Clean hotel near JB Sentral”

New and clean hotel 5 km from JB Sentral . Good value for the price . Staff is friendly and helpful. A few restaurants are within walking distance (Local food or McDonalds and PFK ). If you are a light sleeper ask for a room facing the back of the hotel .We will go back next time in Johor Bahru .

Small, functional, convenient”

The Potpourri Hotel is a small, yet cosy and functional establishment. The room we had come with very basic amenities / facilities. However, for our trip's purpose, the room met its function - a place to rest. The en suite bathroom is surprisingly big; most importantly clean. The hotel is located within the vicinity of another established hotel - Thistle Johor Bahru - and also walking distance from Johor's famed football team's (JDT) training ground. Located near the hotels are also F&B outlets which offer a variety of menu choices. McDonald's, Pizza Hut and KFC are also within walking distance. Others: WiFi - fast, met our requirement TV - limited channels, some fuzzy reception.

Simple, Clean, Friendly Hotel”

5 mins walking distance to McDonald and 10mins walking distance to Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru and KFC..Room is clean. However, toothbrush is not provided, so gonna bring your own one or buy a new one from lobby. There is some convenience tools, snacks, drinks sold at lobby. No any 7-eleven shop nearby.. Staff is friendly as well.

This is my first time choosing to stay at Potpourri Hotel. During my check in, the front office staff , Miss Aqidah is very efficient to help me and provide an excellent customer service. The manager, Miss Julie is very helpful and super friendly. The customer service at this hotel is super friendly. The room is very clean especially, toilet. The hotel is very well maintained. There are WiFi and Satellite TV channels in every room. This hotel is value for money with excellent customer service. The staffs at this hotel are very service oriented, especially, the manager Miss Julie... You will never regret for choosing this hotel. Worth the money spend.

Cheap and comfortable ”

Being a business traveller I don't need lavish or luxury stay in a hotel. All I need is clean, comfortable bed and shower. Potpourri Boutique Hotel JB provided me with these needs with cheap rate.

Short Stay”

Good boutique hotel for 1 or 2 nights stay. Comfortable and clean room. Well maintained. Although at night most restaurants are closed early. Only nearest point would be Mc'Donalds 24/7 which is about 10 mins walk.

Clean, sweet, cozy hotel”

Lots of good and popular makan places around the hotel. Rooms are reasonable size and clean. Staffs are great, polite and knowledgeable. The only cons is quite far fr city ctr but still can reach city by grab which cost like RM5-8. Will stay at this hotel again.

Value for money”

A simple boutique hotel which caters to the on-the-go traveller. Clean with a beautiful toilet. Do not expect spacious room though.

An excellent hotel”

Cleanest hotel i ever stay.. though the room a bit small but it suit the price as budget hotel. staff also friendly and kind. and maybe be better if they can take initiative to open the door for customer especially who came in with a lot of luggage and infant.

Clean, no frills and value for money”

Hotel is very new as it was opened in 2017 and it was under 2 years when I stayed. The bed sheets and towels were ok. Nothing mouldy, and no insects or bed bugs as compared to reviews on other hotels in JB in the vicinity of the city area. There are 3 levels where the rooms are. Ground, level 1 and level 2. We booked Superior Queen, and was assigned room 204. There was no windows so you might want to avoid this if you're claustrophobic. Room area was small and no extra table. Very basic facilities. You only have the bedside table and this long narrow shelf like thing under the tv. Barely had enough space to put all our backpacker styled bags and shopping bags. It costs about RM8-11 to Grab from JB City square to the hotel. So the price is still quite ok for the room and location, factoring in transport cost. Nothing much in the vicinity. Most shops were closed for the Raya holidays. Remember to buy back Breakfast and Dinner coz we kept forgetting. There's Macdonald's nearby.

Average But Recommended”

The hotel located just nearby JB city centre and give you an advantage to get into various places within JB. The parking is just in front of the hotel and free from coupon. The hotel has to ensure that room allotment is not overbooked as we can't get our booking right during the check-in process. Don't let your guest down due to your small mistake. Value for money ”

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and booked for a family room. The room was very clean. This family room doesn’t have any windows, so you might need to inform them earlier if you need a room with windows. Staffs are so nice and helpful. There was even a ‘mini grocery store’ at the lobby - which my kids love it! It is one of the best value hotel i have stayed. Thank you 😁

You get what you pay”

Pros: It's a new boutique hotel in the area. Great location and lobby. Basic amenities, room and toilet is spacious, have running coffee at lobby. Cons: although it stated a Non Smoking Hotel, room reeked with cigarette smell, and the room has NO window. Stayed for 3 nights, on 2nd day came back around 6PM, room was not cleaned. Complained to Front Desk, seem like he is new and unclear on SOP how to handle situation like this, saying I don't know what to do. He offered to clean it up but I refused seeing he might only able to do simple clean up. I waited for him to get in touch with Manager to sort this out. Waited for an hour then Manager called my and apologize profusely. Reason was the Cleaner "overlooked." Although I accept human error but not having proper procedure on how to handle is unacceptable to me. Overall, okay stay. Would hope for a better experience for other tenants.

Value for money”

A nice and clean hotel. The room is of decent size and surprisingly spacious toilet. The only down side is if your room is facing the main road then the noise could be a bit too much. Overall, a value for money boutique hotel.

Super Location”

Near to numerous great retaurant - Bigfood (our favourite), Medan Selera (this one no joke, there are 40 stalls available!), mcdonald (in case of late night hunger, haha). Laundry also just nearby. Taman Merdeka just 3 minutes driving, perfect for evening or morning stroll. City Centre just 5 minutes drive. No regret for staying here.

Nice hotel in Johor Bahru”

Nothing spectacular about this hotel but it is good for 1 night stay. Price is reasonable. Location is a bit far from the city centre but there is Mc Donald nearby.

Cozy Clean Hotel ”

Check in was fast. However room door was tight. Need a hard push to get in. Overall it's really clean - bed sheets, toilet, towels. Water pressure was however not strong as a normal hotel shower should. With a strong water pressure, this hotel will move up 1 level I'm eating.

New Hotel ”

Cleanliness ok tho some hair but still can pass better than other 3star hotel. Big bathroom , water and heat is very good. Excellent service- polite and nice and clear english communication. I would stay again. Oh window rooms can be really noisy for light sleeper due to cars passing the road and honking.

location is best”

everything is ok. only the sound, i can hear clearly when other open or close the door/ chating sound/ television sound. price of the hotel is cheaper in that area, i love the location, easy to take grab to jbcc.
