Incredible Staff and Incredible Food”
If you are seeking a plush hotel with satellite tv and super fast WiFi, then the Prince Hotel is not for you. If you want to spend time alone in your room, then the Prince Hotel is not for you. On the other hand, if you want to meet one of the nicest and most welcoming hotel staffs you could possibly meet, if you want to eat some incredible food at a very reasonable price from Western perspectives, and if you want to meet some awesome fellow travelers, then the Prince might be the place for you. It felt more like I was a member of their family and not merely another customer. This was my first time in Mrauk U and I certainly hope it will not be my last and when I do return to this incredible city, I will stay at the Prince.

Great Value for Money”
The Prince is currently renovating and doing a fabulous job. It is easy to see the owners vision for the rooms and the gardens. He has an eye for the style of the people who inhabit that region. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the owner is a gem. If you get the opportunity to chat him, do so, you will learn a lot about the region and Myanmar. The breakfast was good and the pancakes are divine. Dinner is also available. Mrauk U is still a bit of a frontier, so finding a friendly, clean hotel at a reasonable price was a bonus. We highly recommend The Prince.

First hotel to open in Mrauk U - in 1995! Great family.”
Prince Hotel was the first hotel to ever open in Mrauk U, back in the days where I imagine would be really difficult to travel to this region. Given the recent fighting between Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army, the hotel has done everything to ensure the safety of its guests. Great family, great breakfast, and really good food here. Support small business owners!

thumbs up for the staffs!”
pros: cheapest hotel in Mrauk U (using online platforms), booked an 8bed dorm but they put me on a 2bed dorm, huge room and T&B plus with a veranda/balcony, rented a bike for more than 6hrs but they charged me for only half a day, free bottled water upon check-in, plenty of breakfast (2 crepes or pancakes in their terms,1 toast, 1 banana and Burmese coffee) in their garden, a bed net is provided against mosquitoes which is very rampant in Mrauk U cons: fixtures need some updating, location is just by the hi-way so you could here the buses etc passing by (though this doesn't hinder me from having a good sleep)

The best place to stay in Mrauk U!”
Accommodation in Mrauk U is limited and therefore can be seen as expensive however we were not disappointed with our stay at Prince Hotel. It is family run and the staff were absolutely superb; friendly, knowledgeable and very very helpful. If you stay at Prince Hotel you must eat with them in the evening. The food we had during our stay was probably the best and most traditional food we had in all of Burma and the meal itself was a great occasion to speak with all the other guests and the staff. There were even people coming in from the other hotels to eat at Prince hotel. The accommodation does require significant updating but we wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. Thank you to the staff for helping us organising our trip further north. We would have struggled on our own as we were the only westerners up there!

So helpful”
I couldn't fault the service from Prince Hotel Mrauk U, they arranged all my transportation (including bicycle) and made sure my time in Mrauk U went smoothly. My room was rustic style but very comfortable (I actually upgraded to superior) and they kept bringing yummy pancakes for breakfast each morning until I asked them to stop. Currently the central authorities are making it difficult to travel to Mrauk U (though Sittwe is OK- bizarre) I hope this gets resolved soon, it's a great place to visit

Relax at a Quiet Family-Owned Guesthouse”
We stayed at the Prince Hotel for 3 nights and absolutely loved our stay. The best part is the family who care for you like family. Very open and welcoming, conversations around the communal table were the highlight our our stay in Mrauk-U. Use the map they provide, Rent bicycles, and off you go for easy cycling to the main areas. We really loved the family and our stay. We miss them already!

good basic place for travellers”
Although situated at one of the main streets in Mrauk U, this hotel is quite cozy. About 10 bungalows in a very green garden with palm trees and a great variety of local plants. Breakfast and diner is served at one big table, making this a nice place to meet fellow adventurous travelers. The staff is very friendly and helps you out with bike rental, local maps etc. The rooms are of good size, with comfortable single or double beds, mosquito nets and an okay bathroom. A bit noisy from the ceiling (bathroom noise from the neighbours can be a bit too much for westeners). But hey, it makes you think about why western people hang on so much to their privacy, while Asian families all live together under one roof, or even sleep together with a whole bunch on one floor. Hot showers only available in the afternoon, so you can wash of the dust of visiting the temples. Why only afternoon? Because it takes a while to heat up the water reservoir with a good old burning fire. Electricity 24/7 but do bring a torch to bridge the minutes until the generator starts up. Mrauk u is still very quiet, unspoiled and gives you the thrill of adventure. I hope and wish that development won’t go too fast.

