Rain forest hotel is a small hotel in China town, close to the busiest Street market. Room is small but clean and very good wifi.

Very nice hotel in Chinatown”

We had twin room with shared bahtroom and we were very satisfied. It was definitely worth the money: beds were comfy, airconditioner worked, there was free water refills and shared bathrooms were always clean with paper and soap. Little bonus is nice outdoor terrace where you can hang around. There was fridge, toaster ad microwave for guests to use which is nice, so you don't always have to go out to get food. Overall very nice place to stay and we are definitely coming back. Staff was always smiling and helping. Even the cleaning lady was smiling constantly and was very polite. We felt welcomed and appreciated. The area where hotel is in Chinatown is also nice with all the shops and food stalls nearby. Close to the subway and bus stops.

Awesome experience”

I was travelling with my mom to KL and we chanced upon this hotel and decided to book it, based on its reviews. True to its reviews, the hotel was very clean, ideally located near Chinatown, and staff service was superb! Definitely recommended!

Excellent Hotel”

Pros : Hotel is nearby Petaling Street. Walking distance to Maharajalela Monorail station, Plaza Rakyat LRT , Pasar Seni LRT and Kuala Lumpur KTM Komuter. Clean room, clean shared toilet. Cons : No tv in the room which is not the main problem

Comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Always smiling. Recommended to those who wanted a cozy place to stay whenever you visit Kuala Lumpur. Only 350 metres away from the nearest Light Rapid Transit (LRT)

A comfortable stay”

We enjoyed staying in this hotel. Great location, friendly staff and value for money. It has a rooftop for guests who wanted to hang out with other travellers. BUDGET style accommodation available for backpackers who don't mind sharing bathroom & toilet facilities. Filtered water available. Fast wifi. In the heart of Chinatown where you can get great street food. Free shuttle to Bukit Bintang, KLCC and other routes. I use this hotel whenever I stop in KL on my way to other destinations.

Basic but Good and Clean”

Pros: very clean; friendly and helpful staff; great facilities (aircon, ensuite, wifi, complimentary cold and hot water on every floor, decent furniture, good lighting); hot showers; central location; NON-SMOKING rooms. Cons: loud buzzing from transformer (makes sleep difficult); cigarette smoke through bathroom vents; patchy shower pressure; transparent bathroom 'walls'; cramped rooms; no windows; smelly bathroom. In this price range and location, Rainforest is great value for money. A couple of extra cons - broken ambient light in our first room, MISSING SMOKE DETECTOR in our second (WHOOPS!), broken drawer on bedside table and mouldy smell overpowered by disinfectant (due to absence of windows) in first - combine with the others to make this a below-five-star rating. But in terms of value-for-money, the pros of this this centrally-located,clean and friendly hotel make it a great budget option.

Value for money and good location”

The room is perfect for solo travelers like me specially if you're just looking for a nice place to bathe and sleep since you'll be out the whole day and will not spend most of the time in the room/hotel. Location is just a quick walk to Chinatown and Kelana Jaya Line (Pasar Seni station). Room walls are quite thin that you can hear the sound of people talking in the hallway as well as the sound of the unlocking of doors.

Decent hotel in excellent location for the price”

The room was fairly small but well decorated and clean, on the whole. All the amenities needed- no food available but very close to Chinatown and plenty of places to eat. The staff spoke very good English and were always helpful and friendly throughout. Considering everything, this is a very good hotel for the price. Excellent location and better standards of most hotels in the area.

Comfortable budget hotel in the heart of Chinatown”

Perfect hotel for the location and price. I stayed 12 nights which was fantastic as a base to explore the city. Hotel doesn't offer breakfast or other dishes so can't comment on the food. The room was very comfortable with a flat screen TV showing HBO Movies and a sports channel. It also has a/c with attached bathroom and was cleaned every day with fresh towels and toiletries provided. Only thing that may be a problem for other guests is that the bathroom has frosted glass partitions rather than actual walls, which means you can see through them into the bathroom, although not clearly since they are glazed. If you value your privacy or are funny about showing skin in front of other people then just be aware. However, no problem for me since I was travelling alone. Would stay again with no hesitation if I visit KL again.

nice hotel in chinatown”

The hotel is well situated in Chinatown. The staff is nice and they speak good english. Everything is new and clean. The room is very very small and it smell bad humidity (we had no window, I'm sure it's better with). There is no privacy between the room and the toilets, it's almost in the same room. Internet is working very fast.

Nice hotel”

The location was a highlight, near chinatown and easy to find.. Also near from pasar seni lrt. The hotel was nice, my room in 3rd floor and they have lift. The staff is very helpful, the room was good and clean

A great location but would not stay here again. ”

The plus side is that the location in ChinaTown in great and really close the the local train station. The rooms are very small, but this was expected for the money and the staff are actually ok. The downsides....the noise is just bad as people get drunk in the communal area on the 3rd floor and thi echos through the whole corridor. As this is is the capital city, people come and go all the time just creating noise. We arrived with someone shouting at reception, asking to be moved due to the noise and we understood why after 1 night staying here. I have used this hotel most times I stay in KL, but will NOT be using this hotel again as there is around 40 hotels within 500 metres at a similar price point.

This was new. clean, good location in Chinatown. Cheapest room with shared toilet was good value. Wifi was good inside the room. Which was great thing. Will stay here next time too if price is low.

Good hotel with reasonable price”

We stay at this hotel for one night, we book the standard room with window. The place is reasonable. And it has everything we need. The wifi is okay, they can accept our SGD for deposit, they even provide us with unlimited fresh water for us to refill at the hallway. The hotel position is very strategic, near the petaling street which is the chinatown and near the MRT "Pasar Seni" station

Great budget place close to train and great staff!”

Everything is great. its close to chinatown market, central market and the train staion is one stop away from KL sentral if u need to catch the bus for the airport. The staff is very nice, the place is clean. the rooms are tiny but comfy! second time i go there, and will probably go back again.

Great place for privacy ”

I valued the privacy that this place offered. There were individual shower rooms (with working hot water!) and bathrooms, each with a door that locks. The hot and cold water dispensers on each floor were very convenient since we had our own portable water bottles and coffee packets. It was always nice and quiet in the halls, apart from the faint music from parties on the neighboring street past midnight, which you couldn't really hear from your closed door. Then again this place is conveniently close to everything such as Petaling Street, bus routes, and Pasar Seni LRT station. We easily grabbed food on Petaling Street during our entire stay and took public transit to get around KL. Laundry service is not provided at the hotel so we had to find nearby places 5-10 minutes away. Overall, we recommend this place especially for the hefty discounts Agoda offered. We would definitely come back!

Great for a couple nights”

My friend and I were just staying KL for one night before we left for Bali the next evening. Wanted to stay close to Chinatown. Rainforest was situated perfectly just outside the walking street on Jalan Petaling. It has 24 hour reception and a secure entrance after dark. The rooftop "garden" area is a great place to be able to just hang out and have a few drinks and some conversation with other travelers. I must have misread something in the booking because I was caught completely unaware when we got to our room and it was literally just a room that was as deep as the length of the beds. I had fully thought it was ensuite when I booked it. However, the bathrooms were just a couple doors down from our room and they were large and immaculate. There is also a water cooler for public consumption. The staff were very helpful and they accommodated our need for a late check out. If I needed to spend more time in KL, I would probably stay here again.
