to the train station makes arrival easy, yet one block off the main road and it was so quiet. They stored my bag until check-in (& brought it to the room before me) so I was able to explore for several hours first. The room was small, as expected, but comfortable. The perk of the onsen at the main hotel kitty-corner across the alley was a highlight. I used both the ladies’ and the open-air during my stay and both were great. Also, since the room’s shower was so small it was a plus to use the shower and spa products at the onsen. Checkout was earlyish at 10, but again they kept my bag so I could be out and about until afternoon. The desk clerk I dealt with both days spoke good English and was very nice.

Fantastic hotel”
The location is incredible. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The annex where I stayed is lovely for one person but would be too small if you have more than one traveler. It’s perfect for one, however. The Onsen is spectacular - they have open air as well as indoor Onsen. I absolutely recommend this hotel. It’s an incredible value for this price.

Perfect for those who want a great room!”
Very close to the train station! Exit from the left exit upon tapping out of the train station and walk across the bridge to the shopping dori. From there, hit the ground level and walk through the shopping street until you find the coffee shop "マイヤミ", take a left there and you'll see a small street, walk in! Pass the oil blotting paper shop (on the right) and you'll see the main building. Head in and you'll be greeted by some kindly old guys (super polite and they speak English!) The hotel is separated into two buildings. The public bath is located within the main building and is open till late. If you can't find the hotel, just head to the tourist info place and they'll hand you a map to the hotel. The room itself was nice, roomy, comfy and quiet.

One night stop”
Nice hotel, right at the train / bus station. Nice room, relatively small room, but this is normal for the hotels I’ve been staying in. The only negative for me was the 10:00 am checkout time. The check in time was 15:00, so I don’t see why the hotel needs from 10:00am to 15:00 to turn the rooms around. An 11:00 or 12:00 checkout would be great. All staff were exceptionally nice and pleasant and went out of their way to make you feel like a welcome guest at this hotel. I would have no hesitation in staying again.

Tiny but wonderful ”
This was an annex to the nicer onsen. The staff was extremely polite and helpful and did speak some English. Checked in at main building and then they walked me over. I was given access to the onsen, which was very nice. The staff apologized for size of room, but it was ok. Was tiny, but I wasn't spending a lot of time there. Bed was comfortable. Really close to train station and good value for area.

Budget annex of nice hotel with fab onsen ”
This is the cheaper annex of the much fancier hotel next door. Rooms are teeny but have everything you need including aircon. You can use the gorgeous onsen in the posher hotel and the staff are lovely and really helpful - they stored my bag overnight with no issue. Great budget choice if you need a night here rather than going futher afield to one of the mountain resorts.

Excellent service and Onsen at hotel!”
Very helpful and nice staff. Location is right across from train station and bus. Room is small but that is a custom by now if youre coming from another country. For one person it was fine for me. Onsen was amazing and clean. 24 hours as well except several hours where they clean it. Overall great experience, thank you!
