Find hotels near Powai in Mumbai, India

Everything is good, expecially the location is in Powai heart center, just nearby haiko market and lots of good restaurants , most staff are polite and nice, room is good, price is ok if you consider the other bigger hotel in powai; however, TV channels are not working ok in my stay, i stay 3 days but cannot watch any international channels, call tv staff to come but they just spent 15 minutes, and tell you they will come back tomorrow, so tomorrow i call again, then again, they said come back tomorrow, then i checked out; this is very disappointing

i booked this hotel through agoda which i feel is among the best travel sites in the world. metro residency charges more when you walk in to the hotel or make an advance booking directly with the hotel. through agoda, i was able to make a booking at a very competitive rate. i booked the hotel as i was attending a contact workshop in iit bombay (located at powai) through agoda's website after looking at the reviews of the hotel. when you have international travellers rating a hotel on agoda.com as good, i knew this was the place i had to stay in. spot on the distance between metro residency and iit bombay is no more than 3 kilometers and i did not face any problem in the commute to and fro. coming back to the hotel, they are doing some renovation work on the exteriors of the place and one gets the feeling that this is not a good place. but when you walk in to the hotel, you see that it is a good place. i had booked a double bed ac room for 2 nights and needless the room was good in terms of facilities, clean and had a terrific view overlooking powai lake. the centralized air conditioning worked like a dream, hot water was available at the required times and the staff was friendly and helpful. the only glitch was that the cable tv did act a bit quirky at times and i was not able to watch some of the live matches of the australian open 2012 grand slam tournament. probably the only thing the hotel needs to improve is the food aspect. the breakfast is a bit over rated and for the money one pays, i am not too sure it will appeal to everyone as there was a very limited menu which was heavily localized (in short no continental breakfast). other than that, i had a good experience staying here and would definitely recommend this place for business folks or anybody looking for a nice place to stay in powai area in mumbai. thank you agoda for helping me stay here !

Maxx Value is a good place to stay if you have business in the Powai area, or want to stay outside the chaos of more touristy areas. It's close to Hiranandani Gardens, which has everything you could need and Powai lake. It's a little hard to find off of Raheja Vihar, but away from the street, so very quiet. The food is OK, not bad, but not great either. Prices for food are affordable and the staff was very, very friendly. All in all a good stay.

After check in and a quick shower, I went out. When I arrived back to my room late in the night, I was greeted by cockroaches all over the room and the bathroom. That's when I checked the wardrobe and found that too infested. The bed linen was torn and when I lifted the blanket, it had stains. The toilet bowl also had stains. The AC was on but non functional. When I protested, they changed my room which was better in all aspects but the cable TV had an expired subscription. I just gave up and went to bed as I had an early appointment the next day.
