Excellent service & exceptional value for money”

I am a very demanding customer and so when we booked thru agoda, i had hoped the extensive research I did was correct and it met my requirements very well. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and they really made it special by baking her favorite chocolate cake and sending card and arranging for the right spa package and batik painting class. This resort has very beautiful gardens inside and greenery around and the room quality and service was prompt and adequate. the chef also made special dishes for us since we were vegetarian. the resort is not on beach but you can reach to the nearest klong prao beach by walking 150m behind the resort or going to dewa resort beach with their shuttle. I didn't like the dewa resort beach and had a car so we went to various beaches and I liked the klong prao resort beach the best. Lonely Beach and Bang bao beach are also great. Also, this resort is very close to klong plu waterfall that is interesting. We found the breakfast variety also good but their dining menu wasn't great or tasty except when chef made special dishes for us. They also have a good collection of movies n books in their library! At 1500 baht per night incl breakfast for hanuman room, we got 4 star hospitality. Oh yes the wifi wasn't working and that put us off. The only other con was that they gave us some free vouchers when we checked in as a surprise but didn't accept them at the time of final billing but hey now I am being nitpicky! Our experience turned out to be great and we thank the resort for that!

Excellent choice for a night or two”

This is my first time in Koh Chang for a weekend of getaway. I stayed at three hotels under the same company, Ramayana, Dewa and Awa . Ramayana is the first stop because we arrived late. There is three types of room at Ramayana, Family suite 4 to 5 occupancy, Resident 3 to 4 occupancy and delux allowed 2 max. We travel in a group of 3 and only room was available was the delux, we took it and also paid extra for the crib. Really want to check out the family suite and resident because is a private unit suited with traditional Thai style housing. Turns out the delux room wasn't too bad. It came with a private patio, King size bed and all the standard amenities same as other hotels can offer. The only thing was bad on that night, is the television wasn't working. Other than that, everything turns near prefect. Make sure if you're the type that hit gym in the morning or planning for the spa, you can request a room located near the gym. Ramayana resort is quite big and you might get lost. All the rooms come with flash light, so make sure to bring it with you when you planning to take a walk after dark.

Delightful hotel”

Overall, this hotel was fantastic and great value for the money. Situated between White sands and klong prao beach it was a big advantage having a car to go places. The hotel is a little isolated, but perfect for relaxing beside the gorgeous pool. I knew before I booked that it was not beside the beach but I presumed we could walk, which wasnt the case. We drove to white sands one day and the other we drove to the sister hotel, the dewa, and I have to say their private little beach is stunning. The hotel does supply transport to take you to the dewa beach, and as a guest of the ramayana you are free to use their facilities. It is a 5 minute drive. But if you prefer to stay in the ramayana and relax, it is well worth it. The hotel has a badminton court and a gym if you want to be active. I preferred just lazing by the lovely pool, and being an Irishman I took particular delight in there happy hour everyday with 2 heinekens for less than 2 pounds! Bliss. R

Wonderful Experience!”

Pros: 1. Good for the families traveling with young kids and toddlers. 2. Nice Swimming Pool with shallow depth. 3. Beautiful Landscape and Gardens. 4. Free Shuttle to drop and pick up - Klong Prao Beach and Klong Plu waterfalls. 5. Restaurant serves very tasty and delicious food with good hygiene quality in affordable prices. 6. Very much kid friendly. 7. Small partially functional Jacuzzi Pool. 8. Beautiful balconies opening up to the natural landscape. 9. Most wonderful people manning receptions and other serviceable areas. 10. Awesome breakfast served within the garden areas. 11. Play area for kids near the reception area. Cons: 1. Gym is poor. 2. During my stay - never seen anyone taking treatment at Spa. 3. Need to walk almost 800 meters and 600 meters at both sides from the main entrance to reach local shopping areas. 4. Did not see any unique souvenir shop within resort. 5. Bit far from the nearby beaches. 6. Lack of electric sockets inside room.

Ramayana Koh Chang Resort and spa”

The Ramayana Koh Chang resort and spa is a nice quiet couple orientated hotel on the west coast of the island. The rooms are spacious and neatly decorated and furnished ,the balcony/veranda is a nice touch too. The rooms have a tv,fridge,tea/coffee and the other usual amenities. The hotel its self is on the main road of the island so it's easy to find and beautifully lit at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful and remember your room number when getting your key for you . The private beach the Ramayana has is shared with its sister hotel the Dewa, they have transport leaving every hour to take guests there and back, the problem is that the Dewa guest have usually allready taken all the sunbeds . nevertheless i would recommend the hotel to people due to its relaxing atmposhere and quiet location .

comfortable bungalows in peacefull surroundings”

Ramayana is situated in Klong Prao, one of the more relaxed towns on Ko Chang. The resort itself does not have a beach but guests are welcome to use the beach facilities at the Dewa resort, which are great, comfortable sunbeds in the shade of palmtrees and cheap beachrestaurants nearby. We have rented a motorbike to be able to go when and where ever we wanted, since the Ramayana is about 15 min. walkingdistance away from restaurants etc. But Songtews are also widely available as transport. It is a very peaceful resort, beautiful garden and the staff is very service minded and hard working.The guests get value for money.The food in the Thai restaurant in the resort is very good.