Friendly family run hostel”
the first impression of the hostel is a bit run down, rooms are clean but some of the floorboards need replacement. when we flushed our toilet the water in the toilet of the room next door went up and vice versa. the garden of the hostel is quiet nice and gives a lot of shade which you need during the hot days in Mrauk U. the family that runs the hostel is very friendly and attentive and the sons of the owner act as guides in Mrauk U and for trips to Shan Villages or hiking trips in the surrounding area. breakfast (yummy fresh pancakes or mohinga soup) and dinner were amazing. for dinner you simply tell one of the staff during the day what you would like to have and they dish it up at night.

Stayed here 4 nights. Rustic, with large rooms and convenient location. Great meals cooked to order. Quiet location with easy walking distance to many sights. Best sunrise view in Mrauk U just 15-20min walk away. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Best in Mrauk U”
I stayed 4 nights at the Prince and would stay again. It is run by a very friendly family and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The food is very much above average especially if you have dinner there. It is very good to be served with fresh vegetables and salads. I will stay there again if I go to Mrauk U.

amazing stay”
This family-run hotel provides excellent service and comfort for their guests. I loved the garden dining area. The food was *incredible* (a bit pricey, but well worth it) and the coffee was the best I've tasted in 3 years of living in Myanmar. Be prepared when you order food that it will take about an hour for it be ready as they make everything fresh from scratch. My friend and I were there just after Thingyan and had some trouble securing transportation out of Mrauk Oo, but the staff went above and beyond to get us where we needed to go. The hotel is not located very close to any of the major attractions, but it's easy enough to bike around.

Very good”
The standard prived room is a bit outdated and there was not hot water when we stayed, but it is ok according to the price. The garden is quite nice and breakfast is gorgeous. The owner is very nice, it is really interesting having a conversation with him (he speaks good English). He and the staff are willing to help in anything you may need. The hotel is a bit far from the center, but Mrauk-U is pretty small and it is easy to walk everywhere.

Good cost value at this present moment.”
Mrauk U is in the middle of developing in tourism. If you compare this hotel to others in Myanmar's standard based on price, considering expensive w what they offer. But i saw other hotels in MU are all over priced. Their cottages are cute but aged, but the property is nicely tuckled inside lush tropical plants and trees. Not sure how rooms in "newer" building might look inside... could be better? Their breakfast is same every day during my three mornings, crepe and omlet and toast and banana. As i love hot shower, the limited time of hot water availability(5-8 in both AM PM) is my only complain there. The street in the front of the hotel is dusty due to the construction going on at the entrance of the town. It is walking disrance to the center but their on site bicycle rental comes in handy. I personally recommend the restaurant in the hotel right next to Prince, it is the bedt among all other places where i had dinner. Good price and delicious, most of all, i like the attitudes of the female employees with Myanmar smile in the restaurant. You might find no one there eating but highly recommended. If you stay at Prince, check to see if the owner is there. He travels often so i missed the timing to meet him but he seems very knowlegable and could share many info of MU with you.

Community atmosphere at one of Mrauk-U's best”
We had a nice stay at Prince. We've been living and traveling in Myanmar for several years, so we have a good idea of what you can expect at hotels in the country. Mrauk-U is pretty far off the beaten path, so our expectations is a little lower level of refinement relative to price than what you'd get in Bangkok, for example. Overall our expectations were met. We spent a little extra on the suite, but really all that meant was more unused space, so wouldn't necessarily recommend this unless you need it. The highlight was the great community atmosphere during dinner, and dinner itself, which was a showcase of Myanmar staples and also local Rakhine specialties. We would definitely go back to stay here again.

Sweet little place though definitely showing its age”
The family owners and employees were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was the best I had in Mrauk U. Wifi is spotty and not to be relied upon.