Couldnt have found a better Hotel!”

I rented a nice scooter for baht a day and drove nearly everwhere. I checked out quite a few other hotels that I looked at on the net. Trust me when I say, you wont find a better hotel than than this. Its not a 5 star but its as close as you can get. Its not on the beach, but I have to say, the beaches in Koh chang are not their high point anyway. I saw their sister hotel (Dewa Hotel) which is on the beach and I much preferred the Ramayana over it. The price is excellent, the free breakfast is good(not great). Everyday the room was made up with the towels folded on the bed in the shape of different things (elephant, flower, etc etc).What a nice touch! No other hotel has a heated jaccuzi not to mention its humongous size if thats what you are into. I personally loved it! The pool is so beautiful and quiet in the middle of the lush green gardens with all different kinds of palm trees. Dont waste your time searching for hours for the right place like I did. I got lucky and found exactly what I was looking for. The only down side I can think of is no free internet in the rooms. There is free internet at the restaurant though. Will definately stay there if I go back to Koh Chang

ested the whole family from 4 to 9 February at the Ramayana Koh Chang Resort & Spa. very good hotel, well located. on the territory just a fairy tale-very beautifully decorated with a natural landscape of the jungle, a beautiful pool and cozy and spacious rooms. Quality delicious breakfast buffet. Excellent attitude of staff. Near an inexpensive fruit market and Thai food market.Let's return to this hotel on Ko Chang more than once!

Perfection!!”

We absolutely Loved our stay at Ramayana!The staff were all very friendly & helpful at all times especially Kan,Burn & Maly!!The other bartender/waiter who worked at the pool & restaurant was just as helpful and friendly!The rooms were spacious and clean and serviced daily & our beds and pillows were really comfy! The free shuttle which runs every hour from the hotel to the hotel beach @ Dewa Hotel and spa was a great bonus & we loved the peace & tranquility of the private beach.A songteaw to White Sand beach cost 50baht one way per person & this was cheap as well. The breakfast at Ramayana was really delicious!Well prepared & quite a big variety. We all really enjoyed the Songkran festivities and shows & participating in the water throwing with the staff and some of the guests!!It was my son’s first Songkran here in Thailand and especially being on an island here and he loved it.The swimming pools and the jacuzzi...JUST WOW!! Thank you to Ramayana Resort & spa Management and staff for an awesome 5 day holiday!!I look forward to seeing you all in Oct 2018 God willing!!;)

Ramayana Resort Kho Chang”

Ramayana is our favorite resort in Thailand. Period. We've stayed at lovely places in ChiangMai, Phuket and Kho Phi Phi but Ramayana on Kho Chang is a special place for us. We stayed there in May 2007, and when it was time to pick a honeymoon destination for Sep 2008 Ramayana on Kho Chang was the obvious choice. It's beautiful gardens, wonderful staff and lovely rooms are tops! Yes, there is no beach onsite - but there's a convenient shuttle to their private beach (this has moved location since 2007, it's now shared with their other resort The Dawa). The pool, spa and sauna are all great. And it's only a 10min ride away from the "crowds" of White Sand beach (if you can call Kho Chang 'crowded' compared to Phuket etc.)

Ramayana Resort, Koh Chang, Thailand”

The Ramayana is a great resort on the beautiful island of Koh Chang. The location is not at the beach but they compensate that with an hourly free short drive to the perfect private beach atThe Dewa hotel. The free stretchers, free towels, the bar at the beach and the Thai massage makes this place almost paradise. Another free drive to the village nearby twice a day is great to do some shopping. On walking distance there are some very good restaurants at the lagune. All kinds of activities (elephant trekking, snorkling, sea fishing, island tour, firefly watching) can be booked at the hotel with convenient pickup. The hotel rooms are very good, the swimming pool is great, the Thai massage, the jaccuzi and the perfect dinner in the open air are all reasons to repeat a visit.

Peaceful”

The Hotel and Spa was excellent. Huge room with terrace leading to a pond full on Koi Carp. A good size pool which was never busy and full access to a Sauna and Jacuzzi. The hotel was very peaceful and away from the busy areas of Koh Chang. As a solo traveller this was a little frustrating but they also hire scooters and that allowed me to access any part of the Island within 20 minutes. There is no beach nearby but the Resort does lay on a bus every hour to transport you to Klong Prao beach where you can lounge on a small bit of private beach used in conjunction with The Dewa Hotel

Great Resort”

This is a great resort with a laidback atmosphere. Wonderful well kept gardens. Our suite was comfortabe. good bed, amenities. Tasty (asian) breakfast, with enough variety from day to day. Very friendly staff overall. Also convenient was motorbike rental at the resort (although you will pay more than market price). We liked the location of the resort as it quite central to reach different parts of Koh Chang, especially if you use motorbike. Small points for improvement are the bathrooms (dark and a bit outdated) and the closing time of the pool (8 pm is too early). But all in all, we really had a good time at the Ramayana resort.

Quiet and relaxing”

ramayana is located for itself, away from the towns and feels very isolated in a good way. every room has a terrace, and because of a wall separating each terrace, it actually feels very private, and due to the placement of all the rooms and pool, all rooms feels very private. the rooms have a perfect size and couldn't really need anything more. there's a minibar with prices as low as the closest "shops", which more or less is two rows with a couples of shelves with groceries on them. no 7/11 closeby. the sita spa is also great, although the same persons doing the massages in there, are the same ones doing the massages at the pool at quite lower prices, but those of course don't include music and airconditioned rooms while having a massage. what ramayana really needs is a more relaxing area where you can sit and enjoy a beer or drinks. you feel a bit retracted to you room for that, and that isn't really the same thing. there's two restaurants at the resort, one with thaifood and one with more european food. the thai one has pink oilcloths on the tables and isn't really cozy dining. the european is way better in atmosphere and music, since at the thai one, there's live music every evening, you know, thai people singing english songs we all heard 100 times before, but probably not as bad as this. this kind of dinner entertainment is everywhere in thailand and is more humorous than entertaining. the service from the staff is top notch and especially the cleaning personel seems to enjoy their job, making different kind of animals and shapes out of the towels, also using some of your stuff like sunglasses and cigarettes, very entertaining, always a thrill to come back to your room to see what they've done next time.

Clean, beautiful, FANTASTIC!”

As we drove through white sand beach area, we looked at all of the grotty, old looking resorts. Ramayana is a little out of the way of white sand beach (the main shopping/tourist area), but only 200 baht for 4 of us one way. The resort is clean, beautiful, and has excellent restaurants and friendly people. A must stay in koh chang! Also look at the Dewa which is Ramayanas sister resort on the beachfront.

Best price/performance ratio on Koh Chang”

Among the other resorts we have seen on Koh Chang, we still like Ramyana the most. The only question is if you really want a resort at all. With a child, we have no regrets, but if traveling alone, I guess staying in a simple seaside bungalow would have been way more romantic than a polished 4-star environment... The accommodation is one-storey adjoining houses, placed in large circle, with a a pool and a tropical garden inside that circle. Apart from pros already mentioned, there is a very good restaurant (for Thai cuisine) and decent breakfasts. The beach option is an hourly 10-minute free taxi ride to the sister resort Dewa — the beach itself is nice and clean, but with unusually high snack prices. Ramayana's own massage — ms. Hatsataporn especially — deserves a separate praise. Massage at the pool goes at average price while in the salon the included sauna doubles it. The pool is large and nice (there's a smaller warm one by its side). The nearest 7-Eleven and fruit market are just 10 minutes away by foot (to the right along the road).

Nice rooms, friendly staff ( all of them ) good breakfast. You don' have the beach in the resort, but a shuttle brings you all hour to the partner hotel "The Dewa" where you can go to the beach,perfect organiced. The ramayana has also a nice pool and all prices are totally fair. If we go again to Koh Chang we will stay again there

The hotel was spotless clean, efficient friendly staff, and great spa. Even though the property is not on a beach, the setting, gardens and pool were serene and peaceful.Its lovely to walk down the road to a traditional fishing area on the lagoon, where there are a variety of fish restaurants and very tranquil sundown setting. The hotel provides a handy shuttle every hour to a beach resort in Klong Prao, which has a lovely beach terrace and there is also daily shuttle to White Sand Beach and a nearby Waterfall. I had a very relaxing stay; highly recommended especially in the Low Season, without too many people about.

Enjoyed my stay”

I stayed in Ramayana koh chang for two days and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were of great help & friendly. Being vegetarians, we didn't try to search Indian hotels like we normally do. Have been staying in Thailand from past 5 years and with my managable thai, i was able to get what i wanted as vegetarian food. The staff were co-operative at all times. One good thing i observed is the no food wastage in the breakfast time which is the normal thing in an International hotel. The hotel management and staff strives to protect the environment by displaying various notices in the right manner.

Beautiful surroundings with great service”

This is the 4th time I have stayed at this hotel and am made to feel welcome on every ocassion. On this ocassion I had my niece, nephew and son tagging along with me who were all impressed with this hotel. They even layed on a surprise party at short notice for my niece's birthday. The staff realy go out of their way to make sure your stay is one to remember. The hotel is set in tranquil gardens with pool and only a short distance from the beach via the courtesy shuttle bus. I have stayed at many hotels in Koh Chang paying upto 10,000 baht per night but at the Ramayana, the rooms can equal that of the higher end hotels for a fraction of the price. This is without a doubt the best hotel and room you will get for your money. I higlhly recommend.
